Just beyond the main shopping district of the city lies a small street with cafes and restaurants. One particular cafe catches your eye: a brick wall to your shoulders, and in the middle of it, steps that lead to two balcony dining areas, and then a double glass door with heart-shaped teacups painted on them.
You push open the door and are greeted with a warm, resounding “Itterashai!” from an energetic young Japanese woman. To your left is an open dance floor, to your right tables and booths where you can make yourself comfortable, and straight ahead is the counter, where a young Japanese man smiles warmly and waves amiably while tending another customer.
Welcome to Tea for Two, where the dreams of a young couple to give other young couples a warm and romantic atmosphere has begun to come alive.

The layout of the cafe is quite simple, and yet effective. Outside, there are two balcony dining areas, one for couples, and one with larger tables for larger groups. They are separated by the stone steps that lead down to the street. The balconies are walled in with brick about four feet high, for the safety and privacy of the diners.
Inside, the atmosphere is calm and relaxed. To the left is an open dance floor, with a stage in one corner for live performances of instruments and singers, as well as the weekly open-mic night.
To the right are tables meant for four or six people, and beyond them smaller tables set for two. A few booths line the far right wall, perfect for couples, or small or medium sized groups.
Along the counter, which lines almost the entire back wall of the cafe, are several individual stools, for those who are in a hurry or just want a quick sit-in. To the middle left of the counter are displays of the cakes, cookies, muffins and doughnuts of the day, and just slightly more center than that is the till.
Around the corner to the left of the counter, just behind the dance floor, are the restrooms: one for men and one for ladies, each with a few stalls and sinks. Between the counter and the ladies room is a payphone, kept dust-free despite its disuse.
Behind the counter are the areas that are off-limits to customers: the kitchen, where the food is prepared; the stock room, where all the needed supplies are kept; and the stairs that lead to the upper-floor apartment, where the owners live together.
**NOTE**
Although this is a remake of another thread, the location of this cafe has changed: instead of being located in Tokyo, Japan, it is in the multicultural hub of Gaia.

Name: Kazuki Hamasaki Born: 1986 About: Kazuki was born in a small town in Japan to an average family, and has one younger sister. He is quiet, and won’t go out of his way to make conversation with someone, but is very friendly and open to anyone who wants to speak to him. He enjoys reading books and newspapers, and listening to classical music. He put himself through college by working full time all throughout.
Name: Amaya (Yuiichiro) Hamasaki Born: 1987 About: Amaya was born Amaya Yuiichiro in the heart of Tokyo, Japan. Her family was very wealthy and spared no expense with her education. Her entire childhood was spent in school or with one tutor or another, and on top of her required education, she also chose to learn violin, ballet, gymnastics and swimming. She fast-tracked her way through high school, and though her parents wanted her to go to the finest university money could pay for, but she chose instead to go to a slightly smaller college where she studied psychology and marketing. She has no siblings, and is very cheery and open to absolutely everyone.
Despite their age difference, Amaya and Kazuki both started college in the same year and met during their second year at the College Campus Cafe. While Kazuki was shy and reserved, Amaya held nothing back, and only months after they graduated in 2012, they were married and emigrated to Barton Town. In a mutual desire to preserve the romance in their lives, and remember the place and manner in which they met, they started up their cafe, Tea for Two.
Name: Akiko Hamasaki Born: 2013 About: Akiko was born during the fall of 2013 in Barton Town, Gaia, and her name is spelled using the Kanji meaning "autumn child". So far she looks just like her mother.

Name: Ritsuka Imaizumi Age: 26 Gender: Male Orientation: Straight Ethnicity: Japanese Personality: Studious and hardworking, but has a good sense of humour. Known at times to be a flirt. Likes: Learning, cooking, physical labour, teasing people who react to it. Dislikes: Annoying people, stupidity, people who ask if his hair is naturally pink. Which all go hand in hand. Quirks: Folds his arms when he’s annoyed and doesn’t want to show it; fiddles with his glasses when he’s nervous. History: Ritsuka is the younger of two brothers, and the black sheep of his family. Born to a life of privilege, he chose to leave the family business to his brother and instead followed his dreams to college. Shunned by his family, he worked hard all throughout his education to pay for it, as well as the apartment he rented while he went there. He met Kazuki Hamasaki in their first year at college, a fellow student who actually studied. Throughout Kazuki and Amaya’s romance, he supported them, and he took great pleasure in inviting them often to his apartment for a delicious and fancy meal. Cooking was always one of his hobbies, and he loved the chance to cook for someone other than himself. When he heard about his friends opening a cafe together, he called them up and was hired on as their cook.

In the busy hub of Gaia, this small cafe is new and somewhat unknown - but the 10% off Grand Opening sign out front was already bringing in business. Despite having opened only about an hour ago, the cafe was quite busy - more than the young couple had ever dared hope it would be. Amaya was kept busy going from table to table, waiting on their many customers and bringing them their food, while Kazuki was busy at the counter, and Ritsuka was working like mad in the kitchen.
Very few of their customers were actually couples: it was mostly groups of friends who were checking the place out. But that didn't mean they weren't selling much of their signature dish. On the contrary, they were selling so many that Amaya was glad she had insisted they invest in more of the heart-shaped teacups than Kazuki had wanted. It would be a while before Ritsuka would be able to catch up on dishes anyways.

Shiro had come to the city with Kali so that the two of them could conduct something of a business meeting. Perhaps it couldn't be official - he didn't have a real business after all, he was freelance - but he was very interested in a business arrangement with her. She was smart with technology - brilliant, actually - and he needed upgrades that weren't available to the general public.
"Hey look," he pointed as he and Kali walked down the street of the city, with Ura trailing behind them. "That new place is open. Want to check it out?"
It looked quaint, with its brick-lined outdoor patio with umbrella-shaded tables.
"Probably best to sit inside," he murmured, looking up at the sun. "It's hot ..."
He hoped there would be room - it looked like the place was popular already.

Kali looked at the building, they had thought it best to conduct business off of the clan property. Besides, they no longer had their cafe seeing as Elnara had the twins and the school needed their healer (with Yukito still being in charge of the magic class), and Triton was now teaching (normal high school students he was regretting it now). Besides he had the dojo to look after in his off time.
"That would be preferable," Kali admitted heading inside, "Hopefully not too crowded seeing as most would head indoors on a day like today."
She even had her hair braided instead of loose, it was just too hot to have otherwise.

"Itterashai!" The greeting met the two newcomers as the cool rush of air conditioning washed over them.
Inside the cafe was very busy, but there was one booth that was in the process of being wiped down. The customers had just left, and Amaya had very quickly tackled the empty space so that others could take it. The Japanese woman was young - very young, but she was full of energy and excitement. It was clear that she had to be one of the owners: a simple staff member wouldn't be so ecstatic at being so busy.

"Ohayo," Shiro replied automatically, surprised at being greeted in Japanese. He was certain, though, that they would speak English. Everyone in Gaia did. It was the global language.
He pointed out the booth to Kali. "Perfect timing," he grinned. "Let's grab it before someone else does."
It looked like the only available space in the entire cafe.
"Best be quick," Ura quipped, nudging Shiro forward. He was glad of the air conditioning: it made it quite pleasant inside, despite the crowd.

Kali hurried over without running that is and slide into the booth. She brought out a felt tipped pen like thing and what looked to be a leather book, though the leather was very thick and set that aside.
"Ah... perfect..." Kali smiled.

Once the three were sitting, Amaya handed them each a menu. It was several pages long, but Amaya knew what to do to keep them from feeling overwhelmed.
"Welcome to Tea for Two," she beamed at them, her short stature and bright smile making her seem much younger than her twenty five years. "We're happy to see you! Since it's our grand opening, everything is ten percent off. If you're hungry, meals are on the first few pages, then desserts and snacks, and the drinks are at the back."
She smiled brightly. "I'll give you a few minutes to look it over and decide, all right?"
And without further ado, she was off to yet another table.
