Darkness is truly magnificent, and that's how Camphoreon was that evening despite the lights that typically kept the city aglow in the dead of night.

It was well after business hours, but that was all relative as the First Camphoreon Bank was still inhabited by employees and one very important client. One office had its lights on and the banker sat behind his desk.

"Very good Mr. Kaiba. I just need you to sign and its a done deal. The typical fees for the level of confidentiality that you require still applies."

The client that sat in the chair across from him, leered at the banker with a cold set of blue eyes over steepled fingers. He snorted indignantly. "Fine." And then reached for the papers. A flourished stroke of the pen across paper and it was signed. They were crooks, the lot of them, but then he wasn't one to talk either. It was a small price to pay for secrecy.

Seth handed the papers back to the awaiting banker before sitting back and crossing one long leg over the other. The shiny Luxray that sat at his side inclined his head be remained silent. Naturally Seth wasn't in his usual Team Rocket garb. While his outfit was still composed of mostly black, it was instead a pair of tight leather pants, boots and a turtle neck. His arms and legs oddly adorned with belts.

These sorts of transactions had to be done in the later hours to keep his identity under wraps. And the portly bankers were more than happy to oblige if it meant more money in their already fat accounts. They also wouldn't hesitate to rat on him if he didn't keep them happy.

Darkness is truly magnificent. Aila could not help but marvel at the inky splendor that surrounded her, penetrated only slightly by the various city lights. It was the only cloak she deemed worthy of her face as she crept closer to the uppermost windows of the large bank. How unsightly, she mused, to lower herself to the theft of such ugly bills. But it could not be helped; the buying market for gems was sparse, and there were various expenses vying for Aila's immediate attention.

The dim glow of a single light from within the bank startled Aila when it came to her attention. Who would be there at this hour? Perhaps janitorial staff? She peered inside, arching her neck to seize a better view of the interior. Surely it was as simple as a light being forgotten, or - Ah! There! A pair of men, engaged in some conversation. She cursed under her breath. If she waited for them to finish and leave, she risked discovery by employees commuting to their workplaces for the earliest shifts. With a frown, she donned a pair of leather gloves and protective glasses. She drew a glass cutter from her bag and carefully created a hole in the window, less than a foot in diameter. She reached for the pokeball at her hip and released its inhabitant, who shook herself briefly to prepare for the task that would be assigned to her. Aila drew a short breath to settle her own nerves. This was her best bet.

"Fleur, use Sleep Powder."

The Bulbasaur growled a quiet assent and released a cloud of the powerful yet natural sedative through the hole that swiftly encroached upon the bank's two occupants.

Raion suddenly stood up, his spikey fur bristling even more as he sensed something. "Raaaay..." he growled. This causing Seth's gaze to tilt toward's the Pokemon and then in the direction it was looking. That's when he caught sight of the person on the other side of the glass just as the hole was cut open and the sleep powder started drifting in.

The elite suddenly stood and used his arm to cover his mouth and nose. The banker however, simply blinked at his client's sudden movement then looked as well. But it was too late.

"What the?!" The overweight old man shouted as he too stood up and breathed in the spores. Moments later the banker crumpled to the floor in a heap.

Seth grunted in annoyance, but had no sympathy for the man that was now sleeping like a baby. His intention was instead on the person on the other side of the glass. "Who the hell are you?!" he said in a muffled bellow. The Luxray managing to avoid the affects of the sleep powder as he ran up to the glass and snarled angrily.

Fleur quickly moved to place herself between her trainer and the Luxray, a pair of vines crossed before her as if to form a barrier. Aila glared at the man who dared to address her so impudently. Did he not know who she was? ...Well, no, and that was why he was asking. Despite that...

"My name," she projected her voice just enough that it would reach the stranger without disturbing any potential occupants of the nearby buildings, "is of no importance to you." This would be the ideal opportunity to flee, she determined. To leave empty-handed, though, would be an admittance of defeat, and she refused to marr her flawless record so carelessly. "Nor is your name of any importance to me. I have no desire to involve you in my affairs. It would be best if you would remove your arm from your face and allow me to go about my work."

Seth narrowed his eyes, huffing indigantly at her cheesy lines and the same impudence that he had shown her... now being redirected at him. If she knew who he was, she might think twice before continuing. Or so he thought anyway.

"I think not." Seth shot back, although still muffled by his arm as the sleep powder continued to hang loosely in the air. "If you wish to go about your business, you will have to get past me first."

She was obviously here to rob the bank, and while he usually wouldn't care less... his money was in this bank also. Seth would be damned if he would let this woman steal from him.

The corners of Aila's lips curled in a slight grin. If she had known sooner that there was such fun to find in the business of bank robbery, she would have attempted it much sooner. She had a sneaking suspicion, however, that this sort of challenge was not quite within the ordinary.

"Fleur, you are to cover for me," she murmured as she secured a cloth around her nose and mouth. "Razor Leaf."

The Bulbasaur obliged, knife-like green leaves shattering the glass. Aila made her move almost simultaneously, springing forward with every intent to bring the man's arm away from his face. If she could accomplish that much, she could expose him to a second Sleep Powder, and from there her objective would be within her grasp.

Unfortunately for Aila, Seth was a well trained elite member of Team Rocket and knew some martial arts. His wrist was grabbed, and Seth held his breath as his arm was pulled away. However, a quick blow from the bottom of his palm was aimed at his attacker's jaw. At the same moment he pulled his body away and yanked his wrist free before covering his face again. All done in a rather swift motion. The girl was rather bold to be attacking someone that was pretty much twice her size.

Without taking his eyes off his assailant, Seth called to his Luxray. "Raion use Swagger!" The shiny Luxray bounded towards the Bulbasaur despite the broken glass, then began to strut with his head tilted upward.

Aila gritted her teeth to suppress a cry of pain as the man's - giant's?! - counter caught her jaw. She aimed a swift kick at her opponent's shin as she stumbled backwards, drawing the glass cutter back out from her pocket and hurling it in his direction as she commanded her Bulbasaur, "Vine Whip!"

Fleur's vines flailed wildly in the confusion inflicted by the Luxray's movements, but each missed blow stirred the shards of glass littering the platform of their battle.

"s**t!" Seth shouted as her foot connected with his shin and he hobbled for a moment but still managed to dodge the glass cutter that was hurled at him.

By now the sleep powder had settled and Seth drew his arm away from his face as he backed up towards the chair that he'd been sitting in before. The elite narrowed his eyes. "Hmph. Your time would be better used in joining Team Rocket." He muttered as he waited for her next move.

"Crunch!" he then shouted at his Pokemon companion who was taking the blows from the vinewhip but seemed relatively unfazed. Raion then lept for the grass type and aimed to viciously sink his teeth in its bulb.

Aila was quick to recover her footing, taking a few steps backwards to meet her opponent's gaze more levelly.

"Team Rocket? That pitiful organization that's been already suffered multiple defeats at the hands of this city's incompetent officers?" She couldn't help but scoff at the idea. "What could they possibly offer me?" She turned a her attention to her Bulbasaur when she heard the Luxray's command, and she scowled as the pokemon's fangs closed on the green bulb. Fleur cried out, quivering from the pain of the blow.

"Bear with it! Sleep Powder!" the girl called. The same bulb swelled and burst with the intoxicating dust, but the Bulbasaur's condition was grave after taking such a powerful attack.

Seth snorted, "More than you have now if you're reduced to robbing banks." The cry from the Bulbasaur drew a smirk as he knew that his Luxray was making short work of that pathetic grass type.

"Not to mention you're up against one of its members... and losing." He added.

Sleep Powder practically exploded in Raion's face, and the Luxray stumbled back, hacking. In a few moments it too fell over, snoozing. Seth hardly missed a beat though as he recalled it and snatched another pokeball from his belt. What appeared was a Typhlosion that was just barely taller than Seth.

"Get the hell out of here. You don't stand a chance." Pele would incinerate that Bulbasaur instantly... and possibly the building with it... if she unleashed one of her attacks.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 01, 2010 10:04 pm

"Such filthy words. That mouth of yours surely knows no shame."

The Typhlosion's appearance was problematic, to say the least - Fleur stood no chance even at full strength, let alone in her current battered and beaten state. To let the battle continue would be futile, even cruel. Taking all things into consideration, Aila raised her Bulbasaur's pokeball, the stream of crimson light enveloping Fleur and drawing her into the device.

"I will admit your victory," she said, appalled at the man's ignoble words but determined not to return them. "However, I shall not leave this place empty-handed. Money, gems, even information... Its form does not matter so long as it is more than I arrived with. You are welcome to continue to interfere if you do so desire. Should I depart with nothing gained, it will be as a corpse."

Seth just smirked at her observation of his shamelessness. She didn't know the half of it.

He didn't so much as give a glance as the Bulbasaur was recalled into its pokeball. Probably the smartest thing this girl had done since she appeared.

"You may regret those words. However, I do have information for you." This said as Seth picked up his briefcase that was sitting on the floor next to his chair. Pele flicked an ear and growled lowly, keeping a careful eye on the short thief as Seth continued. "You're an idiot."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 01, 2010 10:40 pm

Aila narrowed her eyes at the "information," but she felt no inclination to counter it. Her mother had taught her to ignore such comments. It was a shame his attitude was as callous as it was, she considered. Otherwise, the man would be a perfect model towards which to aspire: swift, strong, merciless, and tall. Just what would one eat to grow to such heights?!

"Aila Christelle de Valois," she said. "That is this 'idiot's' name. It is a rare honor to hear it," though she was well aware that he would not receive it as such. "Care to reply in kind?"

Her mother had taught her well. However, Seth had his reasons for his attitude. Not that he would expect anyone to understand or care. Those reasons would remain known only to himself anyway.

The elite lifted a brow as she surrendered her name. He hadn't expected that, and certainly saw little value in it, but it was noteworthy for future reference. "Seth." Was the only reply that he gave her.
