Yakujo made her way out of the shadows of the jungle behind her. The voices still whispered faintly in her head. Telling her things, evil things. She saw a dark beast in side of her head. Was that supposed to be her? It wasn't her. The female wanted to scream and make these images go away.

She couldn't stay here with her family. Not for long. Yakujo needed to get away from this place. The voices were to loud. The voices always whispering and telling her things she should do. Things Yakujo would never dream of doing on her own. This was just some twisted sick nightmare the female had to believe that was all that this was. She had to get away.

So she made her way through the thick of the grass trying her best to keep her self hidden as she did so. There was no reason for her to be hidden. No one was coming after her. The whispering insanity had driven her paranoid though and suspecting of other lions.

Just who were these voices that followed her in her head? Was this all her? It couldnt be. Shed never have such violent thoughts.

When did they start traveling together again? Three days ago? Four? Maybe more. No... probably more. Days just seemed endless when you had him for a companion, though really that might have just been her. Her opinion of him had changed rather drastically since their first encounter. The lion she thought had been some sort of stalker and someone easily obsessed turned out to be someone remarkably reliable and easy to talk to. So the days passed slowly for them as they went, and it was clear as day how she had grown rather dependent of him as of late.

"No, I don't think it'd be better if we headed toward the ocean," she repeated, wanting the discussion to end already.

Of course, his habit of talking everything out instead of making a decision and simply going with it was a little irritating, and partly the reason why the days felt so long. She'd done more talking since joining up with him than she had her entire life up to that point, which was saying a lot since she was a chatterbox around those that she knew (namely just her family, as she wasn't great at making friends when she was younger and somewhat unsure of herself).

They'd been walking and talking about the subject of going to the ocean for most of the day. Lin knew they were close enough that it would only take the rest of the day to reach the seemingly endless expanse of water, but she didn't particularly like the ocean (bad experience when she was an adolescent) and so did everything she could to stay away from it. And so it was in the middle of this little butting of heads that she caught sight of a figure who just appeared from the thicket of the jungle they were skirting around. The sight was curious and, upon closer inspection (as they were close enough to see her face) one could tell that she was a little distressed. Maybe a little more than just... a little.

"Hey!" she called, not genuinely concerned for the other but instead thinking about getting away from Tai for the moment, so he'd let the idea of going to the ocean go. "Are you okay?" she continued, picking up her pace to catch up with the lioness.

She was stubborn, he'd give her that. He loved the ocean! Or at least, loved looking at it. Why would she not want to go there? He'd asked but she never gave him a straight answer, so for their entire walk he discussed with her the possibility of their passing by the beach so he could at least get a glimpse of the wide open sea. Just a glimpse was all he was asking for, but she still refused to go. And really, he liked having her around so there was no way he'd go without her. He'd drag her there if he had to, but they'd go. They had to.

"Why not!?" he demanded for the hundredth time already. "It's nice to look at it. It's also colder there, and the sand feels good when you're walking on it too. Actually it really gets in your fur if you're not careful, but still.." and he trailed off as he watched her make her way over to the figure that just popped out from the jungle beside them.

He raised a brow, a little more wary than she (as he had nothing to avoid), and approached a little cautiously. He bowed his head to the strange lioness in greeting, smiling a little apologetically for Lin who just came over without any warning.

"Afternoon," he said after he caught up with Lin. He didn't really know how to follow that up, so he stood there smiling and glancing every now and then at Lin who, he already knew, had asked the stranger something and was just waiting for an answer.

The female was startled by the sudden appearance of the two lions. She'd been so focused on the voices in her head she'd not really bothered with paying attention to where she was actually going.

"Im.." She shook her head trying to get her head on clearly. "Im fine, " Obviously this was a lie by the look on her face. She was not fine. Anyone could see this from miles away. Yakujo had a very expressive face that worked against her.

Yakujo really eyed the two other lions with wide wild eyes.

Was it just her or was this lioness kind of looking at her funny? Looking at them, rather, as Tai had once again followed after her. She didn't mind so much now since they were companions, but it still felt a little weird when he went after her like that. It was more comfortable when she was the one who had to catch up. In any case, the reply that she got out of this adolescent was a little strange, as was the expression on her face that went against what she said, as well as the way, as previously stated, she was looking at them.

It was a little scary, to be honest, but Lin didn't let it bother her and simply smiled (a practiced one that she'd been working on since meeting Tai), a worried look in her own eyes. "Are you sure? You look a little troubled so I thought to ask.."

It hadn't started out as genuine worry, but was slowly becoming just that. "I'm Aelin, by the way. Who are you?" she asked, then added after glancing toward the jungle that the other had just left, "And... where did you come from?"

-----

She asked too many questions, though he was a little touched by her concern for someone she didn't know at all. He stood there, still smiling (it felt a bit awkward), but he was a little worried about this lioness as well. She had a look about her that spelled trouble, whether it meant for them or for her he wasn't sure, but it was there. He knew it but simply put the thought aside knowing Lin wasn't the type to just leave this sort of thing alone once she notices it.

"I'm Tai'li, by the way. Tai for short, or Li. Either is fine. Sorry for all the questions by the way.."

And again he wasn't sure what else to say after that, so he went quiet and waited for the lioness to reply to Lin's questions again. For someone who really didn't talk all that much when it was just him around, she sure knew how to get into someone else's business. Maybe because it was him...?

The female quickly gathered her self. Her face transformed into a blank expression now aware that these two lions were real. They weren't inside her mind. Oh god, she really needed to get far away from this jungle.

"Do-don't go toward that jungle!" She shook her head loosing her cool again.

"I - I mean. " She gathered her self a gain taking a breath. "I mean , that jungle. Theres something not right. Theres something not right theres something dark," She frowned seriously. It was obvious now where she came from. The jungle. The panic was gone from her face but in her wild eyes it was crystal clear she was spooked. The voices were now fading but they were still there whispering into her ear.

Yakujo was not a crazy lion by normal standards. Things didn't spook her. This jungle , how ever, haunted her eyes.

Oh right.. her name?

"Im.. sorry. I need to get away. My names Yakujo though it really doesn't matter. I advise you two to flee away from this place and head another direction. Theres no good there. Just whispers," She shook. Her own demon lurking in her mind and clawing at her being. This wasn't her. These violent thoughts did not belong to her. They were driving her insane.

Lin frowned as the lioness tried to calm herself down. Her words were frantic and clearly she was scared of the jungle. Or was it more accurate to say 'this' jungle, judging by her words? Something about it was supposed to be unique, dark even (so she said), so Lin gave it another sideward glance. The frown remained.

"Dark?" she repeated, raising a brow. "Maybe you just saw something?"

Maybe she was just a little troubled, both physically and mentally. This sort of things happens sometimes after a traumatizing experience, so maybe. She didn't ask, but the thought was reflected in her eyes and she looked over at Tai, who was still standing there smiling like an idiot and not saying much of anything.

Yeah, he can talk when he doesn't really need to but when it comes time she needs him to start jabbering on about this and that he shuts up. Fantastic.

"Well in any case, if you need to get away then you need to get away. We won't stop you," she said with that practiced smile. "Yakujo, right? If you want you can walk with us until you calm down a little more. It might help if you have some company."

-----

Her words were suspicious, so he looked over at the jungle and kept his eyes on it for a little while as she explained and introduced herself (he managed to catch her name though). When he satisfied himself with not having seen anything strange within the thicket he turned his attention back to this... Yakujo, and sighed.

"Well I don't see anything strange," he said, glancing at Lin who seemed to think the same thing (which was why she didn't comment much on it). "But we've never been inside so we'll just have to take your word for it." He smiled reassuringly and, upon Lin's suggestion for the younger lioness to stay with them for a bit, he nodded.

"Yeah, it might be better if you came with us for now. How about it?"

The female calmed her self some. She took a few breaths before nodding. Yeah going with these two seemed her best option right now. Maybe the two of them would help clear the frantic nightmares rambling about her head go away.

The voices weren't as loud as they had been in the jungle. Yakujo took a few more breaths.

"Yeah I think it would be nice to travel with you two just for a small while," She needed to get her head together. Her father and sister were still in there. Though it seemed they weren't as affected.

It had been months they stayed there. Every day the voices had gotten worse and worse. It could be a while before they disappeared completely.

"It's decided then," she said with a little smile and nudging Tai. "I'll apologize for this guy ahead of time. He likes to discuss every decision he's about to make, so he might get annoying some of the time." She smiled at Tai jokingly and jogged ahead to stand beside Yakujo, smiling rather cheerfully. They'd gained another companion, if only for a little while. It was nice to spend some time with another girl too, as too much time with Tai just felt a little weird. Especially since they were alone almost all the time.

"I haven't spent any time with girls recently, so it's nice that we'll be together for a little bit." Lin offered her a smile, trying to help her calm down a bit more, and turned so they would be moving away from the jungle instead of skirting alongside it.

"Let's go?" she said, then started off. The lioness wasn't sure what to say that would take Yakujo's mind off of the jungle, so for now she decided that staying quiet might be best. If the younger female decided to share something, then she was all for it, but she'd asked enough questions for now.

-----

Tai didn't say anything during these proceedings, with Yakujo deciding to join them for a time and Lin getting ahead of herself and suddenly changing their direction. Not that he minded. Seems she felt more comfortable around girls, which made sense so he brushed aside the thought of her not really liking him because he talked a little too much for his own good.

"Ah," he asked before taking a step toward them. "Why don't we head toward the ocean?" he asked, hoping their new companion would tip the scales on this discussion in his favor. No, throughout this whole encounter he hadn't forgotten about what they were talking about before they ran into her.

"You know it's really nice and calming there, with the breeze and the sounds of the crashing waves. It might help if we passed through. What do you think?" He smiled innocently, pointedly ignoring whatever looks Lin was giving him right at that moment.

Yakujo nodded and followed after the female. She didn't have much more to say. Yakujo just wanted far away from this place. She wanted the voices to stop.

Then mention of the ocean caught her ears. To the ocean? She didn't really care where they went as long as it was far away.

"Ocean sounds nice long as its far far away from here." She forced a smile but her eyes didn't smile. In due time they would again. The female just needed to have some time away. That was all. Then she could come back for her sister and father.

Please say no, please say no, please say no!

Of course, she said yes. Lin grimaced, not at all looking forward to having to face the one thing she hoped she would never have to face again - the ocean. That evil expanse of salty water and its equally evil creatures swimming about within its body.. she shivered. There was no way she could refuse, all things considered. She was the one who offered to let the adolescent come with them after all.

"F-fine," she finally stuttered out, smiling at Yakujo while glaring over at Tai whenever she got the chance. "As long as we don't get in the water I guess it's okay..."

-----

YES! Yes, yes, yes!

One could clearly tell how pleased Tai was with how the lioness answered, though honestly with how she said it it seemed kind of cruel to be as happy about it as he was. She was trying to get away from something while he was just using that to his advantage.. in some ways, not entirely though. Was he a bad guy? Hopefully she didn't think so.

"Great!" he said excitedly, still ignoring the glares he felt coming from Lin. "You'll love it there, I promise. It's actually nearby, but it's really big so you can get away from this jungle just by walking all along the beach."

He walked a little ahead of them, both because he was more excited (of course) about their destination than either of them and it meant being able to avoid Lin's looks with much more ease.

Ah, the sea, the sea. That was the only thing that he was really thinking about though.
