Serenity had become even more restless in the past days and she had been constantly wandering. She had recently visited her family but they were all doing their own things nowadays. She still had a connection with her sister but they hardly conversed anymore. It seemed like everybody was moving on with their lives except her... The mare wandered around the forest aimlessly wondering if she was going to come across any strangers these days. Serenity noticed some hoof tracks in front of her and she began to follow them. It seemed like a few soquili had recently been through here and maybe she would run into them.

Drashi had been out all morning just walking up and down the same path as he followed his duties for the herd. Ever since the attack by two pure skinwalkers there had been whispers and fear running through the Miakoda herd, and although no one had been injured and Maion had managed to drive back all those involved things where just.... different somehow. Something Drashi expected wouldn't simply go away over night.
Yet Drashi wasn't complaining, he was enjoying the extra duties. It gave him time to think of something other than his broken heart for a while. First his sister had been taken from him, then the mare he believed he loved left him and took one of his sons with her..... and where did it leave him? He felt lost, alone and confused. So much so he was doing everything not to think. Burying himself instead into his duties.
It was at that moment he heard something behind him, instinctively he turned to see a shadow approaching him, and something... white... skull shaped.... standing out. Surely only a creature of evil intent an doing would wear such symbols?
He moved swiftly, charging in their direction as a battle cry left his lips. His front legs lifted into the air before pounding down on target. A good hit that made him grin with pride. Nothing evil would threaten what remained of his family and herd... not while he was on duty!

Serenity's heritage was a cause of concern for some soquili. He father, Reaper, and her mother, Angelique, didn't exactly have great reputations. It didn't help that they didn't look like the most friendly soquili either and Serenity had inherited some of those traits. Though, she was exactly opposite and she was one of the purest soquili out there.
Serenity didn't even see the stallion coming at her and she was completely caught off guard when she felt the direct contact. She was a petite mare as it was and she definitely wasn't built for any physical contact. The wind was knocked out of her as she felt herself flying backwards. She felt completely helpless as fell to the ground and and attempted to regain her breath. Serenity managed to choke out a single word, "S-stop," and she continued panting wondering why the hell he attacked her in the first place.

Drashi froze as he heard he creature plea, it was something s soft and angelic sounding that it shook him. He stepped back and for the first time actually saw the creature he had attacked in his haste.
A uniangeni.... by appearance.... and they where said to be some of the most gentlest souls around. Maion, the guardian of the herd was one of their kind as was two of his children. And here he was attacking one of them! How could he? Maion had told all the protectors to focus on skinwalkers and those who proved their evil intent, allowing all others to continue to pass through their lands unharmed.
He just stared at her for several long moments as the horror of what he had done sunk in, he had been so consumed, so angry that he had done something..... unforgivable. "I...." he hesitated, closing his eyes for a moment to gather strength. The image of his sister appeared before him and he knew in that moment he should never had judged anyone by their appearance along. Slowly he opened his eyes and continued, "...am sorry." He bowed his head low, "Please forgive me, in my haste it seems I attacked without cause or reason. I shame myself" He raised his head slowly once more and then a most desperate thought caught him, so much so he found the words stumbling out of his mouth before he could stop them, "Did I hurt you? Are you ok? Do you need a healer?" Several of the words merged together in his haste and he had no idea if the mare had even heard him. His main concern was seeing to it that she was alright.

Serenity was still stunned and comprehending what had just happened. What did he think that she was going to do? She was not the type to get angry but she just wanted to know why. Was he going to continue attacking her? From the look of him, he was an angeni and they were gentle creatures too. Nothing seemed to be making sense and Serenity obviously was not thinking clearly.
Then she heard the stallions voice and she tensed up waiting for the next blow but it didn't come. When she heard his apology, Serenity relaxed and felt her breathing return to normal. Still collapsed on the ground, she wanted to wait a little before getting back up. Serenity looked up at him as he spoke and there was no way she could be angry with him. He was just protecting his territory and she was intruding. "It's okay. I'm fine." She attempted to get up slowly but felt herself slump back on the ground.

"Crap..." he cursed, more to himself than to the mare. "...maybe I do need a vacation after all." Then he looked at the mare again, his shame at attacking her clear on his features. He had to do... something, anything... to make up for his attack. "I will completely understand if you say no after what I just did. But..." he hesitated a little and looked to the ground, what was he doing? He hadn't taken a mare to that place since she had left him, why would he do so now? Moving forward. Maybe that was it? He continued to look at the ground as he spoke, hoping that she would not see the sorrow that laced his eyes. "Could I interest you in some fruit? I grow them myself. Its the least I can do for attacking you." Growing fruit had been, well, a hobby after his sister had passed and the Miakoda herd had taken him in. It was only a small patch really but he visited it every day and tended to the plants as he thought of his sister. There, in that little patch she was still alive and with him. Still dreaming and smiling and getting him out of trouble.
If only that was really so.

Serenity slowly got up onto her feet but she was feeling a little wobbly still. Hoping that the pulsating feeling going throughout her chest would go away soon, she gazed at the stallion and noticed the familiar wings and the strange wraps around his limbs. "Fruit?" She seemed to still be a little dazed but she nodded her head meekly. "Sure. What kind of fruit?" He seemed to genuinely be upset and sorry for hurting her so she wasn't worried about him attacking her again. Maybe if she was around him long enough, she would be able to figure out why he had attacked her.

"Would you like to lean on me? Please don't strain yourself.... if you need aid I can go fetch some!" He said as he watched the delicate looking mare struggle to her feet and wobble towards him.
"Well... I grow a variety, I tried strawberries for the first time this season but I think they still need time to rippen." He had been avoiding strawberries all these years because they where his sisters faviourites but it just seemed... well, right to do so now. "There is an apple tree, some berry bushes, rasberries and gooseberries are particularly nice at the moment. My pear trees seem a little empty except at the top but I can fly up and get you one if you wish.... eh...." he paused to think, "I think thats it at the moment." He smiled softly at her, trying his best not to let his guilt overwhelm him. "Is that acceptable?"

Shaking her head, Serenity would be able to make it on her own but just a little slower than she would have liked. "It's okay. I should be fine." Smiling at him, she moved towards him already regaining her composure. She kept telling her that a little hit like that couldn't take her down! "That sounds very pleasant and delicious. Please, lead the way." She flashed another smile at him hoping that he knew that she wasn't upset at him.

"I'm glad..." he said as he turned to walk beside her so that if she decided she needed to lean on him after all he would be there. "I.... go to a lot of effort to encourage them to grow, I hope they taste nice for you. Some can be tangy." The curse of all fruit he suspected, some where nice others not so much.
He was starting to relax around her, she didn't seem to ask questions of him nor did she seem to blaim him. That didn't mean he would let himself off the hook so easily but it settled his heart a little.
"So..." he asked curiously as he let her to his fruit patch, "what brought you to these lands in the first place? Just travelling? Or are you looking for something or someone?" They had had a lot of people travel to the lake to look upon the moonflowers but since the attack they had been requesting people avoid the central herd itself for safety purposes. Of course they where still offering shelter and aid to all those who needed it.

Serenity walked alongside the stallion and looked over to him as he spoke. "I'm sure they'll taste fine." She was really just happy with anything especially because he was being so kind enough to share food with her. Pausing, she contemplated the reason why she was around here and then realized that there was none.
"I really was just wandering around and exploring a little bit. I've never really been in this area before. I'm sorry if I intruded on your territory or something though ignorance does not excuse my mistake." Mistakes happened so she might as well make the best of this situation. Maybe she could make a new friend or something?

He grinned proudly as she spoke, he really did hope they tasted nice as well. "This way," he said softly as he turned left through the thickening trees. Drashi often found it strange that the trees here thickened and then thinned to revealed his little patch, it was probably the reason why he picked -a natural protection of sorts. Others tended to avoid thickening trees unless it was foals playing hide and seek or something....
"Ah," he smiled softly, still worried and upset that he had harmed her. "Well... to be honest my herd, the Miakoda's are very accepting to others travelling on their land. Its just... well...." he hesitated, not sure if he should be sharing herd information or not but as he looked at he got the feeling that a) he owed her an explaination, or at least a partial one and b) she wouldn't use the information against the herd -after all how could telling her of a recent Skinwalker attack aid her if harming the herd was her plan? Determined he continued, "...we had two pure skinwalkers attack these lands not too long ago so we have had a few extra eyes watching the borders."

Serenity continued to follow him and she also noticed the trees wondering how there was even room for a garden. Looking around at the trees, she felt safe in the forest and she gravitated towards the shadows of the trees. Listening to him speak about his heard, Serenity was sad that this herd had to go through a seemingly random act of violence. Skinwalkers were that way... They never felt remorse for the pain that they caused and her family tried to stay far away from them. Though, they were careful to stay away from her parents especially her father. If anything happened to his children, he would bring down the wrath of hell upon them and being skinwalkers would not save them.
"I'm so sorry to hear that. It's really unfortunate that something like that would happen." She hoped that their herd would quickly recover from the attack and now there was no way she could blame him for attacking her. He was just trying to keep his herd safe! "The extra protection is a good idea and I really shouldn't have intruded on your territory."

"Yeah... Kimi.... that b***h." He spat it out with passion, since she was some sort of relative of Maions -adopted sister or something like it he assumed since Maion was an Angeni- she kept trying to come back. Usually her attempts where merely to Maion but when she brought another and attempted to go after the herd it was a step too far and Maion had punished her harsher than he had ever seen. She was now banished from these lands with no acceptance of her presence -breaking the rule would result in her death. Something that didn't bother Drashi at all. He would happily kill her.
He stopped suddenly to look at her, "No.... I shouldn't have attacked you." He sighed, "we can do this all day but I feel neither of us will back down... perhaps we should both try to pretend it didn't happen and start again or something?"
Turning himself so he was facing the mare he lowered himself into a bow -a move of trust since he wouldn't be able to see her as well from this vantage point. "My name is Drashi, fighter for the Miakoda herd." It only occured to him as he offered his name that he had not done so already -how rude of him.
A slight breeze rumbled through the trees and with it he could smell the delicious and juicey scent of the fruit patch that was literally only seperated from them by a couple more trees.

Frowning slightly, Serenity was sensitive to profanity but she quickly shrugged it off. There wasn't a single bad bone in her body and she did not appreciate violence or anything of the sort. She understood it was necessary and a part of life but she really wanted nothing to do with it. She really was a completely peaceful soul. "That sounds fine to me." Smiling softly at him once again, Serenity couldn't hold a grudge even if she wanted to.
She was a little surprised when he turned to bow at her and she nodded her head slightly in return. "It's a pleasure to meet you Drashi, my name is Serenity." She made a mental note of the name of his herd; it was good to know where herds were located so that she wouldn't run into this kind of trouble again.
