Should they make a new final fantasy VIII game like the way they have done for VII and X? I think it might be interesting, although a little weird maybe since it's been so long since Final fantasy VIII was made and introducing a new game of it's kind probably wouldn't sell so much since most of the fans consist of older people and not all the little kids that are stuck on Final fantasy VII's new additional games like crisis core and dirge of cerberus, but let's just say that they did, and if so I would so get the game. Despite it's lack of popularity I would be immensely interested in what this new version has to offer if ever one did get made.

I think it'd be cooler if they just revamped VIII. The basic re-release with updated graphics and a few more side quests since VIII was very short even after completing everything.
But knowing Square, they won't do that. If they do happen to somehow tack a sequel to VIII, I'd definitely play it. I do agree that it may not do so well because of the baby fanfags latching onto the VII compilations like parasites, but that doesn't mean the older VIII fans would miss out on it. I, for one, don't think a sequel revolving around Squall is necessary since the ending had closure on his behalf. However, it could be a second adventure revolving around someone else. Rinoa dealing with being a Witch/Sorceress or what happened to Seifer after the end of the game. Maybe something involving one of the other Liberi Fatali (I'd like to see something about Zell, myself.) Or maybe something else entirely, like some background on Ultimecia that gives her a motive besides wanting omnipotence via Time Compression! They do have a lot of possibilities for a sequel but, much to my chagrin, I don't see any involving Squall as the lead anymore. It's just up to Square if they'll actually do something.
A part of me slightly hopes that it won't happen (so it won't turn out like VII) but if it does, I'll totally snag a copy.

nu uh it just wouldn't be VIII without Squall!!! D= Maybe.....maybe he uhhhh......*tries to think of a new plot for Squall* Maybe he needs to go on an adventure to find new ways of pleasing Rinoa?! Damn it I don't know what they would have Squall do but I just know he has to be in a new ffVIII game if they ever decide to make one

they should totally make a new one and definitely do some upgrades. im more interested in the storyline and charcters. hell should make a movie

I plan on writing a fanfiction sequel. I've got a few ideas down, just have to actually take the time to sit down and write it. When I'm done writing it, I'll post it somewhere and put the link for it in the guild. I also want to get a group of people together to try to make a movie when I'm done, which is unlikely but I'm hopeful. If that happens I'll put it on youtube and post the link here too.

I moreso meant live action, but I'll do whichever I can. If I get to do live action, I'll still need effects and stuff for the magic. I already have a few ideas that would give me more freedom with the settings and the magic. Once I'm done writing it and start attempting to do a movie, let me know if you'd like to help out in any way. That goes for anyone in the guild that wants to help out.

Yay!! I feel even more motivated to write it now. Also, the way I'm thinking of doing it, Squall isn't going to be the main character. He will be in it, along with Rinoa, but what I'm probably going to do is create new characters that the story will follow. This is mostly just to make the movie thing easier, so if the movie thing doesn't happen I might go back and change a few things. If you guys want to help come up with names and character designs(like using the tektek thing or drawing them or whatever else you want to try) I would greatly appreciate that.
Random thought, maybe if I can't get enough people to do a live action one, we could try using Second Life. I know you can do a lot of crazy stuff with that. Plus there's already a Garden, and it might be easier to get people to be in it. Maybe just film the stuff we need and do voice-overs. I know you go on it Devoured by Darkness, do you think that would work?

I'll try to do some tekteking and i'll help out with second life......although darkness is gonna have to help me out with second life cause i'm confused as hell in it. anyways i will ensure that I will give my all to make this idea become reality. I want final fantasy 8 to relive it's wonderful past glory! As for the live-action I will try to seek out final fantasy 8 fans. (I know some people that really love this game) Rinoa....I will come up with names also, I don't know if you'll like any of the ones I concieve up on my own but I will keep making names up, give you a list of them, and let you choose and decide which ones you like. I don't know what else you could have me do, but just know that you have my full support and I WILL do anything possible to make this work. Oh and one more thing. SQUALL MUST BE IN IT!!! I guess he doesn't have to be the main character anymore, but ensure that he still does have some major roles in this movie idea your thinking of. Remember, Squall is a valiant leader who was only 17 years of age, yet like no other real matured man in the world could do, he took control of balamb garden as the leader. Appointed this position by none other than the headmaster cid. Who recognized Squall's excellent leadership skills. Squall is also a master of the gunblade. he has bested Seifer on several battles. Squall's determination to be the hero when everybody needs it, knows no bounds. And even though at times he is often pushed a lot to do certain things in the roles hes performed....(has a brainfart and forgets what I said) he still kicks a** damn it!!!! He also brought peace to the world and took down ultimecia....with the help of his friends and seeD comrades.

Actually, Machinimas on Second Life would be extremely possible to do! (I was in a few as a cross-dressing, drunken Silver the Hedgehog. xd ) The people behind Balamb Garden are planning on heading a roleplay there. They're also working on Timber (Dollet was cancelled.) but they aren't very far yet. The whole thing probably won't be up and running until early to mid next year. As for filming "on location", I'll have to take that up with the the Garden crew and learn how to record things on SL. Now I've got more reason to buy that Machinima camera... whee The only thing I've ever had planned out for a bit of a sequel is up on a roleplay thread (that died before it even got started), I can recycle the Sorceress I was planning for it if needed, but that's only if it's necessary. I'm pretty sure the rest of the ideas for it have no place so I'll pocket it and keep it to myself. xd

Don't worry about the Second Life stuff yet. I still have to write it out, and then write it in a script format. I already have a Sorceress planned. I don't want to give too much away here cause other people(and I mean people that aren't in the guild) can come in and read it, but I can PM it to you guys if you want. Maybe you can help me work out some of the little details I'm having trouble with. I think I'll try doing a live action one, and a Second Life one, cause I could probably do more with Second Life.
