The Family
Nkosana: the father, is your typical lead stallion. He is loyal to his family and friends. He cares greatly for the mares in his herd and the offspring, especially his.
Shoshana: the mother, the fiesty lead mare. She is fiery in nature and a devoted mother. This is her second pregnancy but the only successful one so she is a little protective.
Helki: the maternal grandmother, Shoshana's lovely and petite mother. She doesn't know that both her offspring have reproduced.
Raawiya: the aunt, Shoshana's adopted sister. She was found as an egg by Helki and her mate at the time.
Midra: the other aunt, Nkosana's sister. She and Nkosana are very close. She is aware of the new additions.
Mosi and Inkosazana: the siblings. Still eggs.
Other Family: Rajah, Shoshana's father, and Myrrith, Shoshana's brother. Both have vanished. Dafina, Myrrith's first mare and the mother of Asadi and his brother.

Response: Living up to his name, Adwin is a rather... well creative Kirin. Having a keen eye, swift nose and an ever running mind, Adwin has always been fast on his hooves. Finding a solution to a problem is his specialty. The thing is.... his solutions ten to be... rather out there. And whats even more amazing is more often then not, his wild and crazy solutions work too! But more than just solving problems, Adwin has a knack and a love of creating things. He loves to use any materials around him to create abstract and odd pieces of art, like large stick figures that may or may not resemble anything. Tools to help him dig in the dirt, or glittering objects he may hang from a tree or bush to catch the sunlight and create a dazzling display of glittering lights upon the earth's surface. He uses his horns, mouth, nose, hooves, anything he can to scoot, sort, shove and stick various objects into various places. And with time his creations seem to get better and better.
Adwin also has his mothers curious and energetic nature. He is always sticking his nose where it doesn't belong, simply to find more sticks or rocks or anything he can build something with. He also retains his father's protective and family oriented nature. He is how a bit of a show off, and often tries to impress the mares with his "dazzling creations." If they aren't interested, then he simply tires again, building something bigger, better, more flashier. He doesn't simply want one mare however, he desires to have a herd full of his own pretty mares one day to breed with and populate the earth with his spawn. He looks up to his father for inspiration a great deal of the time.
However, deep deep down there is a more wild side to Adwin. A darker wild side. A side that takes him into a whole other dimension and he seems to completely zone out. You can tell this is happening because his eyes will glaze over. This side rarely shows its face, but when it does, he can be quite the nasty, cold, cruel and harsh Kirin. He will say whatever comes to his mind and he will not regret it until he is back to his normal self. He becomes like a true wild animal, grunting, snorting, charging and gnashing his teeth. Luckily it takes a lot to upset the rather peaceful and beaming Adwin, but when that does happen, you best turn tail and run.
Despite a dark side that shows its face once every blue moon, Adwin is over all, a real sweet, curious, and creative Kirin who is simply high on life and wishing to live it to the fullest. Even if that means creating some strange stepping ramp out of rocks and mud to get there!

Takoda had already been asked several times "Would you like to try this?" The wording was a little bit different each time but the question meant the same thing. Patiently, he answered every time with some variation of "I don't like that."
"Well, how do you know you don't like it if you've never tried it?" his mother reasoned, looking on her offspring fondly, if a little exasperated.
Takoda sighed. Parental logic. But, it was obvious that his family wouldn't let up until he finally gave something a try and his stomach was beginning to rumble, demanding food. Heaving another sigh, Takoda said, "Alright, alright. I'll try it."
First, he took a mouthful of meat..and promptly spit it out. He really didn't like it. Grimacing, he moved on to the grasses and grains his father's side of the family preferred. Again, he spit it out. Now he was really starting to get annoyed with the whole process and he could tell his family wasn't particularly pleased either...
"Why don't you try a little bit of both at the same time," his mother finally suggested, smiling at the look she received from her son. He wasn't very thrilled about the prospect but he needed to eat. Resisting the urge to grimace again, Takoda did as he was bid. Partially closing his eyes, Takoda began to chew, prepared to spit it out again. But, to his surprise, the combination of both flavors was complimentary.
"Hey, I like this!" he said after he'd swallowed, then, grinning at his parents, he snapped up another mouthful.

Response:
Hinto takes a bit more after his mother in mannerisms and habits, but he feels he should follow his father's way. He wants his father to be proud of him so he follows the family ways and learns the way of the herd. As much as he hopes his father would someday deem him worthy of having a herd of his own, Hinto has a bit of wanderlust that yearns to go traveling and exploring. Late in the evenings, you can sometimes find him staring off into the distance, wondering what’s over the next hill, and the next hill and the hill after that.
In regards to Hinto's eating habits, he’ll try to only eat grasses when his father is around. But when he's out and about and a juicy rabbit crosses his path, he'll give chase.
