Mmmm, it was sleepy-time.
For Laini, sleepy-time could be anytime of the day - due to her disability meaning all she saw was darkness, she didn't need to wait until the sun disappeared to be able to get to sleep. She just decided she was tired, found a comfy place and curled up in a ball. Pala always told her she was silly for sleeping in such a way, and that it must be uncomfortable. But it really wasn't! Laini found wriggling up and curling into a fetal position made her feel...safer. More protected. And that way she could cuddle Jicho, which made her feel less lonely.
In reality, it was midday. The sun was high in the sky, and Laini was sheltered under a large rock in the middle of a field of long, dry grass. There was a small lake to her left, where she'd spent the morning swimming, and she was now sleeping through the afternoon before she headed back to find Pala this evening.
All in all, life was seeming pretty nice.

Tarishi walked separate from Hermes this afternoon, two things out of the norm. Usually the pair flew across the land and they were always together. But Tari didn't need to hunt and Hermes did, so when he was hungry enough to tell her (Which was usually starving, oh she hated when he did that to himself), they landed and moved away from one another so she didn't scare his prey. She walked quietly so as not to frighten anything off, glancing over at her friend as he bobbed along looking for reptiles or small mammals or whatever to eat.
He was her best friend and she really hated how he always put her before everything else. Well, she loved the attention and caring, but she didn't want him starving or exhausting himself because he didn't want to "bother" her. She loved him very much and it would hurt her deeply if he came to harm because he was tending to her needs far above his own.
There was a small pool of water not too far ahead of her and a nice big rock that she could tell would cast some nice shade. She could rest there while Hermes hunted! With a smile, she headed over as quickly as she could without being loud and rounded the rock for the shady part.
Only to find it was already occupied by another goddess!

Laini wasn't one for disguising herself. Due to being blind, she couldn't really tell just how bright she was, or just how much she stood out on the African savannah. She found it difficult, too, since she had to focus on what she wanted to appear as, she she didn't know what she wanted to look like. Knowing what things in general looked like was a difficult concept for the Goddess to get around - though was it becoming easier, with the discovery of her temporary powers.
Jicho was the first to rouse, alerted by the sound of Tari's footsteps. The bat looked up from his position in Laini's paws, blinking once, twice, before giving a surprise yelp and attempted to launch himself into the stranger's face, and scare her away from the vulnerable young Goddess.
He didn't count on being pinned down by Laini's paws, however.
The loud noise woke Laini, who blinked her blind eyes open, taking a few minutes to adjust to the situation. Aware Jicho wouldn't be in such a state without good reason, she huddled backwards against the rock, hugging the bat to her for comfort as she gave a soft whimper, blind eyes darting about, not knowing where to focus, "Who's there!?"

"Eek!" Tari all but screeched in replied, startled by the bat's actions. She took a couple of steps backwards, tripped over a stone, and tumbled with a splash into the pool. She wasn't in deep enough to fully submerse, in fact, once she sat up, the water only came up to about the blue on her paws. But she was soaking wet from head to toe, not too terrible for the hot weather, but she wasn't terribly fond of being wet unless it was on purpose.
"Well, that was totally dignified," she mumbled to herself, trying to shake some of the water from her fur and feathers. As she was doing so, Hermes came running up at breakneck speed, taking wing when he was a few leaps away so that he could float down into the water beside her, rather than run in and splash his goddess more. He'd been drawn by her outcry, afraid something had happened to her. As soon as he was in the water, he sped around her, checking every bit of her to make sure she was alright.
"Tarishi, goddess of Messengers," Tari finally gave the other goddess an answer as she pawed at Hermes, trying to get him to either calm down or go away. He merely pecked lightly at her paw and went on to grooming her hair.
