Nywele sent Amani, his children and , Uggi out for the day after bringing home Asali. He had laid Asali on the fur bedding covering most of the floor within his den and sat with in the mouth of the cave awaiting her to awaken.
Then den around her was decorated with pelts and strange dyes across the dirt walls. A few strange odds and ends from dulled crystals to feathers or pebbles sat on ledges or were placed about the edges of the den. Nywele and Amani had worked hard on making this the most beautiful den they could, there was even a small playground for cubs just outside the den. It was simply built up mounds of dirt and logs but Nywele was proud of it all the same.

After some time Asali woke with a start, a screech escaping her throat as her eyes snapped open. She still had a frenzied look about her, and her heart began to race again as she tried to stand, looking around the den. He was there, she could see him blocking the exit, outlined by the sun in a crude silhouette. How had she gotten here? Her head was pounding and she realized suddenly that none of her things were with her. Her fur bristled and her legs began to quake, her body betraying her as she collapsed almost immediately back on to her belly. "Where am I?" she asked him once her voice would work, still strained.

Nywele jumped as a screech came from his den, he was happy he had sent his family away for this. He moved into the den with a concerned look on his face.
"You are in my den like I said you would be....Are you feeling alright? You fainted I did not mean to scare you so bad, but I suppose it couldn't be helped. Amani has captured a meal for you." Nywele offered gesturing his paw to a plump hare placed beside a leaf holding a small amount of water. "I'm sorry to have brought you hear this way." Nywele muttered he really wished it could have been different he was sure she would hate him for a long time.

Asali wanted to scream at him, to tear tooth and claw and get out of here, but a clenching pain in her stomach stopped her. How many days had it been since she had eaten? She eyed the hare nervously, as if afraid it was a trap. Slowly she inched toward it, grabbing it by a foot and dragging it back to where she had previously stood. She turned her back to him in silence as she ate, obviously unaffected by the pleasantries. There was not apology for this. A switch flicked in her mind and it became suddenly her fault. She shouldn't have trusted him so readily. She shouldn't have trusted anyone. There was no reason but luck that this hadn't happened sooner.

Nywele's eyes followed the female with a little bit of sadness in them. He passed the crystal though his toes of his large front right paw trying to decide if giving it to her now would make her feel better. He cleared his throat before speaking again.
"I found this on the way back...its a pretty crystal I thought you might enjoy it." He said moving towards her a little and placing the crystal on the ground before backing away from her again. He wished to give her space for now, hoping it would calm her.

Her ears flipped back and she slowly turned to where he had laid the crystal. A look of familiarity flashed across her face and she ran to it, looking between it and him nervously. "Th- Thank you," she said nervously, rubbing her cheek against it where it lay, "I thought it was gone." Had he really found it for her? It was nice. No, she had it back now. She glanced at him from where she now lay, "How long will I stay here?"

Nywele smiled he was happy he had found something she had lost. He fluttered his wings lightly he would love to leave things for her to find and go off on quest just to bring her back something special.
His ears dropped as she asked that question. He pawed at his long braid for a moment with a look if concern. "You can't leave, you are a part of my harem now, but it will be a fun life I promise. We can go exploring and find many things....I can even take you on walks away from the pride's lands to find new things. Im a good pad that provides great home and protections to my wonderful banu." Nywele folded his ears back and his eyes seemed to plead for her to give him a chance. He felt bad in a way but she was going to stay with him.

Asali stiffened again, turning fearful eyes toward him. "I don't want to stay here, I don't want to stay anywhere forever," she told him with a soft stern tone. She wasn't sure what his life had been like, but stability to her was a terrifying concept. "Where are the other... banu?" she asked, suddenly realizing that surely she would not be the only one. What had happened to the others? Had he cornered her here alone for some malicious purpose. He did not seem the type, but then again he had not seemed the time to take a lioness against her will but here she was. She pawed the crystal, her eyes never leaving him, "What am I supposed to do here?"

"You have to, but do not worry. I also like to travel, my beybanu Amani does not seem the type to like that. So you will come with me. Explore with me! It will be fun Asali! I promise!" Nywele wished to comfort her some how.
"I predicted you might react to this badly. I did not want my children to be here. I figured it might scare them so I sent them out with Amani and Uggi. They'll be back in a few hours or so." Nywele blinked a little noticing her slight hint of fear. Not an ill will in his mind, really that sort of thing would be her choice. Even if she never came around to loving him he would never make her give him cubs.
Nywele scratched his chin a little as he thought about what she said. "Be my friend? Have adventures with me? Find new things with me?" It all seemed rather selfish in a way right now. Was he really in the right to claim her, but he really wanted her to stay with him. She was so interesting and beautiful.

Her shoulders slumped a bit and she seemed to relax. "So I... We... Will still travel? I don't have to stay in this cave all the time?" That seemed to lessen the blow, that she might still see the ocean some day. Surely he would not let her run off and circle it as she had planned, but at least she might find a nice shell to bring back. She would need the pretty things to be comfortable here. "You still haven't given me a feather," she reminded him, a faint sign of mockery in her voice. It was different now, almost playful. "I think I'd like to put it under my crystal, something mine and something yours." It seemed an odd arrangement, but she seemed to believe it would make her more comfortable.

Nywele was a little confused by the change at first, but then he started to smile. Asali seemed to be trying to make the best of her situation.
"Yes, I like moving about a bit. We can take vacation just you and me. And sometimes perhaps the whole family can go on an outing. I've been thinking about doing that...."
Nywele laughed a bit and the flared out one of his wings and plucking out one of the medium sized one. He was sure if it didn't grow back it wouldn't affect his flying any. Nywele then moved forwards to place the feather before her. It shimmered in the bits of light coming into the cave but it was still see through.
"There as I promised. I always keep my promises. I also promise there will be plenty more gifts where that one came from. Well not my wing so much, but from me." Nywele said with a chuckle.

Asali let a smile escape her defenses as she pulled the feather in close with her crystal. There was something comforting about it, though she could not place quite what. A god would be useful if she wanted to get anything particularly far away or high up, maybe he could take her to the ocean some day after all. She was still anxious, as one would expect of a wanderer who had suddenly been confined, but she felt a sort of new sympathy towards him. He seemed as uncomfortable with the current arrangement as she had, and that warmed her heart to him. "I think I'll stay," she told him, the words almost a question, "But I can't promise forever." No one could, realistically.

Nywele smiled wide and his body seemed to loosen as she spoke those words. He lay down on the edge of the fur bed she was on watching her but still giving her space.
"It pleases me so much to hear you will stay with me and be my friend and companion! My family shall be pleased to they can't wait to meet you , ya know." Nywele chimed ever so gleeful and obviously ignoring the not forever part.

Family? It was a peculiar concept to Asali, one she was not quite sure she would be comfortable with. It was something new at least, she would take it as an adventure. Absently she nuzzled the feather he had given her, feeling it a happy medium between moving and pressing herself against him. Most of her apprehension was gone, but it would still take her some time yet to feel that close to him. After all, this had all happened quite quickly.
