what can you say about the present situation of the gay community today are we really accepted.......****honestly 'm still confuse until now*****

Honest opinion: No, gays aren't that accepted. Not when 17 states in the US pass gay marriage bans--with two more possibly on the way-- when a dying police officer can't get benefits for her life partner/wife, when Rick Santorum and his repug cronies try to bamboozle the black and white churches with money to denounce gay relationships, when in this day and age, discrimination on that simple basis makes absolutely no logical sense and yet they STILL hate, despise and are repulsed by gay affection....no, they're not accepted. Maybe by young people, and they can vote in about 1 to 6 years....doesn't mean they will as evident by the 2004 elections....but by then the anti-gay forces may have a strangle hold on the legislature.
Coincidentally, when Ahhnald, the governator of California said that gay marriage had to go to the legislature and the legislature said OK on gay marriage, he backtracked and said it had to be decided by the courts...which it was. A Republican judge OK'd gay marriage, calling the ban unconstitutional in early 2004, but how quickly we forget history it seems.

no, gays are not accepted everywhere, and i doubt they ever will be. there will always be some homophobic p***k who screws everything up. what really sucks is being bisexual-even those who support gays find you strange. i am frequently told to "just make up my mind on whether you wanna be gay or straight." it's kind of like racism. it will never go away, becuase prejudiced people always raise their kids to be like them, and those poor kids grow up believing the load of bull that their parents have shoved down their throats when they were growing up. and most of the time, when someone's prejudiced against something, they are impossible to change.
