Rocket had been off in his own world. He often went there, losing touch with reality, swaying slightly as the breeze blew around him. He couldn't tell anyone what he was thinking, since he didn't remember it himself. He had spent the majority of his day like this, since his mother and sister were off bonding, and his father was having one of his rare, yet no less terrifying, mental breakdowns. Rocket side stepped out of his world for just a moment to think about the last time his father actually lost his mind. He remembered something very clearly, when he had his sister had just left their baskets. Their father kept ranting something about frailty and murder while he cried. Mother kept a calm voice, trying to keep his father from running off and them from getting too scared.
He tilted his head a little bit, as the bright spot of his father slumped to the ground again. No one who knew that serene stallion would guess how he would wail at moments like these. Almost nothing he said was coherent. As it stood, however, it looked like the bulk of the screaming was done with, and now all his father had to do was let the red subside from his eyes. Rocket nodded a sort of congratulations from a distance and returned to his little world, swaying as the breeze caught him.
