I know it is only August, but depending on your path the time for the festival(s) of the dead could be fast approaching. Some paths celebrated their festival in August, others October. Anyone else here love this time of year? Any recipes, rituals, special spells you want to share?

I celebrate it at the end of October. I usually have a dumb supper if anyone I know has passed. Other than that, I don't celebrate it much.

I was plan on doing something nice but it never seems to work out for me. Typically, I do an offering and a prayer. Maybe even light a candle. In my fantasy world, I would have time for a nice celebration in honor of the dead with food, music and a bonfire but no such luck as of yet.

The only festival that I've done for the dead before was the Dia de los Muertos. Where you decorate your family members' grave(s) and then have food and music. I'm not sure if it would be a pagan festival because it did start out as much with the Aztecs, and then the Spainards came over and integrated it into their Catholic religion.

A Dumb Supper is similar, though you don't decorate their graves. Not sure why you couldn't incorporate it though. What I do, is I set up a dinner, and put out a plate for everyone that I know that has died in the past year.
