1.) Do not godmode. This includes hitting people without giving them a chance to dodge, or taking advantage of that chance to dodge every time. You must sustain damage during a battle, and you must allow others the chance to avoid damage.

2.) No powerplaying. This means that you cannot control another person's character without their permission. You can guess what they're thinking, but that can only be a guess. This also means that you must give them a chance to dodge, rather than saying that they just stood there as you hit them.

3.) Literacy is not an absolute necessity in the main roleplay, but it is in the secondary roleplays if the creator of the thread declares that it is. However, you are expected not to use chatspeak while roleplaying in the main roleplay. You can type like that while Out of Character, though you must remember that a few people, including myself(Or maybe just me), will completely ignore whatever you have to say, no matter its importance.

4.) Make sure that you comply with the Gaian Terms of Service and the Gaian Rules and Guidlines. Keep it PG-13. Blood and gore and stabbing random organisms is fair game, but make sure you comply with the listed rules.

5.)

I personally believe that the main should require literacy, and the secondary ones should make it optional.

This'd just be my personal opinion, but I think that a lack of literacy really takes away some of the detail and depth of the Roleplay.

I agree, but past experience tells me that forty percent will be illiterate. I'll change it to semi-literate when I get the time.

Yeah, but even illiteracy for a few seconds is enough to really piss the hell out of me.

Nothing wrong with that, to some extent being strict when it comes to grammer is completely acceptable.

I know I am a large portion of the time.

Strict? I can't stand illiterates. I've learned to not swear at them, threaten them, intimidate them, taunt them, blackmail them, etc., in the presence of either the Official Morrowind Guild or the Official Oblivion Guild.

Each and every one of the above, I have done, and much more. I can not stand illiterates, because they tend to think that illiteracy gives them more intelligence than those who type in a clear, legible form.

I don't use chatspeak, and I don't condone it, nor is it my place to tell people how or how not to type. I can only assume how many illiterates there are on this site. As an educated guess, illiterates make up around eighty percent of Gaia's population, and probably more. I don't even consider them in the same league as myself. I know that this doesn't apply to all illiterates, but I stereotype all of them. If someone joins a literate roleplay in Barton Town, and types illiterately, not only will I refuse to read their posts, which I'm capable of, but I'll tell them that I'm incapable of reading what they posted, while barely hinting that I know exactly what they typed. I've learned that that's one of the best ways to tick them off. After that, I simply ignore anything they say until they improve(something that very, very rarely happens).

I don't even use smilies, unless as a joke. I hate smilies. To me, smilies are chatspeak.

Of course, sometimes they improve. As I said, it's rare, but it happens. One case has posted on this board...

((No offense, Arnix.))
