"Here's your bomb pop miss," the ice cream vendor spoke, handing the colorfully wrapped frozen treat to a strange looking girl. Then again, when was anyone within gaia ever normal looking? Unique lineages weren't uncommon and Ilyrosa was one of those with a strange background.
"Thanks," Ily replied, taking it and unwrapping it at last. For the end of summer it had to be the hottest day in the entire YEAR. Which was why she had tracked and ran down the ice cream truck to snag one of the cold sweets he sold. "Oh... drat... Where am I?" she muttered, suddenly realizing the section of town was totally unfamiliar to her. Greeeaaaat.

"You're on seventh street in the residential section of Durem." a voice she probably hadn't heard too much since toddlerhood was audible over her shoulder. Steve, the rainbow haired and tentacled lust spawn she'd met at a bowling alley, was stretched out on the steps in front of a rather nice apartment building.
In his hand was a popsicle, probably purchased shortly before Ily got to the vendor, and his stance seemed plenty relaxed. Shaggy black hair with rainbow tips lightly dusted over his shoulders, and everything from his way of sitting to the way he was looking at her seemed relaxed and lazy. His tentacles, usually at least semi-active, were lying limply against the warm steps like snakes, and the boy himself had grown tall enough to be able to sit on one of the bottom ones and rest his shoulders on the top step. An interesting sight, to be sure.
"Sup, Ily?" he asked, recognizing her despite changed appearances. It wasn't really hard anyway, the girl looked pretty much the same, albeit taller and dressed funny.

Ily would have jumped had she not earlier seen someone on the steps. Granted, she hadn't put two and two together on who he was until he spoke and greeted her like an old friend. The voice was familiar enough and as she turned to look at the pre-teen sprawled across the steps, the memory of when they had met at a bowling alley filled her mind. "Oh... Thanks. And not all too much as of recent. You?"
Her clothes weren't quite as mind melting for once, actually matching in a strange color scheme of fiery reds, oranges, and yellows. However, that didn't mean the colors weren't neon or incredibly bright and appearing almost as if her shirt had been colored with highlighters of sorts. At least she matched and didn't look like a neon rainbow...
Moving over to the steps the pre-teen stood near the steps to get a better look at him. Besides what one would usually expect for changes in a growth spurt, he hadn't changed a whole lot unlike herself. He actually looked alright for a boy with rainbow hair and tentacles.

"Eh, about the same. Family stuff, yanno?" Steve commented with a wave of his free hand. After a few moments, he managed to put together a realization about something. "So...did you just get lost and decide you really wanted a popsicle before figuring out where you were or were you that desperate for ice cream?" Didn't they sell it at most convenience stores?
One of his tentacles - the right one with lashes on the googly eyes - sat up enough to wave at Ily, the left not seemign to give a damn about the girl's presence. Who cared if some stranger were around? Boris was lounging, dammit! Natasha was the friendly one anyway.
"You're welcome to sit down if you need." Steve offered, indicating the space on the steps he wasn't occupying. "Most people aren't going to get back here for a few hours so we aren't in the way."

Ha. If only she didn't. "Well... I was heading home and heard the truck nearby and went off searching for it. I thought it was only a block or two away but it apparently wasn't," Ily replied, giving a small wave back to the rainbow tentacle. It was strange how they acted and moved on their own with seemingly a unique personality for each despite being attached to one body.
"Really? Funnily enough, I'm not due home for a few more hours," Ily laughed as she moved to sit on the steps unoccupied by Steve. "So I assume you're just gonna sit there all day till your family returns?" she asked, knowing that if he was anything like Seth the answer was probably yes.

"They put magic magnet powers on the songs from them to attract kids from far and wide." Steve joked, grinning at Ily and shrugging. It was a bit of an odd situation but understandable just the same. Ice Cream trucks wandering and blaring that song on a hot day could become one hell of a pursuit, as he'd found once or twice with his brothers.
The boy shook his head a bit, ""No, actually I was cleaning today and came out to relax afterward. I hung out at the park too late the other night so Wamii left me home on cleaning duty as punishment, while they all went to Wally Weasel's. She said I could hang out when I got stuff clean so I am."

Ily laughed, know how true at times such a comment could be. It always seemed like, on hot days like this, the truck had a small procession following it no matter where it went. Kids and adults alike chased after the obnoxiously loud truck for the treats that lay within.
"Yeah. They probably do have something like that to draw out all the little kids. Probably how they make so much money too," she commented, pondering whether or not the truck had some sort of magical ability to lure out children in search of sugary frozen treats.
"Really? Wow. That must have sucked, having to clean as punishment. Then again, seeing as you're out here I'm assuming there wasn't a whole lot to clean." Unlike her house where cleaning a single room would take an age and a half. The garbage people hated them whenever someone decided on cleaning out the fridge. Probably because the bag sometimes growled as they dumped it into the back of the truck...

Steve snorted, waving a hand. "Maybe they were all designed by the pied piper." Okay he'd probably been walking by while Orii and his brothers were watching Fairytale Theater too much, but still! It was an uncanny similarity!
"Naw, there wasn't too much to clean, particularly not with help." he said, pointing to Boris and Natasha. It was easy to vacuum with his hands while dusting with his tentacles. Provided he moved around right anyway - they weren't always too maneuverable.

"Probably. Or witches that lure children away for dinner... unless the two got together to form some sort of evil group," Ily giggled, glancing vaguely at the two rather lazy rainbow tentacles. Didn't look like they'd do anything, much less clean.
"Yeah... I'm assuming they normally don't act like two rainbow rubber worms that happened to just stick to your sides?" she added, flicking her tail back and forth slowly. "You sure they're not dead or something?" Well, one hadn't moved much and the other hadn't moved at all so it wasn't like her idea was totally out of line.

"Or had kids. Either way, it's evil." the boy joked before his eyes went down to the extremely worn out appendages. "Naw, they're just tired right now. And I don't think they like the heat." At least, that was Steve's best guess. How was he supposed to know why tentacles got lazy?
As if to protest the entire business, Natasha reached out to poke Ily's tail. "There. See? Nat's alive."
