Cat pouted slightly as he looked at the sad excuse for a doll that he had managed to procure for his class today. Sure, the raggedy old bear was sufficient for the task ahead, but he had hoped that he would have gotten something more... sturdy, just in case things went haywire. Well, that's what he got for relying on thrift stores. He sighed and propped the little creature against a pile of books on his desk. He hoped that the spawn he was teaching today got his request that she bring any of her dolls or stuffed animals, if she had any. It made him nervous not to have any back-up plans, just in case. Not that he thought she was going to tear the bear apart or anything. It was just a slim possibility.

Luska couldn't help but squirm a little as she stood outside of the facility. It had been a while since she visited this place, and to top it all off, it was her first time taking a class here. Before stepping through the doors, Luska dug through her bag to take out the letter from her instructor. She quickly skimmed through letter and checked the contents of her bag which were mostly filled with all sorts of stuff animals. Perhaps the spawn had brought a little more than she should, but there wasn't any limit specified.
And in Luska's defense, it was hard to bring only one or two. She didn't like to be unfair when it comes to her "friends".
Okay, no more hesitation. Luska quickly entered the building and ventured around until she finally found her classroom. Inhaling deeply and then letting it out in one big sigh, Luska knocked on the door.

Cat's wings fluttered slightly when he heard the quiet knock on the door, and he quickly stepped forward to greet his new student. A welcoming smile was on his face as he opened the door for the two-toned girl there. "Hello there. You must be Luska. I'm Cat, your teacher for today. Please, please, come in." He ushered the girl in with well-intended speed, shutting the door behind her.
"Good, and I see you brought some stuffed animals, too. Thank you for that, by the way; as you can see, my collection isn't as good as yours," he said with a chuckle, gesturing to the bear on his desk. "Now, I asked you to bring those because today, you'll be using them to practice your magic. You see Luska, you have the ability to make any kind of doll or stuffed animal move just with your mind. So, obviously, we need dolls." He beamed at her. "So, why don't you pick your favorite out of your bag, and we can get started?"

"H-hello Mr. Cat," Luska shyly greeted back as she stepped into the room and slid her bag off of her shoulders. She took a moment to look at the stuff bear sitting on his desk. It was old and had probably seen better days in its life. And to a girl who still had a child-like mind set, Luska couldn't help but feel that the bear must be lonely sitting on the desk by itself.
She randomly dug into her bag and pulled out the first thing her hand grabbed. "Mister Cat can make his collection better with this one then," Luska says holding up a small stuffed rabbit. Sharing was caring, at least that was what she was taught. And Luska felt that having only one doll or stuffed animal wasn't enough. Everyone should have a few dozen.
With her free hand, she took out another rabbit. "Oh, and Lulu will be using Hannah~!"It had pink patches of fabric sewn onto certain areas and the head was rather too big for it's body and would flop to the side. It wasn't factory made like the others in Luska's bag but it did have a certain charm to it.
Earlier, Luska would have admit that she was nervous about taking a class by herself. But now the spawn was oozing with excitement right about now. Being able to make her dolls and stuff animals move just because she wanted to? That would surely bring her room to life.

Cat was quickly charmed by the timid girl, and accepted her gift with a surprised smile. He hadn't expected such generosity, and even though he hadn't planned on keeping the bear, now he was more inclined to. Although, he'd have to find a child to donate his 'collection' to; he could just imagine the ridicule his human students would give him if they found out their gay Eilian teacher 'collected' stuffed animals. Still, these misgivings did nothing to hinder his gratitude as he took the rabbit from the girl's hand. "Thank you, Luska, that's very kind of you." He turned to place the two toys next to each other, and had to admit that they looked better together.
Back on business, he nodded at Luska's selection. "Alright, Hannah it is, then. Now, I want you to place Hannah on the ground in front of you. You can sit if you want," he added as he did just that, "there's really no reason to stand." Once the two had made themselves comfortable, Cat stretched out his hand and posed his fingers as if he was controlling a marionette. "Okay, now make your hand look like mine. Close your eyes and imagine that there are strings attached to Hannah's legs and arms, like an actual puppet. Then, once you have that, if you think, for example, 'stand up', Hannah should stand." He smiled kindly. "Make sense?"

Luska beamed happily when Cat accepted her gift. That was much better, now the bear on the table wasn't lonely anymore.
Now it was time to focus with the task at hand. The spawn followed her instructors actions and sat down when he did after gently placing Hannah on the floor. She then proceeded to mimic Cat, posing her fingers the same way. "T-that doesn't sound too hard." The kind smile was enough reassurance for her. Luska took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
She tried to imagine strings attached to Hannah's arms and legs. 'Okay, Hannah. Time to see you stand.' The plushie's body twitched a little, making odd, jerky movements. "Is Lulu doing it right?" The girl asked, taking a peek with one eye, effectively breaking her concentration.
Hannah's body stopped moving and completely fell over. "Aww..."

Cat watched carefully as Luska closed her eyes and concentrated, and was quietly joyful as the rabbit began moving towards standing, albeit jerkily. He knew that it would break the fragile concentration to speak, but he was already forming his words of praise when the girl peeked at her work.
He sighed with a smile and made a dismissive gesture. "It's okay, Luska, it happens. Your power needs a lot of practice and concentration before you can use it easily. But you were doing it right, don't worry." He reached out a slow hand and righted Hannah, beaming up at the timid spawn.
"Now, how about you try again? I'll tell you when you've done it so you can open your eyes and see, is that okay?"

She smiled a little at her teacher's words of encouragement, her previous feelings of disappointment disappearing. "Okay, let's try again!" Luska exclaimed with determination. If she made it work before (although not perfectly), she could probably do it again. Hopefully this time, it'd be closer to perfect.
Luska closed her eyes once more and positioned her fingers over Hannah. She took a deep breath and thought in her mind 'Stand, Hannah!' The plushie squirmed around on the floor. Eventually, it stood up straight, with less jerky movements compared to Luska's first attempt.
The spawn's eyes remained closed, and she bit her lip waiting for Cat's approval. At this point, she was tempted to take a peek or even ask if maybe she was doing it right this time. But that temptation was killed off and Luska squeezed her eyes tighter to show her determination.

Cat smiled at his student's renewed determination and nodded. "Yes, let's." He sat back in silence and watched as the girl performed the gesture properly again, and a warm smile split his features when the stuffed rabbit once again stood up. He had gotten the impression that Luska rarely felt confident about herself, and so the kind man looked forward to complimenting her on her work. However, he had to wait for a moment or two to ensure that the girl would be able to see the fruits of her labor.
When he believed that Hannah would stay upright, Cat softly spoke to the concentrating spawn. "Okay Luska. Make sure to keep your concentration, but if you peek open your eyes, I think you'll be pleased to see that Hannah is awaiting your next command. If you want to, you could move your hand to the side and think 'walk left', and I'm sure that Hannah would be more than happy to oblige."

Luska slowly opened her eyes once her instructor said so. Just as Cat had said so, Luska was absolutely delighted to see that she had managed to make Hannah stand up without even touching her. "I did it! I did i--ah!" Through her excitement, the girl had almost lost her concentration, and Hannah began to tilt back and forth as if the plush was having trouble finding balance.
Luska let out a sigh of relief when Hannah stood straight again. With the next set of instructions in mind, Luska slowly moved her hand to the left while thinking of the action. The plush took the first step slowly. Then it finally began to march before stopping under Luska's hand.
"Ah! Hannah moved!" Luska exclaimed, absolutely delighted.

Cat laughed happily at his student's delight, just as happy to see her success as she was. Sure, the plushie's movement's were wobbly and inconsistent, but she was just a beginner; if she continued practicing, considering how quickly she had taken to her talent, she'd be a pro in no time. He would have patted her shoulder reassuringly, but he was afraid he'd break her concentration, so he just clapped once or twice.
"Yes, she most certainly did. You're doing really well." he said with a reassuring smile. "I bet if you tried, you could make her walk in a circle." He gestured with his finger. "Give it a shot?"
