She was totally at peace with herself. Everything was wonderful. She was Queen of her fireflies. She had a King of the fireflies. And, along with that, she'd made a few good friends and met up with an old relative of hers she had not seen in a long time.
Currently she was striding out across the grassy plains, tired but happy. Usually nocturnal, she'd decided to meet up with one of her friends and spend the day hunting or weaving reeds to make pretty jewellery - a newfound love of hers since making the crowns for her and Mimi for their crowning.
Apparently most of her friends didn't really appreciate the dark, so she'd adopted a new sleeping pattern for the time being. A sleeping pattern which comprised of sleeping when and where possible...so really...not a pattern at all. In any case, she was content, even if she was tired. Lucie wasn't really the one to get grumpy. Not really. She was generally a happy and upbeat cat, too gentle to really get angry about anything.
Even still...today was going to be a trying day, and she'd regret the lack of sleep later.

Jua'buyuka was walking along the shoreline of the ocean being careful not to tread too deep. His head had stopped reeling from his accident in the ocean but he had found that there was little left in it. He only knew of his name, the mysterious voice that constantly spoke with him and that he had a friend whom he was staying with by the name of Lamya.
He paused in his walk to turn and stand in the direction of the waves lapping against his paws. He stood there as if he was studying the waters, as if he was trying to find whatever it was he had lost. Deciding that he wasn't getting anything from just standing there he turned and started to walk once more.
He had no memory of anything, he only knew of what he had been told. Which frankly wasn't much.

Lucie's step faltered ever so slightly, having spotted Miminiwa out of the corner of her eyes. He was a pretty hard lion to miss, being so shining and bright. That was one of tha many things she adored about him. His pelt! Covered in shining gold as if he wore a cloak of fireflies. Her heart instantly warmed to see him and she turned sharply, moving towards him.
She'd not seen him for...well...for a long time!
"Mimi~!" She chirped as she approached. "Mimi! Where have you been? Have you been avoiding me?" She put on a small pout, slowing as she drew nearer. Even as she did, she sensed something was not quite right. But what that something was, she couldn't put her paw on.

He didn't even turn her way as she called his name. The voice in his head said that Mimi used to be his name but it wasn't anymore. Anyone who knew him would know that now. Right? So he assumed that whomever was calling was calling someone else. He couldn't be the only Mimi around right?
But she was coming straight for him, he could see her out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head towards her. "I'm sorry, who are you?" he asked flatly arching a brow and tilting his head just a bit.
"I think you have the wrong person. I'm not Mimi. My name is Jua'buyuka," he told her with a small nod.

She blinked, totally taken aback. What was he talking about? She blinked again, as if she expected him to dissapear and she to find she had been dreaming. But he was still there. Her Mimi. Looking at her without...without any recognition.
Her heart dropped from her chest.
"Jua'buyuka..." She tilted her head. "You changed your name?" She supposed it was bound to happen but...why hadn't he come to tell her?
The look in his eyes...that...lack of recognition. It was beginning to worry her. "That's a nice name." She continued despite her worries. "You should have come and told me, silly!"

He stared at her blankly unsure of why the white and blue lioness was looking at him the way she was. She looked panicked, worried, and mostly confused. He frowned slightly as he took a step away. "No, that is simply my name," he told her not quite understanding what she meant.
Lamya had called him Mimi too and the voice said he used to go by the name but surely those that were close to him would know of the name change. "I've been told Mimi was my name but it is no longer. It hasn't been for a while," he stated with a shrug of his shoulders.
"I don't think so," he told her pressing his lips together. "I have no idea who you are. Why would I tell a stranger that I changed my name?" He asked. "I would just tell you what my name is, Jua'buyuka."
It was plain and simple. Right?

Her mouth hung open. She couldn't help it. She listened to him stock-still knowing at once that something was dreadfully wrong. This wasn't her Mimi at all. He wasn't playful and bouncing and grinning. His eyes didn't sparkle, he hadn't moved to share any affection with her.
They were childhood friends!! This just couldn't be happening, could it? She didn't understand!
"What do you mean you don't remember me?!" She blurted, ears folded back, muzzle wrinkled in despair. "Of course you do! I'm Izo!" She hadn't spoken her old name for a long time, but she hoped he might have more chance of remembering that then Lucie. But inside, she could feel herself panicking and losing hope. What was wrong? A sickness perhaps? Was it...serious?

He pawed at the ground nervously looking away from the lioness. He was beginning to get uncomfortable about the whole situation. He didn't like her reactions to his words, he simply had no idea who she was and her insisting that they knew each other wasn't going to change that.
"I mean that I do not have an idea who you are," he told her flatly glancing up slightly. "I have never seen you before," he told her looking back down at the sand once more. His ears pressed against his skull.
"That name doesn't ring any bells," he said frowning again. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. "I'm sorry but I really don't know who you are," he sighed.

"No..." The word crawled out of her as if it pained her to say it, and she backed up a step, shaking her head. What was going on? Was this some cruel joke? No. He wouldn't joke about this and...and his eyes...he really did not know her. But she knew him. She knew him and this lion here before her was her childhood friend whether he knew it or not.
And...and...she'd just started to think that maybe they could have been something...something more.
She couldn't help it. The tears worked free and slid slowly down the curves of her face. "Are you sick? Do you need rest? How can you just not remember, me!" She bit back any other words, closing her eyes. "I don't understand what's wrong with you. Did you get hurt? Attacked?" She shook her head. How could he forget? She would never forget him!

He took another step back away from her. He really didn't like the direction this situation was going. He winced as she started bombarding him with questions. He closed his eyes when he saw that she was about to cry.
No. No. No! No one was supposed to cry! He didn't understand why she was so upset about the fact he didn't know her. He didn't remember anything about his past, or his present really. He knew of a few things and not much more than that.
So maybe he did know this female, but if he had before he didn't know now and he really, really didn't like the way she was acting towards him. Just who was she?
"No. No!" He almost shouted finding himself up to his elbows in water. "I'm fine! Nothing is wrong with me. What's wrong with you?" He yelled. "Leave me alone! I don't know who you are! Leave me alone. Leave me alone!"

If she'd been less distressed and shocked she probably would have forced herself to calm, to stay and try to talk to him, to find out what he did remember and what he thought might have happened. But to hear him yelling out to be left alone and feeling the desire to seperate herself from this situation, she did just that.
With a loud sob that wracked through her, she turned and bounded off, back to the pool, back to her fireflies. They would soothe her. They would help her make sense of what had happened here.
Tears flooded her vision and she moved unsteadily, but she did notlook back, struggling to breath from the sobbing and running.
What had happened to him?
How could he have forgotten?
