Amaidi giggled a bit before pouncing out of the tree, mind you it wasn't a very tall tree, and straight for the unsuspecting butterfly below her. Luckily for the insect at the last second it fluttered off to another flower and Amaidi hit the grass rolling laughing all along. She had decided to take her brothers advice and go out into the world... or something like that and was currently traveling all over the place. She had already met her grandfather and was currently very happy that even though he wasn't yet ready to accept the fact he could be so old to be called grandfather he still very much loved Amaidi. So here she was exploring around and off to go see the fox who had apparently carried her around as a BCR. Well she was aiming for that at least. She had figured out when she got there. She got there. Another way for her to say she was lost (( sweatdrop ))

Mercury was enjoying a pleasant stroll through the forest. Ever since he had grown from a kit he found the trees suited him better than meadows. Not that he didn't enjoy meadows still, but they were better suited for resting or playing than living.
He paused to admire a butterfly fluttering past him when the sound of giggling reached his ears. "Female," he thought, running the sound through his head. "Female, or a kit. Too high pitch for an adult male." Not that females couldn't trounce him if they wanted. Runaiu could certainly give him a run for his money when she wanted!
The sound was coming from the direction he planned to travel anyway. A few more steps forward and his view presented him with a pretty vixen. She was mostly black, like him, but with white and red markings. Very pretty!
He made sure to step on a branch so he wouldn't startle the vixen with his appearance. "Hello," Mercury said, smiling pleasantly.

Amaidi paused in the midst of her playing before being distracted by the sudden voice that had called out to her. Since she was currently lying on her back rolled forward so she was lying on her belly and looked over in the direction of the voice. It was rather deep in pitch signifying a male.
When her gaze finally reached him she noticed he had a black coat with pale rainbow colors. He was very pretty. 'oh wait he's a guy. He would be handsome then' she thought. "Hello there" she smiled sweetly.

Mercury stood there for a moment, then also flopped down on the ground and rolled over. Now the vixen was "upright", but the rest of the world was upside down. Odd.
He smiled though, enjoying the new experience. "I'm Mercury. What's your name?"

Amaidi smiled as the fox seemed fit to join her and looked over at him with another small smile. He had a very nice smile she decided and then tested his name out silently. "Mercury, thats a nice name. My name is Amaidi. It apparently means nonsense." she pointed out smiling.

Mercury chuckled. "Well the nonsense has quite a pretty sound. My name is either after some kind of liquid metal, or a god of messangers and theives. I never did find out which."
The butterfly from earlier came back to land on the brightly-colored tip of his tail. That happened a lot, actually. He just have looked like a pretty flower to insects.

"Why thank you. I am becoming quite fond of my name as well. In your case though since no one is around to tell you that just means you get to choose for your self. I would go with the second one. Brings more of an air of importance doesn't it" Amaidi smiled and then suddenly went really quite as she inched closer to the butterfly to look at it.

Mercury noticed Amaidi staring at his tail, and raised his head up to see what the fuss was about. For the first time he noticed the butterfly. "Oh. Silly things, they do that all the time."

"really I would love for a butterfly to land on me. They tend to fly away although I did hear from somewhere that if there are no flowers around butterflies will often land on animals for their salt." Amaidi pointed out. "of course I guess that sort of takes the novelty off butterflies a bit doesn't it."

Mercury rolled over on his belly, startling the butterfly into flight. "My tail's too bushy for them to get much salt out of it," he chuckled. "I think they just like the bright colors. Maybe I smell nice to them as well."
And really, it was't like the bugs flocked to him or anything. They just seemed to enjoy landing on him more than any other animal, fox or not, he had even encountered.

Amaidi leaned forward to take a small sniff. "I think they're just stopping to admire the colors since they are so pretty. After all you cant get salt from fur." she stated. "you have a good smell but nothing that would attach butterflies.

"Gee, thanks," Mercury said, grinning good-naturedly. He tilted his head to the side slightly, as he always did when examining something. "So, do you travel alone or have you companions?"

"ah well amaidi... oops I traveled around with my dad and younger brother for a while and then I decided I was going to see the world on my own. So just by my self for the most part" Amaidi replied accidentally slipping into her childhood habbit of talking in the third person. "How about you?"

"No family besides my parents, and I left them to go wandering while I was still a kit. Suited them just fine, they weren't the overprotective types," he said, chuckling a little. "I've been traveling on my own, just occasionally running into others. It's nice when you find friendlies, it can get boring being on your own for long periods of time."

"Ah well I apparently have a big family on my mom's side. Lots of Uncles and Aunts and grandparents. On my dad's side just my little twin brothers and him. Maybe his parents. He didnt tell me anything about them. Oh and I have a sort of mom. She took care of me when I was a BCR.... but I havent met many of them." She said. "So I travel mostly with my self. Yes it can get boring at times with no one to talk to." Amaidi pondered.
