None of the desks match; none of the chairs match; even the chalkboard looks like it was compiled from several chalkboards that lived better lives, once upon a time. All in all it looks like a thrift shop gone wrong, like a cluttered mess of quasi-living space where nothing is ever thrown out.

There are stubs of chalk and pens everywhere, the teacher's desk in the front of the room is covered in stacks and stacks of potentially-unsorted documents and various goodies that definitely do not relate to his subject matter. A bobble-headed swamp monster dances merrily on one corner, jostled by the breeze from an air vent above it. His coffee cup, white on black, is a freebie from an old used Broom lot in one of the seedier parts of town.

Over the back of his empty chair is thrown a gaudy jacket, and a puke-yellow scarf. There may or may not be a pair of fuzzy grey slippers under his chair.

The bell on the door rings sharply every time a student comes through, and the wise will realize that this means latecomers will be noticed and noted.

...except there is no sign of the teacher himself. A handful of early arrivals are there before the crowd, overachievers or nervous youngsters, settled at desks scattered throughout the room -- one near the front, looking eager and expectant, one toward the back, trying to slouch and be invisible, one off to one side, still listening to his eyePod as he waits for class to begin. No one has to worry about being the first one in.

On the board, scrawled in a somewhat-slanted hand is one question:

What does fear look like?

Beneath it is a hand-made, somewhat messy sign-in sheet. There are an ambitious twenty-five lines on it. Apparently Professor Tailor expects quite a turn out. It seems obvious that students are expected to jot their names on the lines:

Should it miraculously fill up, there is additional room on the back.

OOC:

...so what do you do now?
What does any student do in a classroom where there's no teacher?

It might be wise, however, to put your name on the sign in sheet. To do this, please save the image to your own computer [or print it out!], scrawl in your name, and upload it so that the next student can add his or hers as well. Post it as an img file in your entrance post.

The teacher will be with you shortly.

Hopefully.

Feel free to open RP until he does.

----------------

Note: If you put your name on the sheet, you will probably get credit for being here, but if you stick around and RP you will get more credit. There will be multiple prompts for this session.

You must sign in by October 12th in order to participate in this class.

School was required to improve and classes were required for school. That was why the black dog was here. As much as he'd rather be off somewhere else, he wanted to improve. He wanted to become fearsome--stronger; to master his abilities to the fullest. Yes, all good, but that meant he needed to participate in classes to reach his goal. So in the end, as much as he hated it, he came to class; dragging his feet all the way. Funny thing was. He was trying, sort of, but... Where was the teacher?

He looked all around the classroom, ears perked and alert, but there was nothing. No one was here. He was sure he was in the right room. Maybe his talent for getting lost had kicked in when he least expected it? But... No. This was the room. He wasn't lost.

Frustrated, Tybalt sniffed the air, in an attempt to locate something--anything by scent, but after a few minutes, decided he was getting know where. Weird. Maybe he was early..? That thought was quickly removed with a snort. Tybalt was never early. Quite the opposite really. But seriously. Where was everyone?

He gave one more look around the class, before he signed his name onto the sheet and plopped down into one those tacky chairs. It was useless looking. For now all he could do was wait. There wasn't much else he could do. Though taking a nap had crossed his mind. Might as well. Besides, it's not like he could get scolded if no one was here, right?

Gargantuan had already been uncertain about classes, and just where he was supposed to go for them... The beast stood in front of the doorway, waggling his ears until he seemed to make up his mind and slouched inside. He wasn't alone, so that was good, and he brightened considerably at the sight of Tybalt, even going so far as to wave happily at the other and the rest of the students already packed into the room.

Friends were good!

Oh, but, teacher... Where was the teacher? Gargantuan knew by now that when the bell rang, he was probably going to get a detention--and the thought filled him with dread. He couldn't get a detention, not now, not ever! Not after that bathroom.

Gargantuan studied the paper for a long time, and he may or may not have begun to salivate a little as he did so. Looked tasty... Oh, but he'd already gotten yelled at for trying to eat sign-in lists, and with a guilty air about him, the beast messily did his best to scrawl his name in the slot provided. And probably took up more than a single, little line.

Content, he would lumber to the back of the room and delicately try to squeeze himself in a seat. "Teacher not here?" He boomed, curious and perplexed as always when things were more complicated than they should be.

Sin walked into class and flipped her hair, her eyes scanned the room and her lips slowly turned down into a mild frown. No professor, and no friends, and...she eyed Tybalt and Gargantuan...no cute boys. With a huff she moved to sign the sign in sheet before sauntering over to lounge in a seat.

She waited a few moments her fingers coming down on her desk in a mild tap, tap, tap of impatience. Finally she sat up and bit and looked at Tybalt.
"Well did the professor step out?" She hoped he would have some answer, after all he had been here before her. She eyed the board again for somekind of hidden instructions, some clue about what to do. What did fear look like? Well that was a loaded question, what did humans fear? What did each citizens individual fear look like? What was frightening to them personally? She sighed softly and tucked a strand of hair back.

Tybalt had his face pressed against his desk in an attempt to get more comfortable. He was tired, he really was, but these seats weren't that comfortable. 'Course, they weren't really made for sleeping in either. It took a little while longer, but after a few more minutes, he was starting to pass out. Finally sleep had arrived! Unfortunately so did Gargantuan and Sin.

"Jack damn it..." He groaned; ears folding back in irritation. Go figure, the others would show up, just as he was falling asleep.

Heaving a sigh, he sat up and gave a light stretch in an attempt to shake of his sleep. It didn't work... Oh well. If the teacher didn't show up soon, he'd just go back to sleeping. Or at least trying to anyways. In the mean time, there were these two... He eyed them both silently, instantly recognizing the one. Someone like him was hard to forget after all.

G--or Gargantuan, was it? He only saw him briefly a couple times before this. He realized as he returned the wave. One of which was in that other bathroom--but he'd rather not remember that place at all if he could. Now, that just left the other one. The succubus...

His gaze followed her voice and almost sneered when he met her gaze. Jeez! She already had that superior look about her. Though in her defense, he guessed that was to be expected. From what he had seen so far, all demons had that look.

"Your guess is as good as mine." He said slowly, answering both and leaning back in his chair; one eye closed. "He was gone when I arrived too--ah G... G is it? I think your supposed to sign that." He said directing the massive student towards the piece of paper that both he and Sin had signed.

The arrival of the succubus was enough to make G straighten a little, almost bewildered as he watched her saunter over to a seat. She walked funny. Very funny. And for some strange reason, the monster wouldn't have minded if she'd kept walking. She walked pretty.

Shaking his head with a start, the swamp beast turned to look back at Tybalt when the other spoke, his tail unconsciously thumping itself a little. He liked being talked to! "G already did." The beast confirmed happily. "Didn't eat paper this time..."

That was something to be proud of, right?

There was a pause, and the monster seemed to be evaluating Tybalt for a moment. He recognized him, he knew he did, but from where... and then it hit him. And probably not in a way that Tybalt would like.

"Puppppy!" Gargantuan was delighted, mouth open wide in a grin. "Remember you with Puppy." Then he seemed to wilt a little. "No more detention?" Last time he'd gone to what he thought was a class, well...

"Arghhh. Another atrocious room. We are really in the need of some demon teachers. I would like at least one room that didn't smell like a scrag crawled up and died in it." She wasn't talking to any of the students in particular. She was just talking. At least this classroom wasn't as bad as the last one.

"No teacher. Perhaps this class is salvageable after all." She recognized Sin and walked over to sit down at a desk beside her. There was a couple boys around as well. They were cute in a non-demon sort of way though the giant green one looked a bit goofy. Ok, he looked really goofy and it was obvious the poor monster was slow too. Big and dumb. Typical male.

"Heya Sin, Hi boys!" She was pretty happy to be in a classroom with no teacher. "I'm Morrigan, but you can call me Morri or Mo."

She placed Mimic down on the desk and looked around the room. What exactly does fear look like? Doesn't it change based on the individual perspective? What kind of question is that? "Any of you know what fear looks like?" The Mimic began making a coughing noise and spit out a pink ink pen at her. Oh yeah, she had forgotten to sign the sheet. What a helpful little companion he was.

"He was gone? Well that's rude, if we have to show up to class shouldn't they be expected to as well?" She huffed and watched the large green male. G? Was that his name? She looked at Tybalt oddly when G called him puppy.

"Your names puppy?" She asked, maybe it was rude but really puppy? What kind of a name was puppy? She could forgive a name like Sin or G, but puppy? Were his parents sadistic and cruel or what?

The succubus perked up as she saw Morrigan enter and she grinned a half laugh escaping her at the imp girls words.

"There are things in this school that smell worse then dead scrag Morri, you better get used to it" she said teasingly. She was glad to see a friend though and reached out to give the mimic a small stroke. "I was just thinking about that myself, it seems an awfully vague question. I mean isn't everyones fear different?"

Well.. she certainly wasn't the first one to the class, which was something that Shehk found relief in, ears drooping ever so slightly at the sight of the other students when she entered, pausing to look over the paper that had been passed around and scribbling her own name onto it before pausing, looking at the names...
...

looking at the students... looking at the names, and then asking out loud;

"Hey, has someone here not signed in yet? We've got more people here than have written down their names.." she noted, pondering if it would be wise for her to speed up the 'sign in' for people. SHE certainly would like to use it's 'completely filled out' as an excuse to leave if the teacher wasn't around!

Near the front of the classroom was a gawky kid in ill-fitting clothes, a pair of giant glasses on his nose. Every time they spoke, he turned his head to look and pulled a face -- the exact sort of stuck up goody-two-shoes expression that would likely get his head shoved into a toilet later.

It was okay. Goofy as he was, with those too-heavy brows and too-big shoes, he probably was used to it. He might even deserve it.

"Oh, okay. Never mind then." Now that he looked at the paper, he could see the name in green written sloppily bellow his own. He only hoped that was green ink and not snot. But what did he mean by he didn't eat the paper this time, he wondered. Well, just to be on the safe side, Tybalt decided he would be best to make sure that all his belongings were safely out of G's reach. He wasn't going back to Mr. Blobby for more.

He was about to settle back down, to at least get more comfortable, when the the swamp beast said the no-no word. "Puppy?" He stared dumbly back at the massive green student. "Hey now my name's not--" He was cut off by the entrance of yet another student. This one, another demon of some sort and a... Thing? Was that a mimic? He had only ever seen pictures of them.

He stared curiously over towards the small chest like critter, before his attention was brought back to the girl. Morrigan, huh? Well she gave her name, it was only proper to give him his, but that's when he was cut off a second time. This time by the succubus. But this time, he gave the 'are you serious?' look.

"What? No. No my name is NOT Puppy. It's Tybalt. T.Y.B.A.L.T." He almost growled the last part. Angered that she even thought that there was a possibility he could have a name as ridiculous as Puppy. He was so annoyed in fact that he didn't even notice when Shehk entered the room, or that there was another kid near the front of the room.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 07, 2010 4:28 pm

"Hiiiii." G was only too willing to give back a greeting to the newcomer, peering with open interest at the strange, sputtering little treasure chest the girl was carrying with her. "Am G." Morri... That was easy enough to remember and drawl out at random, so there were no complaints from the swamp beast. He didn't seem to notice the little exchange between Tybalt and Sin, focused intently on the girl who'd just walked in.

Luckily, it seemed as though who 'Puppy' was was about to shortly be answered.

"Puuuuppyyyy." The monster's tail was banging happily at this point at the sight of Shehk, and with a curious glance at Sin, he would point to the undead 'doggy'. "He not Puppy, she is. Tyyybaaaalllt." He half-muttered to himself in a vain attempt to keep the boy's name in mind, but Jack knows it'd probably be forgotten before too long.

At the stare from the kid in front, Gargantuan straightened some, curious, but friendly as always. The look didn't seem to phase him much at all, but then again, it was arguable if the monster had even noticed. "Hullo. Puppy sez you should sign in." And avoid detention! "Detention bad." And if he could keep people from getting detention, well, then he was certainly going to!

It was hard to miss Gargantuan EVER. So when it seemed that Shehk had garnered the beast's attention (having figured out that she was 'Puppy' quite quickly), patting the swamp-y-water-creature (She wasn't sure what he was, actually) on the tail.

"It's nice to see you too. Been doing good on avoiding that bathroom?" she greeted, before chuckling. Ha ha!

She'd been kicking gnomes when she passed them by in spite. GNOMES FECKIN' SUCKED NOW. HMMM.
