Giselle was not happy.
No, she wasn't happy in the least. The sun beat down on her light pelt, one she normally took great pride in. However, the incessant dust gave her freckled pelt a dreary look, one she couldn't stand. It simply wouldn't do. This wasn't what she was made for.
Grumpily making her way across the savanna, things went from bad to worse. "Ouch!" she groused, hobbling away from a rock she'd stepped on. With a belittling glance at the sharp stone, Elle let out a loud sigh. She couldn't wait to be back home, where she could be pampered like some little jewel. This rogue life was no life for her.
A sigh shook her dainty form as she limped to rest her foot. Thankfully there was some shade beneath a small baobab tree; she would take what little comfort she could find.

 The teal blue marked cheetah was still in the makings of her pride. It was hard to gather the old pack members from her moving group. Like gypsies but with harems and pure beatings towards females.. They didn't know til Nyoka made a stand those many years back. Making the head lion and head cheetah fight over her. A sad day when they both came to the end of their days then the females grew a little smarter..
She remember one in particular.. Giselle. She closed her eyes... She remember when they used to play when she wasn't being beat in to submission. They used to be close and trying to find her in the old pack lands.. well thats where she went. To see if anyone else was there.. A small basin... emptied of the water that once filled it was their home.. With very little Savannah tall grass speckled about in it. Looking about, as though in search. Only once did she find another here. A lioness and Rosales here.. then Pyaodee just a few days back.. but now she looked on.
She just KNEW the bonds there were made.. would lead them back.. she did too. Softly laying down on a rock. Which there were several of them. In fact, she remembered when her lion step father pulled rocks just to have a treaty with the cheetahs. Sighing.. as her tail flicked and her un-retractable nails held her position for just a moment before gravity held her in place, draping over the rock..Sighing. She remembered when this place was used for grounds of harems.. beautiful females and males that once respected their members.. until the day the rogues came and screwed up all the values they had. Telling of the location. "From so many mistakes.. will come a day when all this land.. is made new. I have found it.. and I am building.. and on day.. It will become the greatest empire.. and it will be nothing like this low dirt made craft that a foolish cheetah and an overly ambitious lion. It will be better...and stronger." Slitting her eyes.. then closing them. Even if it was a horrible.. upbringing. "Yea know Giselle. Where the hell have you been. I've been trying to search you out.." Closing her eyes.. the only friend she knew herself to have. Along with her sister that was adopted in to this brutal up bringing. Remembering at one point all females were treated like jewels in their old pack.. til that diminished. Sighing..
Some did towards the end.. but very lil did.. very little. Her tail flicking.. "I come back for you guys- and your not even here.. What. Did you guys like the roguelands better!" Growling..by this point she wished Mana was around. Or .. did he follow her. Like enzi often did.. she thought she had come alone. Specifically asking for this alone time.. so she could find the old members...

It had been a long time since she'd heard that voice, and part of her had to wonder if she was merely imagining the sound. It rang deep in a part of her she'd thought long-forgotten, a part of her that she'd missed until the memories came flooding back. Her throat closed with emotion, emotion that churned in her belly and worked its way up until it rang in her ears and blinded her eyes with tears.
She didn't want to shatter the moment, to cause it to cease should she be imagining that voice. Elle had thought of the other female nearly every night before sleep claimed her, and the voice, though more mature now, was still so tragically familiar that Elle decided to take the chance that what she was hearing was real, and show herself to who she hoped had miraculously found her.
Still limping a bit from the pesky rock that had impeded her progress across their old pridal lands, Giselle made her presence known. She'd been lingering here, hating every moment of it but frightened to return.. until now. And she couldn't spot where the voice had come from, couldn't tell from which direction. Elle merely called out, a whisper, a hopeful trembling sound.
"H-hello...?"

Complaining. Growling.. Angry.. Like always? But of course such a pretty face shouldn't be angry for too long or her beautiful face would scrunch up. Wrinkle. Such things- Nyoka knew not of and would never. Lifting her head once she heard a faint voice..
Her ears flickering and the smell of another female not much yards away- made her raise her body. Ears up and alert for the new comer.. A faint growl.. it was female. She only knew one made she had faith and trust in to some degree.. and she hadn't met her since they were turning adolesent- when they all parted ways and escaped.
The hello- made her climb the highest point; a tiny rocky hill and looked across the distant lands... Roguelands now..but once was a disgusting pride. Squinting her eyes.. "Hello~" She said in a sly yet tender voice now. From all the shouting- she controlled herself to speak calmly.. Lifting her head regally.. Showing she was a dominate female yet tender enough to approach. One always had to be ready though.. and this beautiful snake of a cheetah- had claws that would likely tare through any flesh.
The air of calm and laid backness.. yet beware. Flowed out of her pores like the calm river. A tail flickering.. watching whom the other was- what they would do.
The sight then brought familiarity.. but of course. Such memories were horrid and hazy until she saw the face. Confirming it. "What brings you~" She called out to the cheetah ~ some few away.. and closing in on her. Noting she was alone- and looking roughed in the way the other walked..

Giselle feared that speaking would cause the apparition before her to vanish like it had so many times before. Could it be? Was she home? Were the Gods toying with her, and this was yet another one of their cruel, cruel games?
And yet, the other cheetah spoke. Older now, but so familiar. So painfully familiar that Elle could never forget the face that was before her now. "N-n-nyoka?" The end was a mere whisper; this was so unlike the pretty cheetahess; Elle never stuttered, she never cried, she found it easier to never show emotion. Less fuss, less mess. But standing before this one, standing before this cheetah, Elle didn't fault the tears that slipped down her cheeks.
"Is it you? Really?"

Her chest was filling up.. Someone.. Was too oddly familiar with the scent.. And she jumped down from her post to the edge of the boarder line of grasses. Only a few trots away from her post.. Flicking her tail.. then straining yet again to see the face.. then it hit her. "Giselle?" She stated. Her heart almost was about to race as she couldn't find the thrust of courage to go up to her. Looking for so long for this girl to have her. Right now. In not so long of a distance...
Take one side step and showing her elegant pelt from the side. She growled..
"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN!"
Taking a few steps toards then stopping to make sure it was her. "It better be you Giselle." Ears back... and purred lightly.. "You've come back to the hell hole.." Lifting her head. Eyeing the other.. Of course overjoyed but she never knew to be so happy.. the other had and it helped her too. To smile.

Elle had not been expecting such a wonderful thing. Not out here, alone, she had hoped to come across something familiar, someone familiar.. but not Nyoka. Never had she imagined she'd see her dear friend again. Too much had happened, so long had passed, and yet here they were meeting again. Happenstance? Elle didn't bother thinking about the particulars. She finally felt as if a piece of her was home, and that was enough.
"It is me, Nyoka!" She limped closer to the lovely cheetah, her paw still stinging from the pesky rock. "And yes, I've come back. Even while I was gone, I was still looking.. each day hoping to find some sign of where the others had gone.."

Once Nyoka saw the limp- it was apparent that the other was hurt and her ears fell because of it. It was her- the cheetah she had been missing for some time. Nodding- trotting towards her in no particular mood other than a slight concern.. before closing in on their distance apart and right before her. One of the most beautiful cheetahs except for herself was right in front of her. Bowing her head lightly.
Before taking a step and softly rubbing her forehead against the other's cheek and taking another step to rub it also against her shoulder. "The others scattered so far and wide that I could not even find them. Some have come with me though~" Taking a side step and looking at her softly. That tenderness of bitterness all in one. "Your hurt.. why don't you rest.. I will see if anyone from our new home is around. Yea know- when do I ever hunt." A slight laugh as she signalled at the rocks just before her. "Lay and we will see about aiding your foot Hm?"
Taking a few steps past her and giving out a call.. so long and yet subtle.. To hear if one of her guards would hear her. They shouldn't have been following- but like she told them. If she doesn't see them- their fine.. because one could never be too careful. Til she really did want to be alone. She did another call- ... standing and waiting.. Her tail flickering slightly.

Giselle felt as if she could finally relax. Finally. The beautiful cheetah, her long-lost friend. Nyoka's greeting was bittersweet and soothing. It felt good to be in the care of someone she knew she could trust. Someone she knew she could rely on, no matter what. It was what had been missing all these days, weeks, months that she'd been gone.
"I stepped on a rock," Elle commented idly. "I have never been good at this rogue-business. I much prefer a more structured lifestyle." Moving towards the rocks that Nyoka had gestured at, Elle rested on her stomach with an audible sigh. Her ears perked as the other cheetah called out, but she kept quiet as she waited.

(( Using a NPC because we had some debate on bringing another in ;; ))
She looked at her friend. Slitted eyes and she looked over how rough the roguelands had treated pretty much everyone she met. She did another call before a guard had made himself known and trotted up to her. Bowing his head as he looked over to the new female.
"Arg... I wish it would have been Mana to follow me.. but I guess you will do. Go and catch something~ make yourself useful." Eyeing him up and down as her tail flickered almost irritably. Her paw brushing him off.
"As you wish m'lady." Bowing his head then making himself scarce. "A rock." She stated as she followed Giselle in to the shade of the rocks and laid herself upon one lazily. "When did you become so weak~." Stating with a rather light laugh. "Don't worry.. the pride is made with soft rock~like sand. Hopefully you can make it through that." Smirking as she looked out in to the plains where she saw the bouncing dark and handsome cheetah go off on search for food. "He should be back soon so he could carry you to the pride. Its a little ways away. It's better than this..Shi*hole." Looking over her shoulder to the fallen dens- and shattered rocks. Their home was nothing but plains now.. but she found a better place. Going back to looking at her.. she had become an adult- a leader and it was natural to show it...

Elle sniffed daintily. "I may be weak, but I am beautiful," she offered a smile to her friend. "You know me, I have never been the rough and tumble type." She spoke the words almost distastefully. "Unless, of course, the situation calls for it." Even if the situation did call for it, Elle was usually the last one to offer assistance. She was a little too vain for animalistic tendencies.
"I cannot wait to see the home you've found us," she continued, watching Nyoka carefully. She'd matured, grown more beautiful if that was even possible. The rank of Boss Lady suited Nyoka rather well, Elle thought to herself with a smile.
