So my loyal minions, what is your favorite sci-fi series? Is it the mentioned above or something else entirely?
Discuss. After all, we all know Star Trek owns everything. ninja

I'm more of a Star Trek and Stargate fan. Star Wars isn't all that great, when you take the light-sabers away.

xD and what?
All of them, though not any type of sequence since I caught them when I could. I did however buy the first two seasons of SG-1. Watched the first, saving the second for when I go back to college. For some reason. xp

Stargate is all around awesome, except Atlantis. That I never really got into.

I just never really got into it. Atlantis, for some reason, lacked the same drawing interest that got me hooked to SG-1 in the first place.

Yeah. if they had gotten better writers it would have lasted longer maybe. I'd have to agree with you Justice. SG-1 could draw you into the story way more then Atlantis. Haven't seen Universe yet. Don't have cable so have to wait until it comes to DVD, and those go down in price.

Tough call.. I like them all and yet there are things to each that really make me not enjoy them as much anymore.
Star Wars: Episode 1-3 are garbage. 4 and 5 are awesome and 6 isn't bad though parts of it were a bit...stupid feeling. Really can't stand the new Clone Wars stuff but the first cartoon version was pretty cool. Games like Knights of the Old Republic and Force Unleashed are really entertaining and help tell mroe storyline well too. The mythos and ideas that come from Star Wars are pretty awesome but lately the only amusement I've gotten from the franchise is people making fun of it.
Star Trek: The original series was cheesy but great. Next gen grew on me after a while but it still is a bit starchy compared to the original to me. DS9 wasn't terrible but it wasn't good either. Voyager was entertaining for a while as well, some good ideas used to try and mix the series up a bit.
Enterprise...fell short. Maybe better writing could have saved it, but it suffers the same problems to me as any prequel series does and ended up being really boring to me most the time. Most the movies suck and the most recent reboot, while taking some clever idea steps, fell over itself with the need to change things up too much. Like star wars, the only amusement I've gotten from this lately is people making fun of it.
Stargate: I loved the series when it first came out. The cast worked really well and the mythos and plots were interesting at least half the time. Some episodes did get boring quick, though there was a lot of interesting concept in them still. I think of the three though this is my least favorite. When Daniel got temp. replaced I stopped watching as much since the new guy was boring and made the other three not seem as interesting. I should have given it more of a chance then though as the show really died to me when Farscape's actors came over to replace the best character in the show.
Atlantis is alright to me. At first I really didn't like it but the cast grew on me slightly and they did have some interesting ideas the first season. The second half of the show got a bit drawn out though and it felt like they really ran out of things to do. Speaking of running out of things to do, Universe, the nail in the coffin to the franchise for me. I am not a fan of BattleStarGalactica's remake so taking the same style and pasting it over stargate didn't take with me. I tried to watch it but it felt so boring I couldn't keep up with it.
I enjoy scifi for the creative concepts and mythos. Characters and drama can be entertaining but a lot of these franchises are decaying from lack of creativity and a thirst for more needless drama. I don't want an offhand romance between characters who shouldn't be together, or to make an episode about the perils of having no water on another planet. I'm more into seeing crazy ideas such as wormholes that connect those planets in interesting ways or dealing with the conflict of an unknown species with unknown customs and amazing weapons not taking too kindly to humans.
In short: I love scifi, but not what scifi is becoming. I love all three shows, but not as much as I used to. I can't really choose just one of them.

Of the choises, i have to say Star Trek, mainly due to that i haven't seen any of the Stargate series ..... but the movie made me bored halfways .... for some reason .... And i utterly dislike the Black/White worldview in Starwars. And no, Mace Windu did not help at all.
In Star Trek, though, the enemies in the Original series, the Klingons, had become ...... a kind of allies .... in the following series.
As for other series i might have chosen instead, I come to think about a kind of "Police series" ... i think it was, called "Alien Nation", the massivly plotted "Babylon 5" ....... and a series about the crew on a starship .... was it called "Andromeda"? It had been a battleship in an empire, but gotten stuck in the outskirts of a black hole for ... millenia? ...... and somehow broke loose, just to find the Empire they fought for .... was gone.

I don't remember too much of it, but what I do remember of Alien Nation was that it was a good show. Babylon 5 I got into for a while, it was pretty good with some ideas. Some of it got to be kind of boring though too. Andromeda I didn't give much of a chance but I couldn't get past Hercules as a starship captain xd
Other good live action scifi shows and movies to bring up with all this that I can think of: Earth: Final Conflict Lexx Doctor Who Galaxy Quest (parody of star trek) Eureka Earth 2 Quantum Leap
