((Feel free to edit the title, my brain isn't here so much tonight xD))  Eos weaved her way through the last of the snow-covered trees, exhaling in relief when she could finally see grass and things besides the cold, stark landscape of Mama's tribe. She might have grown up in Kousetsu, but it was so cold there, there was no way she was staying. And Mama had agreed to meet her on the border every few months, so now it was time to go start her own life somewhere else.
Picking up her pace happily, the young adult made her way quickly away from the mountains and forest into land that was growing noticeable warmer. Feeling the warmth seep into long-cold joints, Eos smiled widely--nothing was going to go wrong out here.
...Except maybe finding food. She hadn't eaten all day, and she needed to catch at least a rabbit before finding somewhere to sleep for the night. Right. Hunting. Eos scanned the relatively flat landscape for any signs of a stray rabbit or even some kind of bird.
There was a rabbit! Proud of herself for spotting one so quickly, Eos hunched over and slowly inched towards her target, waiting for just the right moment to attack.

Rabbit... far too small and insignificant for him to even cast a glance at. It was not adequate for a meal, hell, it could barely be considered a snack. It was such an easy kill, too. No, Tatsuo was interested in larger prey. He sniffed the air, sifting through the various scents mixed in it, trying to focus on a single one. He caught the scent of something interesting, however. Another Modifox. His deep crimson eyes turned in the direction of the scent. He saw what appeared to be a vixen stalking... the rabbit... He blinked, stifling a laugh. Surely she could have picked something a bit better to hunt.
He would wait till she finished hunting to approach her, hoping he would not scare her off. After all, it had been quite a while since the male Modidaeva had encountered another outside of the tribe, rather, tribe-to-be, that he had been born into. He sat down, folding his leathery wings by his side, tail twitching patiently as he observed this female's hunt.

Finally, after what seemed like ten whole years, the rabbit was close enough for her to to pounce it. Eos grinned in victory, then leapt at her prey--only to miss it by several feet.
She shook off the urge to feel sorry about it. She just needed more hunting practice, that was all! A couple of weeks and she'd be the best hunter out there. Satisfied with the idea that this had just been "practice", Eos turned around to look for some berries or other fruit to tide her over for the the night.
What she found, however, was a bigger, black wigged thing.
Before she could contemplate running to try and save her hide, Eos remembered something Mama had told her about once: Modidaevas! She had seen 'Phims before, so this was a 'Daeva. Interesting.
Not afraid of much, Eos ventured closer to the stranger, although not enough to intrude on his personal space. "Hello there," she greeted him with a small smile--enough to be pleasant, not enough to be annoyingly cheerful. "Am I in your territory or something?" Because he'd been watching her for a long time now...

Tatsuo chuckled as he witnessed her miss the rabbit. His gaze followed it as it ran off into the distance, and when it disappeared from view, he redirected his attention back to the vixen, who had noticed him by now. He smirked as she spoke. "Had a little trouble with the hunt, eh?" he mocked,. He was a fairly adept hunter, being a hunter to be in that tribe to be, and it seemed this female needed a bit of assistance. He shook his head at her question. "No, you have trespassed or anything. As far as I can tell, this is rogue territory." She was close, a bit too close for comfort. Though he was glad to not have frightened her off, he was not all too sure why she so boldly approached him. It was odd. Normally, foxes that were not other Modidaeva, Elders, or Higher Beings typically were not so quick to advance. "Who are you, female?"

"Huh? Oh, yea..." Eos trailed off as she looked in the direction her missed dinner had run off. "But that's alright, I'll get better." She shrugged easily and looked back up at the larger fox. Not much, even a formidable looking and possibly murderous Modidaeva, fazed her much. What was the point? What ever happened, happened, and she was pretty powerless to stop it.
The Modidaeva was saying something about it being rogue territory and whatnot, but she gave him her full attention again when he asked who she was. "Female?" she snickered, finding the wording funny for some reason. "I could ask the same of you, male." Eos either had a death wish, or was just plain stupid; she didn't mind either way.
"Anyway, my name's Eos. 'S who I am."

He scanned her over, red eyes eventually meeting her green ones. He could tell she was not afraid of him, as most were. That was a pleasing thought, leastways to him. Even 'Daevas had to socialize sometimes, and interacting with only 'Daevas was rather tiresome after a while. Most had similar views, similar mindsets. It bored Tatsuo.
His eyes narrowed at her as she spoke, for her boldness astonished him. He was not accustomed to this ease among normal foxes in the presence of someone like him. "Tatsuo," he stated flatly, shifting his wings at his sides.
What else was there to say?

"Tatsuo," Eos repeated, mulling over the name. "TatsuoTatsuoTatsuo." She fell quiet for a minute before nodding. "That's a good name. Nice to meet you."
She could tell he wasn't much for talking, but eh; most people didn't talk back to her in case she started babbling. She was used to awkward silences these days--and filling them of course.
"So, Tatsuo. What brings you out here? Kind of seems..." Eos looked around and considered the landscape. "I dunno. Boring? 'Specially if you could fly wherever you wanted. Jealous of that, by the way."
Another rabbit--unless the one from before was too dense to survive in the food chain--went bounding by. Eos' green eyes snapped to the innocent little creature; on the one hand, it was cute...but on the other, she really, really needed to eat. It'd be rude to just abandon conversation though.
Eos kept a close eye on the little body.
