 Leona stared out to the night. It was a beautiful night to go walking. The mute and deaf wolf headed off the porch and into the fields to go stargazing. Most tended to avoid her since she could not speak or hear. Nonetheless, she still remained optimistic through thick and thin. With or without her brother she was fine, or at least that's what she told herself over and over in her mind. OOC: This occurs when she's still a puppy/child

Lounging near the edge of the forest on a large boulder over looking the fields, a dark wolf lay. She glanced at the large mansion down the slope and growled. All those noisy monsters lived there and she just dared any of them to enter the small area of the woods she claimed as her own. She had changed dramatically over the year since her decision to remain in the forest and live in the wilds. Her fur had grown and her grip on reality was nearly at its breaking point. Raggedy, dirty and beyond mad at the world, Kurai spent her days now snapping at anything or anyone who were foolish enough to get close. She caught movement in the fields but whoever it was, they were worthless to her. More worthless, worthless monsters....

Leona eventually got to the edge of the meadows before noticing the forest. Her brother and her had lived in there for a while, but now for some reason it didn't feel like he watched her anymore. The girl eventually entered the forest hopping to find someone to talk to. She did not notice the black wolf in the distance on the boulders.

Kurai hadn't expected whoever had been moving about in the fields to draw closer to the forest and closer to her territory. The closer the other wolf drew, the more agitated Kurai became. This was her land and she would be damned if anyone was willing to cross into it without her say so. She rose slowly from her boulder and raced to cut the other wolf off before they managed to get further into her territory.
"Hey, did I say you could come here brat?" She snarled, slipping onto the path in front of the other wolf. She looked the other female over, noting the dual colored coat and the strangely familiar dotted markings. Frowning, she waited for a response.

Leona went wide eyed when she caught sight of the wolf she had only glanced at come in front of her snarling. She looked down a bit sad that she had intruded where not welcome. The wolf then wrote out on the ground. "I'm sorry...I didn't know this was your section, honest. I'll just leave and walk elsewhere if you like."

The fact that the wolf before her hadn't stuttered out some sort of reply to her demands only set Kurai further into a rage. How dare this wolf trespass on her land and not have the decency to apologize or explain why she was there. Fur bristling, she flicked her tail and raised her paw, ready to strike the young wolf but paused when she noticed her writing something on the ground. Glancing down at the dirt, she read over the words she had scribbled there and frowned.
"What the hell does this say? I'm not some stupid human!" Kurai swung her paw down onto the ground where the words were and glanced back up at Leona. "I don't have time for you..." She growled, taking a step towards her. "And I don't like rude little monsters that go where they are not welcomed. Do you know what I do to bad little monsters?"

Leona was now terrified of the wolf who seemed to grow angrier moment by moment. What was she to do? With Midyan off on his vengeance plot she was almost left for dead. She wasn't exactly sure how to communicate with her since she ignored her writings, plus she couldn't tell what she was saying since she could not hear. She bit her lip a bit nervous trying one more time to write out the words to what she could not say. "I'm sorry. I was born a mute and deaf, so I can't hear or speak." Leona wondered if she should try acting out motions better. She touched her mouth then ears, then shook her head. Maybe that would work.

Writing in the dirt again was useless and Kurai voiced that displeasure once more with a deep growl and an impatient flick of her tail. She was ready to charge and end this whole ordeal just as quickly as it had started but paused when she noticed the female begin to motion towards her ears and mouth and then shake her head. What did that mean? Kurai was confused and there was one thing that Kurai hated and that was having someone confuse her. With a snarl, she rushed forward and rammed into the female, hoping to knock her off her paws as a message.

Leona fell down to the ground, but made no noise. She slowly got up from the ground shaking. So this female wanted her to go away? It made her a bit frightened, but yet wondering why the territory she had walked into was hers. She looked at the ground knowing it was useless to try to communicate with her. The little pup then walked away not to fast, but not slow either. She wasn't too phased, but she definitely didn't want to irritate the wolf too much.

The poor creature was running away and Kurai felt oddly pleased with herself for driving the offending mutt away from her home. Yet, at the same time, she felt a sense of anger that this creature had dared to even cross into her territory. She had managed to drive her away but she needed to drive the point home. Yes, she had to teach her a lesson that she would never forget. Ignoring the nagging sense that this female smelled somewhat familiar; as if they had a connection of some sort, Kurai lashed out and set her sights on Leona's right hind leg.

Leona fell to the ground with a thud before looking back over her shoulder wimpering. She didn't know what to say or do, but still tried to get away even though Kurai was latched onto her. Why was this female so mean and aggressive just because she stepped into the wrong territory?

There was a time in her life when she could have snapped quickly out of her fury and returned to normal. But that part of her had been beaten out of her when she choose to live in the wild forest. There was no compassion in that world and all trespassers had to be taught a lesson. Everyone around her were monsters... filthy, disgusting creatures that needed to leave her alone!
Kurai shook the leg she had clamped down on to and dug her fangs in. She wasn't going to let go and she hoped she was inflicting as much pain as she possibly could on the intruder. This would teach her, she thought as she growled and tightened her grip, this will teach her to insult me!
Freya never ventured out into the woods. Well, that wasn't true. She often would go out with her darling grandchildren but she never allowed them to venture too far into the woods because she knew the dark creature that lurked there. She had once called her mother but now... now she wasn't sure what was left of that wolf she had called "mother" all those years ago. Something had awoken her from her nap and she felt the urge to go out into the forest. Although she was apprehensive of what she would find, she continued. The forest was quiet and Freya began to relax somewhat. It was as she was letting her guard down that she heard it; the sounds of snarling and whimpers.
"Something is wrong..." She said to herself as she dashed off in the direction of the noise. She let out a howl to try and startle whatever was ahead of her.

Leona yelped in pain from the teeth being dug into her. She tried to pick herself back up to get away, but tumbled back down as she was being shaken. Maybe she should of taken fighting lessons from Midyan at a time like this. She tried to bark out to him, but there was no scent that smelled like his anywhere in the radius. Leona then tried to use her ability of dual sight to see where he was, but nothing happened. Had she lost her connection with her brother as well? Leona looked down at the ground with tears in her eyes not sure what she should do. Perhaps it was better if Kurai would kill her. With her brother gone she had no one to turn to.

Maybe a long time ago, the pitiful yelps and tears of an injured pup would have snapped her out of this rage. But the only thing crossing Kurai's mind as she tugged and shook the leg captured in her fangs was hate. She hated trespassers... she hated weaklings... she hated that this creature smelled like the family that had abandoned her. Her vaguely familiar scent and the feeling that, perhaps, they were family was driving Kurai more and more into a rage.
Kurai released Leona's leg and stood over her, panting and glaring down at her. Pathetic... weak...worthless... This creature wasn't worth her time. She raised her paw, ready to strike.
Freya flew through the underbrush and weaved skillfully between the trees. She heard it; something small had yelped and it was close. As she drew near, there was a familiar scent in the air. No.... not her!
She jumped over a tree stump and slid to a stop in the middle of the path and caught sight of Kurai standing over a small pup. The pup looked injured and even from where she stood, the scene did not look good. Kurai raised her paw and Freya rushed forward. She slammed into her "mother" but caught herself before she found herself rolling on the ground along with her. It would be enough to give her a nice little shock.
"Can you stand?" Freya glanced down at the young pup.

Leona had her eyes shut for so long afraid to open them, but she slowly did before glancing upwards to a dark blue female who had just entered the area. She was not sure who she was or what just happened. Leona looked down at the ground wondering if she was more understanding then the black wolf before trying to write on the ground. "I'm sorry...I'm not sure whats going on, who this black wolf is or who you are, but I did not mean to intrude on anyone's territory." She was going to try to write more but she was shaking still.
