It was a typical hot day in Africa. A few wispy clouds drifted across the sky, and a breeze blew in from the west. But the breeze did nothing for Kinder, who was very hot underneath his thick, fluffy coat. His steps grew slower and slower, until finally he stopped to rest under the sparse shade of a scraggly tree. He lay there, his pink tongue lolling out as he panted, trying to cool himself from the sweltering heat.
