The first of those three seemed to have a solution in sight- as Serru was no cannibal. A lovely blue lioness was nearby, he saw, and it seemed she was sort of almost headed in his direction. Coincidence? Destiny? The lion didn't actually believe in fate, but he believed in a thing called love.
Or at least romance.
Or at least the satisfaction of the flesh.
And mmmm, she seemed like a nice lioness to satisfy with. Perhaps his hunger would be satisfied, well at least one of those hungers a lonely male had. He raised his head but made no other effort to move, or even attract her attention. For now, watching her was quite nice.
Sango had no idea she had an observer and a fan. It was her first time away from home and on her own. Her mother had taught her everything she needed to know as far as providing for herself, and the lioness also took on a lot of her opinions too. So though she was now in the rogue lands, she had headed in the direction opposite from that where her mother said he lived. No offense to dad or anything, but… She was not approving of his lifestyle or mate. If it had been a leopardess that would have been one thing. But it was a leopard… She just couldn't wrap her mind around that. And perhaps it was a huge amount of bias ingrained into her by growing up with her strong-willed mother, but she supposed she could just be happy for the two of them. It did no harm to her who her father loved, but she didn't really want to live family life with the two males.
So right now she was… Well she didn't know where she was, but she was out on her own. It was more than a refreshing change of pace from the home life of her pride. Now the only one she hunted for was herself, and that was easy enough. There weren't any cubs around to bother her, and the new scenery was lovely. However, she would miss her mother and the river that was so important to the pride. But there were more rivers out there. And maybe she'd make friends out there, too. Who knows. Even a pride might be in her future. But that was the future. She'd want to stay out of a pride for a while, and maybe even away from strangers.
She had definitely seen the lion perched in the tree, but she figured him asleep- or at least hoped he was. She pretended not to have seen him and hoped her 'plan' would work itself out for the better. But it seemed he had other ideas. He'd raised his head. That meant he'd seen her. Crap. She changed her course ever so slightly away from him. She'd initially intended to head for the tree and rest a while under its mighty spread of branches, but that was before she noticed the male already there.
Serru tilted his head. He'd first thought she was headed towards him, but without really turning, it looked like she was not going to pass nearby at all. Hmm. What a problem, then. He'd taken quite fondly to looking on her lovely blue color. It reminded him of his own mane. Perhaps that's why he fancied it so much. He was a little vain of his looks- but who could really blame him, eh? He dropped gracefully from the tree and landed on his four feet. With his ears erect and alert, he followed her slowly and from a great distance. A low hum was in his throat and in good-nature, he tagged along for a while.
