He was not comfortable communicating with the opposite sex; his insecurities were mostly caused by the ridicule he faced as a foal. He was spurned by others because of his differences, his black wings set him apart from his siblings and his fellow peers. Mares only added kindle to the flame, when he tried to talk to them, they usually would laugh in his face and call him inappropriate names and say he was not a full stallion. Háidēs shook his head, he would not let his past fog his future, if a mare appeared he would try his best to woo her and convince her that he would be the right stallion for her.

The stallion continued his musings as he walked through the forests, his sapphire cape now and again snagging on roots reaching out of the ground. Chocolate brown eyes were filled with clarity as he gazed around the forest, looking for signs of life other than the tiny creatures living high in the trees. As time passed, the stallion noticed how the world prepared for the end of the morning and the beginning of noon.

Nadia hadn't been to far from the stallion. Just a head was a smaller clearing where she was stretching out. it had cooled down during the night causing her muscles to stiffen, and she felt a little ache because of it. She bowed down letting the muscles pull feeling an instant relief. She was still a little groggy from the night.

Nadia was a very independent mare. Since she was a foal, she took things upon herself, and didn't wait around for others. And she had her mother to thank for some of that. She encouraged her to be her own mare. And one thing that was never taught to Nadia was the idea of depending, or needing a stallion. If she wanted foals, that that would be the means to an end. But right now, Nadia had no room for a stallion in her life.

Her purpose was to great to be clouded by such a thing. She was a Lady Knight, and was doing the work of Justice, and helping those who needed help, and all that noble Knightly stuff. She wasn't even the easiest mare to approach. She didn't leave herself open for conversations, and was often quiet.

Just down the path there was something, or rather someone that would make today, a bit more stressful then usual.

Since he was a foal, he had avoided mares like they were the plague, but something new was waking up inside of him, he wanted to meet a mare and prove to himself that they are not all as evil as he once believed. He had it set in his mind that when he encountered a mare, he would march up to her and introduce himself; it should be an easy task, but the only thing missing from the equation is the mare. Where would he find one out in the dense woods?

Háidēs shook his head, letting his long black bangs to tickle his brow; perhaps today was not the day to encounter a mare and test out his new experiment. The god continued his way down the path, walking slowly so the sapphire cape would not snag on a revealed root and tear. With all his concentration located on walking the path, the stallion did not notice that the path had become a clearing until he was out in the open. To his amazement a mare stood in the middle of the clearing, perhaps it was the day.

With a confidence he usually only showed those who were his subordinates, Háidēs walked over to the mare. She was pretty; her fiery red mane flowed down and was only a few feet off the ground and on her back legs she had markings that appeared to resemble fire. He turned his chocolate brown eyes to her eyes that matched the color of her mane.

“Hello Miss, pleasant day we are having are we not?” Háidēs hid his wince; it really had been a while since he communicated with another living being. He wanted to smack his head against the tree, he finally met up with a mare and all he can do is ask her about the weather? Pathetic.

Nadia looked up and at the stallion. It was fairly easy for her to tell he was different from the 'normal' angeni. But she was humbled by his asking after the weather. Her auburn eyes shifted over the stallion, he had a larger frame, and he seemed to have a air about him that he had seen even experienced alot. He had lovely hair, and as dark as the night.

"That we are... A nice relief from the humidity." Nadia didn't mind the weather talk, she didn't have conversations to often with others these days. But she also wasn't the kind to keep a conversation going, if it wasn't really going anywhere.

"Did you want something?" She went right to the point. It was probably a bit rough on her side, but she didn't like all that p***y footing around, or the beating around the bush.

He was surprised that she actually answered him about the weather; he assumed that the mare would have scoffed and walked away, deeper into the dense woods, but instead she answered the question. Now that he had found a mare and was communicating with her, well sort of, he did not know what to do. The mare’s abrupt question started the stallion, what did he want? He wanted to talk, to prove himself wrong that not all mares are vindictive and conniving.

Háidēs shrugged, he might as well tell her the truth, “I was looking for someone to talk to and test some theories I have.” Since his entire life he had been spurned by those living, it had created communication with his peers difficult and he wondered if she noticed how awkward it was for him to talk to her. With what had happened in his past, he usually brushed off all communication that was aimed his way. Háidēs was out of his comfort zone.

Nadia looked over at him and her ear flicked. "I'm not a genie pig." She stated flatly. She then realized how rude she was sounding, and she rolled her eyes. Her father would have scolded her had he been there. "Sorry, I didn't mean to come off like that. I'm not exactly in the norm when it comes to things. You might be better off asking someone else..."

She turned her body a little bit, wanting to walk away, but she would wait for what he had to say before she did. She mares hair curled around her ankle joint, and she felt a slight gust of wind. She had no idea what he was trying to accomplish, but she had little interest in stallions all around. She didn't need one on her life to feel complete.

“I did not imply that you were!” Háidēs said in a rush, wondering what he had said to anger the mare, his head in a panic. That was not his intention, “Not the norm is good in this situation, since it is the same for me…” His voice trailed off as he watched the mare give a small twitch, like she was contemplating leaving; nerves filled his body, this was his last chance and he was ruining it with his social ineptness. She was giving him a chance to speak.

“I want to learn more about mares, since the information that I currently have is tainted with… prejudicial opinions,” his brown eyes flashed back to all the mares in his life, out of all the mares he encountered only one accepted him for who he was and did not treat him with contempt; that mare was his mother.

Nadia looked at him and then she rolled her eyes. Well it couldn't hurt... To try and help right? She was a knight after all... Though this really wasn't her kind of thing. "What... Exactly can I ... Help you with?" She asked him cautiously.

(UGH sorry it's so short @_@ I thought I posted... a while ago. So I wanted to get something out there. )

He sounded like a blundering idiot, what happened to his usually self-confident self? He should talk to her and treat her like she was one of the many spirits of his realm, “Well, in truth I do not know what to ask, since I have no prior knowledge on this subject,” Háidēs let out a sigh, yes, a blundering idiot, minus the blundering part of that self given title.

Brown eyes looked around the glade, searching for something to ask the mare that sounded educated and thought out, “Back home, many mares make snide comments about the black wings upon my back, do you find me as loathsome and monstrous as they portrayed me to be?” His question was blunt, but he needed to know.

Nadia never looked at stallions as something ... romantic. She viewed them very logical and evolutionary... They were reproductive tools. So when she looked over the stallion that's what she saw.

"Well, you're large, the wings show your superior breed. Big bones. Neutral color... I think you're a very good reproductive partner. You have many if not all the top the qualities needed." She tilted her head slightly at him. She wondered if that was what he was looking for.

If there was a tree close enough to him, he would have hit his head against it multiple times. The way she answered his question made him thinks, she held no bias and did not scoff at him for his idiotic question. Then why did the other mares loath him so much?

“Thank you for answering my question, sorry for bothering you with my pointless experiment,” he gave her a sheepish look, then composed himself and made an internal promise to himself to never attempt these experiments again, for it only made him appear daft and callous.
