Duskback found himself meandering around the lands in spurts. See, there was a lizard, a rather unfortunate creature that was being stalked by the young dog, who was eager to earn his place in the pack as a hunter! A confident look was spread on his face as he would walk up close to it, then lunge, snarling as ferociously as he could, and always landing just short of it. After all, if he killed it now, he would have to find another creature to practice with. And for now, this quick, well-camoflagued creature would just have to do the trick.
He didn't mind not-catching it, though. After all, he hadn't even hurt it, and didn't really plan on it. When he got tired, he would pounce on it, try to grab it with his paws, and then let it go. That was a ways away, though.

Mudfoot had a bushel of dreamberries in his mouth, wanting to take them back to his den for later. They were wonderful little treats, and he was hoping he might be able to get some to grow closer to his den. Not that he knew a damn thing about plants and how to grow them.
So he had to try!
He spotted a pup nearby and tilted his head to the side. What was that little guy doing? He looked like he was hunting, but Mudfoot couldn't see anything big enough to warrant... oh. A lizard.
"What are you up to, kid?" he asked, padding up and putting the berries down.

The small wild dog pounced once more with a snarl, letting the lizard skitter a little farther before he heard a voice. He glanced up to see another packmember, whose name escaped the boy at the moment. "Shh!" he urged, picking his paw up and putting it back down to the ground, hoping that he would get to stay low.
"I'm pouncing this lizard," he whispered before turning his view back to where the lizard had last been spotted, thing was... Well, it had skittered away in the time that Duskback had taken his attention away from it. His ears went from perked completely forward to somewhat droopy for a moment in disappointment... He never should have taken his eyes off of it.
Ah well, there were plenty of lizards to be chased and pounced... He was sure he'd find another one before long. After all, a hunter has to find his prey before he can chase after it, right? That was all part of the challenge.
"I was pouncing a lizard," he said, once again turning to the adult, perked up again. "I think I've got sneaking down anyway, so I should work on finding others, you know? I'm gonna be a great hunter someday," he informed with a nod, certain of that.
"Hey, whatcha got there?" he asked with a headtilt, looking at the berries. He'd never seen berries like that before.
