Ianna sat, staring at the desk. One of the wands had yet to find a home, and she had discovered it many many many days ago. This...annoyed the poor woman to no end. WHY was the pull on the guardian not strong enough to bring them into the shop?

Or were they ignoring it? That made Ianna fidget. WHO was strong enough to ignore her pull?

Silver eyes cast over to the wand and she sighed, reaching out and picking up her daughter and placing her on her lap. Such was life, she supposed. Perhaps the little girl in the wand had yet to choose the guardian? Who knew...But it worried her nonetheless.

The wands had been strangely quiet, and Ianna didn't like that much either. In fact, she didn't seem to be liking a lot of things lately - mostly the fact that Coailiann had been slowly learning to walk. Walking and the little girl wasn't exactly high on the list that Ianna was keeping of fun things to do.

She shuddered. A mobile Coailiann meant a lot of things, and most of those things were NOT a good thing - for her, or the shop in general. Not to mention the fact that Coailiann was learning to levitate better and better.

Leviatation, Walking, and Coailiann was enough to scare the gods...or so she imagined.

Coailiann looked up at her mother, who was muttering to herself, as if she were nuts. Her mother had seemed a little tense lately, and she couldn't for the life of her figure it out...and she hadn't seen Lahela either. She missed her little parrot friend...Innocent green eyes stared at the door, as if....waiting for the paradise parrot to come squawking in.

Nai walks down the market street, whistling softly to himself. He'd been down these streets a million times, but each time he walks down they seem different. New shops would open up, new people would show up, and life would continue on as they knew it. He shakes his head and continues to stroll down the way, passing by shops that he knew had no interest in. Then he looks up as he sees a shop he had never seemed to notice before. He frowns, then looks at the door.

"Now... Why have I never seen this shop before... I've been down here a hundred times this week..." He mutters to himself.

After being unable to tell what the place sells, Nai opens the door and goes in. He looks with distaste at the surroundings before going up to the desk and speaking, "Okay, I gotta ask. What exactly do you guys sell here?"

Ianna looked up from Coailiann as the door opened and she heard the voice of the man who entered. Making a face, she set the squirming Sidhe girl in the playpen to the side of her desk and strode over to the man, crossing her arms over her chest. A little voice in her head prodded at her, letting her know that he was finally here, the guardian of the little wand who had been collecting dust behind her desk for the past weeks. "Shut up, Matilda."

Truely, she looked as if she were insane, her silver hair flying every which way in an attempt to make her seem even crazier than she was, and the glasses on her nose weren't helping her image any. "We don't sell anything here, Mr. Nebel." she answered, a sly smile crawling almost creepily across her face.

"And you're late. I've been expecting you."

Nai just starts ticking off the reasons he really doesn't like this woman in his head. She looks completely insane, she talks to herself, she knew his name before he introduced himself, and she was expecting him... Either he's in a shop made for an assassin's guild, or Nai's just walked into the twilight zone. Probably the latter.

"That's... charming. Okay, so you're on the market street but you don't sell anything? What do you do here then? I suppose you have some way of paying the rent?"

Ianna raised a brow. Certainly this man was different than the other owners who had come into her shop, and he was probably more close minded. She gave a shrug of her shoulders and strolled to the desk, slipping behind it and picking her daughter up, holding her in her arms as she scooted the large leather-bound across the desk - the only thing in the room not completely covered in dust, at him.

"Touch the book, Nai." she said, tilting her head. "You'll get your answers. I promise."

She watched, wondering how the rude man would react to the bright and glowy light that would emit from the very very old and dusty book. And the dust that would fly everywhere.

It would seem as if there was an invisible wind taking up all the pages and flipping them at once. Of course, the moment it stopped it landed on a beautiful looking sketch of the oak wood wand - which was currently sitting beside it.

Under the picture rested the words:

"Barton. Wand ID 00010. A Soul has been trapped within the confines of the wand. Congratulations, you have become the next guardian to take on the task of raising it from infancy to greatness. We, Ianna and I, have the upmost faith in you to complete your task dutifully. Best of luck,

Matilda."

"Congratulations, Nai. You're a daddy."

Closed minded? Not particularly. Just with enough death threats on his head to have a healthy amount of skepticism when weird stuff goes on. He looks at Ianna and watches her as she moves the leather book towards him. Then he looks up at her and asks, incredulously, "You want me to touch that? I have no idea where it has been!"

He looks down at the book with the glowing and the brightness and all that great stuff. Yeah, there's no way to know where it's been. You know, it could be cursed. Touch it if you aren't the kook and you become just like her. Probably something like that. He looks up at her, then looks down at the page. Well, you only live infinate times. If you're Nai. He touches the book.

Of course, when the book stats getting flapped by wind, he jumps back and looks at the book, "What the hell did I just do?" Then he watches the pages flip, "... The hell?" After that, he notices the writing on the book and the wand next to it. He reads it quickly before looking up, "Guardian? Wand? Infancy? I always thought wands were broken off twigs with unicorn hair in them or something."

Then he realizes what Ianna just said and replies thus: "What the hell do you mean I'm a daddy?!"

Ianna gave an insane sort of giggle. "You sir, have been watching way too much Harry Potter." the woman leaned over the desk, her glasses falling slightly to the edge of her nose. "The wand is holding the soul of a little girl, The Matchstick Girl, to be more precise, who died a very horrible death. You are her second chance, without you, she will be sent into death."

She paused. "You don't want to kill a little girl do you?"

Oh, Ianna was good at playing that card, her fingers stroking at the smooth wood. "You see this little thing here in my arms?" silver eyes turned to look at the Sidhe baby who was currently chewing on her hair with a delighted look in her eyes. "She came from a wand too, and lit up my life. The soul could do the same for you. Therefore, you're a daddy. You get to raise the little girl from wand, to infancy, into adulthood."

Nai's first mental thought was "You've got to be kidding me.? His second mental thought to this was "Hm... A daddy..." He looks down at the wand on the table before looking at the baby in the woman's arms. Then he looks up at her.

"Okay, explain a few things to me. How does a wand become a baby? I don't see the eyes on the thing. Second, who is the matchstick girl? And thirdly, what the hell is a hairy potter and why would I be watching it?"

Clueless? Perhaps. But funny, no?

Ianna rolled her eyes. "There's a SOUL trapped inside the wand. Right now, it's just a wand. With a soul. No eyes, no heartbeat. Just a spirit." Coailiann cooed in agreement and stuck her fingers in her mouth, deciding they tasted a lot better than Ianna's hair.

But not as good as apples.

"Second, The match stick girl..." she sighed and retold the story of the little girl, as written by Hans Christian Anderson, and smiled a bit. "Third...Nevermind on that if you've never heard of it."

Nai just gives up on understanding the woman. He reaches out and picks up the wand, looking at it. Then he looks back up, "So... Let me get this straight. There is a soul trapped inside this wand, yes? And eventually it will become the pink bit of blubber that is currently eating itself? And it has something to do with matches?" Hmm.

He looks at the wand, then at the woman, then at the wand again. Then he looks up, "Okay. Supposing I go along with this. What exactly am I supposed to do with it?"

Ianna's eyes narrowed at the man, reaching below for Coailiann's wand. Something that the baby hadn't been too drawn to...well...ever, and smacked him quite forcefully over the head with it. "You don't insult my children." she muttered, kissing Coailiann's forehead.

The little baby, who seemed to understand what was going on, shot her own glare at the fox man and hissed before going back to sucking on her fingers. She was teething.

"You're supposed to guard the wand and make sure nothing happens to it. Eventually, when it feels as though you've accepted it completely, a wisp will emerge, it's the child's essence. Eventually, it will solidify slightly into the shape of a baby ghost...and then, an infant. Get it?"

Nai rubs his head. Now that was completely uncalled for. In his world, babies were fuzzy. They were cute and cuddly. They also yipped and barked. They did NOT chew on their own hands. Is it his fault that this is the case? Humph. He glares back at the baby before looking up at her, "No, not at all. I don't see how the wand will start doing it's own fog show then become a baby. But I'll take your word for it."

Ianna gave a small shrug of her shoulders and shifted the child in her arms, who rested her head quite cutely on her mother's shoulders, closing her emerald green eyes, before sliding a sheet of paper over to him, written upon it was gold letters saying "Press Me". As soon as Nai would touch it, he would be transported into a large room. As they entered the main lobby Via the portal connecting the shoppe and the headquarters, the first thing they would notice is the vast...largeness...of it. The high ceilings, edged with gold, the large chandeliers dripping with crystals, the smooth white tile-floors, colorful rugs, and beautiful paintings.

To the left was a large recreational area complete with a large flat-screen television, several rows of various games, movies, video game systems and books. There was a basket of toys in the corner, full of plushies, dolls, cards and various other objects which would appeal to most ages. Included in the area were several comfy looking couches and plush chairs just made for sitting, lounging or bouncing in. It seemed to be heaven on a fluffy carpet. It even had a foos-ball table and an air-hockey table....and for the slightly more food-minded GoTP, a mini fridge always full.

To the right was a large elaborate counter, which seemed to have a force-field of some sort around it, keeping anyone who was not Ianna or Matilda from going behind it. On the counter lay a roster with the names of all the Ghostly children and their guardians, and an appointment book.

From there, it branched off into halls with rows and rows of rooms. Some were storage, some were guest rooms, some were bathrooms, and one very large and ornate door to the end of the hall led to the gardens. "Welcome to Headquarters, Nai. You're welcome here at any time. " A vast difference from the dusty wand shop.

Nai looks around, wondering why the heck he actually pressed the button? He looks around at all the things that he's never seen. What is that gigantic flashing tapestry? And those weird little... What is all this stuff? The gilt he knows. The chandeliers are not foreign to him, nor is most of the rest of the decoration. But the electronics have ne'er been seen. He looks over at Ianna, looks at the building again, then looks at her, "Where the hell are we?"

Ianna gave a small smile. "Another realm within Gaia that my daughter Matilda created." she paused. "We're in the headquarters for Ghosts of the Past, Nai. It's where most of the other guardians come and hang out, and there's a very large and very vast gardens on the ground I think you'd enjoy."

Coailiann looked at him with those sweet green eyes and gurgled, sucking on her thumb as a comfort-thing. Her mouth hurt.
