[align=right][color=#c07207][size=11]The dazed look that glazed in [b]Ryan's[/b] eyes when Lorelei first spoke had not been a detail that she missed, and she repressed a disdainful sigh as she realized just what sort of hold she might have on him if she weren't careful. He apologized for interrupting their conversation, but given the notions that something within her had nearly forced her to carry out, she should have thanked him for bursting the tense bubble before something got out of hand. Namely her siren's rather adamant desire to curl around [b]Nathaniel[/b] and make the heir her little puppet, subjective to her carnal whims. The princess waved her hand in the air dismissively, as Nathaniel reiterated that he was welcome within the rooms, and was moreso invited to partake in a conversational exchange with them. It might save her from her siren for just a mite longer, and it had definitely assisted her in resisting the urge to bring the pair together and brush her lips against his own. She couldn't act upon such notions with another in the room, not when such an embrace needed to remain a secret, for fear that [b]Lucas[/b] might swell into a fit of rage.

The princess watched with a well concealed melancholy as the emotions played in the face of Humility's heir. While [b]Nathaniel[/b] hadn't had any problems resisting the sensual promise that her voice often dripped with, [b]Ryan[/b] didn't seem to fare as well. Of course, she'd not meant to cause him any discomfort, had not meant to have the siren call to him, beckon him, will him to become hers. No, Lorelei would never do something so contemptable. But all the same, the siren had flitted to his ears, no doubt whispering sweet nothings in his ear so that he might follow her to where ever she sent him. She swallowed what she imagined was the siren's magic, and tried, cautiously to speak to him without so much as one harmonious note ebbing the air. [b]"The pleasure, sir,"[/b] She painted a smile upon her features, despite the fact that the siren had won out against her intentions. [b]"Is all mine."[/b] The notes lingered, determined to catch at least one of the two men as a spoil. Lorelei reclaimed her hand after the chaste kiss had been laid upon her knuckles, feeling that notions of propriety had been fully carried out. [b]Ryan[/b] didn't appear as though he liked the gestures of formality any more than she did; but, her mother had taught her to never neglect those during the crucial first impressions.

Not that her siren wasn't already sullying her reputation. The damnable beast had done almost everything in her power to let the males around that Lorelei was available, ripe for the picking. That mixed with the air of Lorelei's innocence had been a dichotomy that she knew those here wouldn't grasp, and they'd have to choose which side of the fence Lorelei actually fell. And she had a rather good guess as to which they would choose; the satin timbres of her voice would deem it so.

But [b]Ryan[/b] had regained a bit of his composure, and for that, Lorelei was grateful. He wasn't groveling at her feet, or forcing his wills upon her as a reaction to the voice. For as much as her victims became snared, she was ever trapped within, her siren causing more strife than what most could imagine. It was why be belonged in Lust rather than a virtuous kingdom, but really one such as Justice might have suited her sweet temper a bit more.

He spoke while rubbing the back of his neck as though it were a nervous habit, and asked in a timid voice if the two of them delved betwixt the pages of a book, and Lorelei's visage brightened with a smile. Her head dipped and rose with a small nod, and a musical giggle erupted from her lips at the query. [b]"Yes,"[/b] She answered, trying to be brief but still hospitable to the heir of the Virtuous Kingdom as she avoided the beautiful crystalline color that called his eyes home. Rather, she kept her gaze fixed just above his stare so that the siren wouldn't have that much more of an edge in her endeavors. [b]"I find that the stories within the cover provide a great escape from the world which we call our own."[/b] This was true, and aside from playing her violin and tailing [b]Cat[/b], Lorelei often spent most of her afternoons holed up in Lust's library, lost in a realm that was a far cry from her own.

But [b]Nathaniel[/b] had made a confession of their true purposes for being stationed in the library had been geared towards avoiding the crowds in the dining hall, how they'd not been keen on the company that oft swarmed the area at this point in the day. Amber eyes averted to the dancing flames once again, as though she were ashamed to admit that she wasn't very fond of a few people there, and while [b]Nathaniel[/b] had been very honest about his displeasure, Lorelei wasn't one to like for others to know she was suffering. It wasn't right to lay out the contents of a person's heart so openly, especially when the person in question was but a woman, with a very shaky claim to the title she bore with her name. His smirk encouraged it though, and she couldn't help the words that flew out of her mouth, already regretting them before she'd gotten all of the sounds lifted from her tongue. [b]"It is far more serene and relaxing away from the screeching that inevitably takes place when Sara Bellerose throws a fit for whatever reason she deems acceptable."[/b] Oh, how she dreaded the raking noise that hurled itself from the haughty, self-absorbed princess of Hubris! The very key that she spoke in was enough to drive Lorelei into a migraine, one that pounded as the memory of her screech etched itself into her brain.

She was curious to hear his answer, to see if he was as timid as he appeared, or if she had been the main cause for his bashful demeanor thus far. Had he been here long enough to experience the displeasurable escapades with a few of the guests here? Lorelei nibbled at her lip, chiding herself for being so open and brash as to drop the name of her least favorite person (minus [b]Micah[/b] of course) to a man she'd only just met. No doubt he'd label her a gossip, the stereotypical git that had naught more to do with her day than sit idly and speak ill of others. [i]Wrong impression to give, Lorelei.[/i] Uncomfortable with how she'd just portrayed herself, Lorelei's cheeks tinged slightly to a more pink color against the rest of her porcelain skin, and she exhaled a musical sigh. The princess wanted to beg forgiveness for being so cold to Sara, the woman wasn't even properly here to defend herself as Lorelei's words scored her personality with a superficial dislike, and a deeper loathing for the woman's existence.

However much Lorelei wanted to make the utterances of her apology, she remained silent, waiting on [b]Ryan[/b] to speak once more before her words would weave into the air again.
