AIM Log: Greenie 0_0 & _ p a o cx

Phaethon trudged lazily through the savanna, his eyelids drooping and his paws heavy from the distance traveled. This was the perhaps the furthest he'd gone since becoming a Dunzi, and while he loved his job he just couldn't help but wonder exactly what had made it so attractive to begin with. Probably because it meant he could do a little bit of traveling. He'd been stricken with a touch of wanderlust, so it would come as a bit of a surprise to those familiar with him to hear him griping about his current situation. With a sigh he lifted his head and, to his delight, caught sight of a cluster of trees in the distance. The prospect of rest couldn't get him to quicken his pace, but it lifted his mood quite a bit. And so his trudge continued, albeit now with a slight bounce in his step.

Kaito was a wandering triumphant little fellow, he's only hit juve and has exceeded most in experience. He thrills himself with meting new species and encouraging others. Today was a beauty, the sky was glorious and clear,it's blue nearly jumping at him, he passionately strived to find a mate as beautiful as Aminah, whom he'd developed a large crush on since his recent growth. he hadn't seen her in ages and felt a little mopey about it. Though his moping never lasted long, today was no different. His sleeping form awoke after a trying moment of depression with a refreshed feel and a new step. he stood up and yawned, stretching his body, pelt popping as his muscles shuddered and then relaxed.

"Beautiful day to day..!" he proclaimed happily, he moved forward and dipped his head, he didn't bother scanning his tree clustered home, if there was danger his Father surely would have gotten him and strangers never usually came in here. He began lapping at the water slowly, breathing in through his nose, nostrils flaring then relaxing in a repeated motion, tail behind him flowing side to side and to-big paws spread in a supportive stanec. He was at ease, happy and in no way aware of his coming company.

Though he moved at a snail's pace he did eventually reach the aforementioned cluster of trees. Upon entering he immediately caught the scent of water and unconsciously made his way over to the little watering hole within the tiny oasis. He immediately dunked his head into the water as soon as he was able to and he took his fill, not paying any attention to anything or anyone around him. He calmed down a bit after that and, once he pulled his head out of the water, he collapsed into a heap right at the water's edge. He was still awake, but he really couldn't get his body to move anymore. It was normal, of course, since he'd pushed himself way past the limit the past few days.

He stared across the watering hole and saw that he had company. Clearing his throat, he decided to call their attention. The way he was now there was no way anyone could think of him as a threat, but it was better to be safe in these situations. The other still looked a bit on the younger side so it's likely that its parents were around as well. "Hello," he called, slightly strained. He didn't really know what else to say...

Kaito grimaced at the sound of a collapsing creature then looked up in time to spot a large male, adult lion. He admired him for a second then smiled slightly. The male seemed exhausted and thus Kaito felt no danger would come to him and called in return. "Hey there." He said, paws pulling forward and rump hitting the ground, not yet ready to just wander all over to the stranger. "Why so tired.. you aren't glum are you?" He asks, his tone relaxed and smooth, he was young so the pitch carried at a higher frequency, though it was still fairly deep.

He fluttered his eye's, a bug bothering him a moment then he stared again, almost yawning, but stifled it. His lazy day was taken over by company who now sought his attention.

Rolling onto his side required much more effort in his current state, but he wanted to be able to look at who he was talking to. He would have shrugged at the question if he could manage it, and after a failed attempted he simply snorted. "Ah, over-exerted myself," he replied. "A bit of rest and I'll be good as new." Phae looked over the juve that was lying just a few feet away, somewhat grateful for the company. Traveling usually meant many a day being alone, so there was always a point during which even a normally very solitary lion like him would actually want someone else around.

"Are your parents around here too? Or are you on your own?"

"Rest is so good, for the soul and for the physical of us." He eye balled the male andfelt a bit more trustworthy of him, this struck Kaito and he got up and began to move around the water protecting him from possible danger. He was still smiling, but his steps were visibly wary and unsure. He took no more then 20 steps to get aound the waters edge to reach the male and paused not mcuh further from then then a good pounce. He then sat and even laid down, trusting the fellow.

"I'm by myself right now, my Dad isn't to far off, i just prefer to be on my own if i can help it. What about you? Where are you from, how did you exhaust yourself?" Kaito was easily excitable when it came to meeting someone and getting passed that first little bit wasn't so hard, he became much more chatty now and his tail flick showed his anticipation.

"You're not kidding," he commented with a grin. The juve moved a little closer before he answered Phae's question, so the male used that bit of time to rest his eyes. He closed them for only a moment, and when the other started talking again he opened them. "I'm from a pretty far off place," came his answer. "Too far, actually. This is the farthest away from home I've been, so I'm just tired from the long journey." Somehow his answer came off as a little boring, what with the anticipation the juve was exuding. Still, there was no helping it. There was no way to embellish the story even if he wanted to.

"I'm Phaethon, by the way. What's your name?"

He watched slowl, considered the closed eye's and was warmed by the lions attempt to tell his tale. He admired the pushing of his words and the strength he saw coming from teh male. "Far off, perhaps you'll tel me more about this far off place later on? When you're more up to it!?" He said happily, showing his joy in just meeting someone new. He was no where near upset by the little story.

"Kaito, Kaito is my name and learning is my game!" He said, head raising proudly and tail flicking a little more. He was very proud of his venture, or conquest to learn all he could.

"Kaito," he said, rolling the name on his own tongue just to get a better feel for it. "I'll remember it." Phae smiled at the younger one's energetic reply, as it was rare to come by someone his age who's all too eager to learn. "I wish I had the same views on learning when I was your age," he said, chuckling a little bit. "I remember dreading lessons up until I was an early adolescent, when I met my current mentor." Thinking back, it had been some time since he met Mai. Thanks to her he managed to get over a lot of his personal issues and struggles, it's not surprise he's come to admire her as much as he does.

"Your father must be proud of you."

"Him and I talk rarely, I mean real conversations." He feels his head lower without trying, he wasn't ashamed, just saddened by it. "I fear I might have been closer to my Mom, she's where I get my love of learning from. She digs for things to look at. I didn't really know much about her. I don't even know where I'm headed to be honest." He chuckled softly and moved more towarsd the male, closing the gap, forgetting safety and lays there next tohim. Head resting on his paws. "I wish I had a mentor." He nods slowly. "I'd treasure every word, I'd be willing to learn how to fight if it were from the right person." He sighed and let his head relax.

"Mm, well I never knew my own father. I've heard stories about him, though none I'm willing to believe." Some part of him wanted to, mind you, but with the disappointment he'd experienced in his younger years he couldn't imagine being let down yet again if his father wasn't truly who they said he was. "In any case, whether it shows or not I'm sure he is." He patted the other on the back reassuringly. "Perhaps you're going to look for where your mother is?" he offered a piece of advice. It was never a good idea to travel without knowing one's destination. It was a surefire way to get lost; he knew by experience. "I was lucky to have found a mentor," he comment, not really sure how to continue. "But who knows. You might find one sooner or later, right?"

"I hope I do, woudl be fun having someone to teach me all the time!" He nearly gasped, having a teacher was his dream, to be a teacher was a dream he hadn't yet dreamed up, but had a knack for. He soaked up knowledge like it was nothing and coudl spit out random things on a whim. "What do you do, besides travel long distances from your pride?" He laughed softly at his comment. it was dangerous to just be wandering the roguelands. he prided his imagination in the monstrous lions he pictured were out there. He was never to fodn of that stuff himself. his cautionary ways of approaching Phae showed this, "I like traveling, but a steady home would be nice. Some place to really settle down." He nodded firmly.

He watched the other, deciding that despite the gap between him and the cubs in his own pride (which was mostly his fault for being so strange most of his life) he was rather fond of them and that it'd be nice if he had his own someday. Someday soon, maybe.. hopefully. Not that anything besides a student-mentor relationship existed between them as of yet. Sighing upon the realization, he put his thoughts to better use on the question the younger one had asked and shrugged. "It's my job, actually. I have to gather information about the prides around us, sometimes even further beyond where I would normally have to go, and bring the information back to the head of our pride." Then he nodded, smiling as he made the last statement. "Of course, I always have a home to go to. I didn't always consider it my home before, but now that I travel a lot I've realized exactly how much of a home it really is for me. Someday, like your mentor, I'm sure you'll find a pride you can consider your home."

"Thanks Phae." He smiled, he always forgot how young he was, he felt as old as ever, not just a Juve with a head filled with silly questions. To many of them he figured sometimes. Like why is the sky blue? He sighed softly, wondering what exactly this lion was thinking and by surprise he asked a question he didn't knwo woudl answer his question. "Do you have any family.. cusb of your own?" He figured e'd been safe so far, no question stirred this male, nothing was sensitive. He didn't really mean to ask, but it came out and he stood by it. "Just out of curiosity.. you don't actually haev to answer it." He giggeld softly, his cubblyness leaking out.

Phae shook his head, a bit of dirt that had caught on his mane getting shaken off as he did. "Ah, sorry," he apologized with a chuckle. "Can't help that sort of thing sometimes. Anyway, no I don't have a family yet. I have someone in mind, but she's got other priorities as far as I know." And again, his thoughts went back to Mai and he sighed a little sadly. "Someday though. That word comes up a lot, if you haven't already noticed." He laughed and let out a rather sleepy yawn, surprising himself a bit. He hadn't felt sleepy when he got there, just tired. With a shrug he decided that it'd be better to get some sleep now anyway, as it was much too hot to get out traveling again, so he glanced at the juve and smiled a little apologetically. "I'm sorry, but I'll have to get going in a while and I'm a little sleepy right now. Would you mind if I took a little nap right here?" He was sure this young one still had plenty of questions ready to throw at him, but they'd just have to wait for now. Maybe another time, if they run into each other again.

Kaito wasn't completely shocked by teh sudden want to sleep, he had noticed that the lion was sleepy to begin with. "Then perhaps another day Phae, I hope we do meet again, someday." He smirked at his 'someday' comment. He giggled softly and leaped away. "Sleep well big guy!" He bellowed before disappearing away to his bushes and trees, where he'd started out his little adventure.
