"Hello!!" she called up at the high branches of the trees she was staring up at. The female giggled a little, wondering if someone or something was going to reply. She'd been calling for a few minutes already, but still no one did. It's not as though she really expected a reply, but it'd be interesting if she did get one.

Petaldancer, as she was now to be called, was laying in a makeshift bed of leaves that she had gathered herself, on her back so she was looking toward the sky. The trees were a bit of an obstruction, but she could still make out the beautiful sky blue beyond the greenery and it calmed her. A part of her missed the open space of the roguelands, but she was glad to have found a permanent home now. It was always good to have a place to call home, after all.

With a sigh she decided that she would call for the last time, still half hoping she'd get a reply, before she would get up and head for the heart of the pack lands. While she wasn't exactly bored, being alone oftentimes got to be rather... well, lonely. She took a deep breath and called, for maybe the last time that day, "Hello up there!!"

Trotting along, Snowthicket found himself staring at the ground with every step. He was out and about, which was rare for him, given his anti-social attitude. Normally, he was just coiled up next to some rocks, or off staring at the darkening edge of the horizon. He didn't really like to watch the sun go down, but loved seeing the sky get darker as the evening went on. It was more a dislike of the sun than a love of darkness type thing. He wasn't a total outcast, after all.

Glancing up for a few moments, Snow had a fairly apathetic expression on his face. He had heard something, but he wasn't quite sure what it was. He normally just ignored the things the rest of the pack did, other than family, of course, but he didn't recognize this voice at all. He had grown fairly tired of the same old things, so the prospect of someone new peeked his interest. Really peeked his interest.

Flicking his ears up, he tried to locate the voice, but he didn't see anyone yet. After the second call, he finally decided to respond. "Hello?"

She got up with a start at the sound of another voice. Petaldancer squinted a bit as she stared up at the branches still, wondering if she'd see whatever it was that replied. Maybe a bird or some other tree-dwelling creature that she'd woken from a peaceful nap. If that were the case she had a feeling they'd be irate with her so, heaving a sigh, she turned to leave so as to avoid any encounters with irate critters of the sharp-toothed variety. The last thing she wanted was a scuffle with an animal one-third her size, knowing she'd probably lose since she didn't do so well with pain and things of that nature.

Upon turning she caught sight of another, perhaps a member of the pack, again squinting her eyes to get a better look as said dog was still a bit of a distance away. Even so, her tail had already gone to flailing about in an uncontrollable fashion, and she quickly made her way over, with a huge smile on her face.

"Hi!" she called as she ran. The femme came skidding to a stop just a couple of yards away. "Are you from here?" she asked, only then stopping to catch her breath.

"Oh, hey." Stopping where he was, he watched the pale figure come towards him. He had never seen her before, but she seemed....alright. And her question automatically led him to believe that she was from the outside world. He had always been curious as to what that area was like, as he had never been a very adventurous dog. Growing up, he had few friends, and often found himself nestled in an isolated bush staring up at the sky.

"I am." His eyes widened a little as he became more alive. It was so intriguing, seeing someone new and fresh, and it felt as though he was breathing new air just being around her. "You're not, though." He smiled a little, watching her.

"I'm Snowthicket." He bobbed his head in a small greeting, wondering what exactly her name was. It had been so long since he'd heard an outside name. His own felt so....alien to him.

So he was from around here! From the name alone she could tell he was a fellow pack member, so with that uber-excited smile still on her face she continued with their little conversation. She was practically shaking with all the excitement of meeting someone from her new home, so to calm herself a bit Petaldancer took a seat. Her tail kept on wagging though.

"I'm Petaldancer!" she said, and rather proudly at that. She did love her new name. "Actually I'm still kind of new around here, so I still have a lot of other pack members to meet." The femme took a moment to count in her head who exactly she'd already met. There hadn't been that many yet.. maybe two others? Not even. One? Wait, no. She met the leaders when she joined, of course, and some others. So she had met more than one!

The thoughts had depressed her somewhat, and her tail stopped moving for a second. Only a second. It was moving again in almost no time at all, and the smile that had gone for just a few seconds was back again. "I've only met a few of the others, so there's a long way to go before I meet you all!"

Watching her for a few moments, Snow couldn't help but laugh a little. Her expressions alone seemed to brighten up the conversation, making it seem far less awkward than it was initially destined to be. He had never really been that excited or happy about anything so far in his life; everything just seemed like it was painted in shades of gray.

"Petaldancer?" Crooking his head to the side slightly, his eyes began to trace the markings on her pelt. "It's quite fitting." Smiling at her, she was actually quite pretty. Though, the adolescent was far too embarrassed about that fact to let the words slip out.

Her next words almost saddened him for a moment. "It's alright if you don't meet everyone." Shuffling his paws on the ground, he felt like a selfish pup, wanting to keep his new toy to himself. It's not that he particularly disliked anyone in the pack; it was just that it seemed that this new female would lose her shine if she really met and got close to everyone else. "But I guess you would want to meet as many members as you can, to make good friends. Since it's no fun being lonely." The words seemed to have a little sting attached to them - Snowthicket knew loneliness pretty well. Though, in his case, it was more of a chosen lifestyle than one that was forced upon him, which made him understand that forced loneliness must be an awful thing.
