 He'd been like a father to her, since her own was no where to be seen. So, when she wasnt with her mother, she'd generally been with him, he had the most wonderful stories she had thought as a pup. But now, as an adult, she could see the truth, and the pain behind his words, she sighed now as she padded towards him, he'd been a super hero of sorts to her, and she still held him in such awe. So, this was going to be harder than anything else she'd ever done.

 The early morning was the best time to hunt he thought, as he dragged his small prey foal back, he didnt do it often, it was easier to just steal a tid bit from another, but sometimes, one needed the release of a hunt. He saw her coming, as a pup she'd made him roll his eyes and groan inwardly, he didnt want her anymore than he wanted a lion chasing him around, but she'd never taken the hint, and after a while..well you couldnt help but grow attached to the little beast.

She paused before she arched a brow at his kill, then without a word she pounced him, a pup like growl echoed out as she then nosed his shoulder as she grinned down at him. "Your up early.." She said as she removed herself from him, shaking out her coat.

"So, it seems are you." He eyed her warily, last time she'd come to him this early, she'd been upset about her father, the b*****d he thought with an inner growl, he didnt deserve the pups, or the female he'd gotten pregnant and left, it just wasnt how real males did things.

"Well, I thought I'd get this over with." she shifted her paws, glancing around before she looked back to him. "Im leaving..my moms pack." She said as if she wasnt sure if it herself really. "I want to go out and see the world, have a taste of adventure.." She smiled at him, he'd been the one to plant that seed, and nurtured it without knowing.

"You cant be serious." He said with shake of his head, "No, the world is no longer a place for free spirited adventures!" He almost scolded her, he'd almost lost his life, and his leg on several different adventures he'd taken before he'd matured, but thats what happened when you were left to your own as a pup.

"Why not? Because Im a girl?" She snapped now, her brows knitting together, "You know better than anyone that I can do this.." She almost snorted as she rolled her eyes, "You just don't have faith in me like you say you do, do you?!" She was hurt, and angry, if she had expected anyones support, it had been his.

"Of course not! You know better than that. Your gender has nothing to do with this!" He let out a growl of fusteration, pacing back and forth, the pleasure of his kill completely gone, and absent of his thoughts. "Yes, I believe in you Nayeli. As I would if you were one of my own pups, hell at this rate your my only pup."
His voice softened now, "I just..I wouldnt know what to do if something happened to you." He looked to her now, if he ever had a daughter, she would be it. She was a smart lass, quick on her paws, slightly sharped tongued and she had an inner pulse that was rare these days.

"Sa'd" She said as she padded closer to him once more, nuzzling under his chin like a pup would, like she had so many times before. "Nothing will happen to me." She said looking up at him, Gray-blue eyes looking into golden orbs before she lifted her head. "Ive learned from the best teacher anyone could want." She smiled.

He couldnt help but smile at her in return, it just wasnt something one did. "That tongue of yours is going to get you in trouble one day." He sighed, "Alright, alright..Fine, you go with my blessing."
He nipped at her ear, "But, you come back the moment you need help!"

"Alright alright.." She shook her head giving him a n** in return, "Now, about breakfast.." She eyed his kill with an open hunger that would have only amused him, she wiggled her brows. "One last breakfast together before I go?"

He shook his head, sometimes she made him think she was still such a pup, but that look in her eye only reminded him, it wasnt the case anymore. "Alright, come now..Lets fill that belly. Before long, your going to be starving.." He said with a chuckle.

"I doubt that!" She laughed, "I can manage to get my own meal just fine thank you." She boasted with a flick of her tail, before she lowered her muzzle and ripped into the still warm foal, she looked up at him. "You could come with me." She offered, but she knew that his back leg caused him to many issues now in his older years to go.
It often made her sad to think about it, to think if she'd never met him now dull of puphood, and life would be.

"Oh no. This is something you must do on your own." He shook his head, they both knew better than that, if he wanted to go out in glory than sure, he could run off into the sunrise with her for one last adventure..but he wanted pups of his own some day..so for now, he waited.
"Eat." He told her, sitting back to watch over her like a father would do his pup.

Her tail wagged once before she dove back into breakfast, her eyes glanced up at him as he watched her. He looked so regal with the sun rising behind him, like a warrior from long ago..
Yes, that is exactly how she'd remember him.
