Prologue
You just heard about a carnival show that was coming near your town. The adds all claim it to be the "Greatest Show Unearthed", with the most amazing creatures anyone's ever seen. Curious, you go to see this show, along with about a hundred or so other people. There are no rides, games, or food stands. Just a large black circus tent with red stripes. You pay for your ticket and go inside.
The ringleader comes out, a man in his early twenties and wearing a black ringleader suit and hat. The entire tent is almost pitch black with no lights except for a single one on the ringleader.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls!
Behind me lies a ghastly concoction of delight, horror, fantasy, and terror!
Your every wish is our command.
Your every whimsical desire brought to life.
But I'm warning you, there's always a price.
Welcome to the Greatest Show Unearthed!

The lights come on and reveal sights you never thought possible. Creatures of myth put on a show for all to see, doing tricks that any normal circus animals would do, but even more. A white dragon flies above going through, doing fancy maneuvers and going through rings of fire. There are mermaids in a clear tank jumping out of the water and doing flips while werewolves and others preform on the ground. There are even normal exotic animals that you sometimes find at a circus, but they're doing even more amazing things than you've ever seen. There are other creatures not preforming, but in cages for all to see.

The show lasts a good three hours before the ringleader says goodbye and the lights shut off. The entrance opens up again and you can all leave. It's dark though and you have a way to go before you get back home. On your way, you start to think that someone is following you, but try to ignore it. But the feeling doesn't leave. And then, you're hit upside the head with something hard and knocked unconscious.

You wake up hearing upon hearing a familiar voice. It's the ringleader giving his introduction to the show. Your eyes open to see that you're stuck inside a cage and there are several hundred people watching you from stands. You try to yell out for help, but a different sound comes out that isn't words. You wonder what's wrong when suddenly you see that your body is not your own. You've been changed into one of the creatures at the circus. There's a metal collar around your neck that you can't remove no matter how hard you struggle. You try to call for help again, but all that comes out is the same animal sound over and over. While everyone is watching the show, the ringleader comes over to you.
"I told you there was always a price. You're just lucky enough to become part of my crew. Welcome to the show. Get used to it, because you're staying with us for the rest of your life. Just like everyone else here." he says, pointing to all the other creatures.


Creature Feature - The Greatest Show Unearthed

Story
Welcome to the Greatest Show Unearthed. A carnival of wonder for the observers. But some of these observers are made to stay forever.
The ringleader is not human. He is a demon that needs to feed on life essence to survive. Therefore, he puts on a circus to draw hundreds of people. He takes some essence from each of them, but only enough that they'll feel somewhat tired afterwords. When doing this, he also marks who he wants as part of his show. Only two or three are chosen from each performance.
The demon's name is unknown, but everyone just calls him the Master or the Ringleader. He mixes both technology and magic to meet his goals. When he captures someone, he uses magic to change them into a creature of his choice. He created the collars so that they couldn't escape. If they do, he controls all the collars and they will detonate if a creature escapes. And they are almost impossible to remove.
Most of the circus workers are also machines. They wear white masks with slit eye holes and red, full body, clothes. They look rather skinny, but have enormous strength and agility and will follow only the Master's orders.
There are a few humans though that work for the Master. He pays them well enough to stay and keep their mouths shut. They do most of the work around the creatures by feeding them, watching to make sure they don't get into trouble, and other tasks.

The creatures were all human once until the Master changed them. There are a wide variety of both creatures of myth, and real exotic ones. They are kept in cages when a show is not in progress. Once a week, they are given an hour of open free time inside the tent where they can roam freely. Other than that, when they are not preforming or being kept in back, they are usually practicing their acts.
None of the creatures can talk to humans. They can only talk and understand each other, one of the benefits of the collars. But no creature has ever escaped successfully, or alive.

So now the question is, are you a creature of the circus that wants to escape? Or do you like your new lifestyle? Maybe you plan on stopping the Master and finding a way to return to normal. Or are you a human that must take care of the animals for a great amount of money?

Rules
1. I am in charge of this role play. I may add/change/remove/interpret the rules as I see fit.
2. Follow the Gaia TOS.
3. No god modding, cybering, or flamming.
4. Romance is allowed, but keep it PG-13 to PG-16 at least. If it goes beyond that, don't even take it to PMs. Just do a "fade to black."
5. At least three sentences per post and no text talk.
6. Use "" for talking. Don't use ** for actions and use (()) or [[]] for OOC talk.
7. Let me know if you're going to be gone for an extended period of time.
8. Any kind of creature is allowed for the circus animals (except vampires since they can talk to humans). Dragons, werewolves, mermaids (can't talk to humans outside of the water but can talk to the other animals anywhere), griffins, or any normal animals you'd like.
9. Only a few humans will be accepted to work at the carnival. And none of them can know that the ringleader is a demon.
10. PM your profiles to me with the title: Circus Act
11. I reserve the right to deny any profiles and to remove any existing characters if rules are broken. I also don't have to tell you why I remove your character, but I probably will let you know why.

My story is:I was just going to see my first carnival with my friends.I felt pity for the animals in the cages.After the show i went to the animals to see if I could free them.But I was caught by an animal keeper and I left.Me and my friends split up.I went thru a short cut thru the forest when I felt I was being watched. Then I blacked out. When I woke up, I was in the tank with the Mermaids I saw in the show.They told me all about the ringmaster and the rule.Everything I needed to know. Now I am working with them to try to escape.
