He had just bought Karzuir who he had all intentions to buy since he had come to Zanzibar. But what he hadn't intended to buy a second slave. But pitty took the best of him and the first slave had begged for it's sibling. He knew if he hadn't brought the pair home that it could have effected Karzuir's taxidermy work and that was critical for him. "Fine I'll buy your sister- she better be useful to me." He left Karzuir back with the Mr. Hyde so he could check her individually. He didn't need the first slave trying to pitty him into something he really didn't want even if he was more then 99% sure he was going to buy the second cat. It also didn't seam all to right to give Karzuir any power over him as he caved and spent more money then he wanted to.
"So." He walked over to the bars of the other cat. He didn't at all mention that he had already bought her sister. "What talents may you have?" He raised his eye brow and gave her a once over. At least she seamed to be in good health. There were no outstanding welt marks- so either she was a new slave or very well behaved. Again good for him because he didn't want to 'break' a bad slave.

Shemesgisa, though usually quite the happy feline, felt her usual cheerful demeanor starting to wane. She sat in the back of her cage, one claw drawing small shapes and pictures in the muck and grime that had accumulated over the years on the bottom of the cramped space. Her tail twitched behind her as she tried to brighten her own spirits. She was particularly worried about her sister. She hadn't seen Karzuir since the pair had been sold to the hyena, who she was none too fond of, though she did not raise her voice against him. In her mind, a well behaved slave was a well treated one.
At least that was what she learned on the farm she and her sister had been born on.
As the hound approached, her ears swiveled forward. She hadn't expected him to stop, not at all. When he spoke, she was on her paws quickly, blue eyes attentively resting on his chest in a subservient manner.
"Talents, sir? I c'n clean.. And, and I c'n cook a mean dish, sir. I been good at workin' on the garden, too, sir."

He watched her move forward eyes averting from his. This made him smile- well not at her but at some secret place he held inside of him. On the outside he had a scowl and a dirty look plastered over his maw. "Gardening eh..." He had some use for that. He couldn't take care of his shop to save his life. At the moment it was covered in blood from his shop and weeds were jutting out from every garden and lawn he owned. His mate would be displeased at the state of her flowers even if he had made a good attempt to keep him alive. Gardening was just not his strong suit.
"How are you with cleaning blood?" He needed honesty because if she couldn't clean stains off the wood and dirt she wouldn't be useful even if she could make the garden pretty. Blood was seriously one of those things that irked him. Not so much when he was working with it. But the sight of it ruining his shop ran him ragged. Being OCD he had to make sure she was the perfect slave for the job.

"Well, sir..." She weighed her answer before she spoke, although she knew that a swift and honest answer was her best ticket to escaping the hyena's grasp. If she screwed this up, even she was bright enough to know she could be left here for a good amount of time.
"I'm thinkin' I c'n do that for ya, iffin' I c'n get the right supplies, sir." She bobbed her head after a moment and tilted her head slightly, keeping her vision steadily and subserviently trained on his shoulders.
"I'll be needin' access t'lotsa cold water 'n salt, oughta be able t'get it out. Had t'clean up after a few old farm animals what been eaten. I'm thinkin' if yer workin' with the killin' of critters, I might be able t' spruce up the place, too. Make it smell more appealin'."

He was impatient for her answer wishing to get back to his shop and back to his work. He never was to fond of cities- especially poor cities being born from the upper class. But she seamed to appease him and he nodded his head. At least she didn't assume he was a murderer or whatnot with his last question. Anpu almost let out a laugh. But he was to transfixed with the idea of leaving Zanzibar. It smelled horrible and it was apparent Mr. Hyde never bathed.
"So aside from salt you think there would be anything else you'd be needing?" He was wondering if this little female would be as insistent about her sister as Kazuir was. He really didn't need another snarky slave. Not that he made it all too clear he was going to go and outright buy her. For all she knew he was still obsessing over cleaning his shop.

"Well, sir, access t' 'erbs an' the lot. Iffin' I c'n get the sprigs 'n seeds, I c'n grow my own."
She bobbed her head with certainty, knowing that she was up to that sort of task. Flowers and herbs had wonderful odors that could be used to combat the poor smells that often came with dank, musty homes, as well as a way to keep the smell of the dead away, so long as the deceased weren't left to linger for extreme periods of time.
"Iffin' y'got someone what can sew..." She drifted off for a moment, as if formulating her thoughts. Perhaps she was thinking of her sister, though she made no note of it aloud, or perhaps she was genuinely at a loss for words at the moment.
"Iffin' you got or know someone what's good at sewin' an' all, I c'n put 'em in rush mats an' put 'em about. The 'erbs, if ya get my meanin.'"

Anpu's cheek gave the slightest glimpse that a smile might form. But again he couldn't seam to force himself to do it. "You know what need sprigs and seeds. This place. It smells horrible." He couldn't contain his disgust for Zanzibar anymore. He really wanted to get out of that place. Take his two slaves and go. He also really wanted to tell Mr. Hyde to take a bath but he'd probably raise the price of both cats in anger. And he didn't need that. He was saving to upgrade his house so at least he wouldn't have to diescet the animals where the guests would be staying. Oh his own office would be lovely!
But he had to go back to the task at hand. "Sewing yes. I could use somebody that sewed. You wouldn't happen to know anyone with those kind of talents?" He craned his head forward attempting to catch the slaves eyes once, but her head was bent so far down that he wouldn't have met them even if he was laying on the ground looking up. So he began to look down at her once more the same hint of devilishness playing in his pupils.

"Yessir. Rose is quite popular 'n all. Quite pretty t'the eye, too. Lavender, resin, sandalwood, all this I c'n make into perfumes iffin' I give it a whirl, I think. Animal fat wou'd be good, too." She nodded her head again, hoping that he was truly interested in her. Asking for someone who sewed, though, for a moment that worried her. What if he went for someone who could do that, instead?
Well...
At least it would give her sister a better shot at getting out, yeah?
"I'm thinkin' I do, sir. My sister, Karuzir. She's always been a bit better at usin' a needle, if ya get me. I always been better at doin' the cleanin' an' the weedin' part."

"I know of your sister. I'm just glad your not as pushy as she is." He grunted most unpleased a slave would open there mouths without an owner speaking to them. Although if she didn't Anpu wouldn't have found, found... "What is your name? I don't believe slaves should just go by SLAVE. Don't you think?" He raised an eyebrow at her once again trying to get to know the slave better. It was something his mate had got him into the habit of doing. Before he had met her slaves were just pieces of meat to abuse and throw away. But he gave up his whip and cat'o'nines on her digression as much as it pained him. He'd have to be 'tolerant' to there lot.
"Well in that case you can save my wifes flower garden if you know so much about flowers. I've let it get overgrown some. And if you can make some of those lovely perfumes for her..." He wandered off in thought. He miss Chione a lot. She had been gone awhile looking for rare flowers. "For her when she gets back..."

"You know Karuzir?" She almost smacked herself for questioning him, she knew better than to do that, especially as she was not nearly as chummy with him as she had been with her former master. She didn't want to offend him or make him think less of her for blurting out.
"Sorry, sir, I ain't seen her since... Not since our ol' master sold us off t'master 'Yde t'be sold. She's quite good with th' needle, t'be 'onest with ya." She quietly winced, chastising herself silently as she apologized.
"My name's Shemesgisa, but you c'n call me whatever ya wish, sir, bein' as we're meant t' serve. 'N I bet I c'n get the place nice 'n spiffy 'afore 'er return. At least a lot less weed-y, iffin' things ain't growin' good yet 'afore she gets back. Since yer in th' animal business, I'm guessin,' I c'n get animal fat easy."

He knew that would get her attention. "I MIGHT know your sister." He was enjoying playing around with the slave in the cage far to much. "If she's pushy and mouthy- I defiantly know her- maybe more then I want to." He finally let that chuckle slip out of his lips. Though it might have been at the inappropriate timing but again playing around with slaves might have been one of his favorite past times. And his mate wasn't there to oversee him so he could get away with it somewhat.
"I shall call you Smeme then as I can never remember long names." He then stalled. "And I shall buy you as you have answered all my concerns about smells and flowers. Just don't screw up or I'll have you ending back in this stink hole again." Even though he had no intentions of selling her back to Mr. Stinky. He wasn't going to tell her that- it was a good threat to have over any slaves head.

"That sounds like 'er, sir."
She nodded, though he didn't sound all too thrilled. Her heart sank a bit, but she tried not to let it show on her features. Tried being the key word, as the hint of an apologetic and almost forlorn look tugged lightly at her perky appearance.
Though she did seem to cheer a little as he said he would purchase her.
"Like I said, sir, y'can call me what'er ya wish. Smeme, that's just fine. I ain't gonna disappoint, I'm gonna do my best t'grow them prettiest flowers in alla the town."

"Glad that works for you." Though he was only being polite for Chione she liked those little beasts. "And don't worry your pretty little head off. I bought your sister too." He nodded his nose over to 'Stinky' as he was holding her chain outside the cage waiting for him to return with his decision about Smeme. "Your sisters sewing talents are most important to me. If I didn't buy you her mood would effect her work and I couldn't have that happen. But-" He gave her a dark look, "Your not to tell her SHE caused me to buy you, even in private."

Her features visibly altered as he spoke and a broad grin plastered itself across her white striped maw. He was buying her sister! Both would get out of this stinking hell hole! The news was almost too good to be true and she found herself wanting to kiss his paws and praise the gods as loudly as she could. Despite these urges, she managed to bite them back and, instead, thanked him profusely.
"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, sir! I swears it, you ain't gonna regret yer decision! An' I won't breathe a word of 'et, not at all! I'll work my tail off for ya an' yer mate." She bobbed her head enthusiastically and cast her blue eyes towards the stinking hyena, obviously enthralled by the idea of being on the opposite side of the bars and gone from the horrible place.
"Ain't gonna breathe a word 't 'er or nobody."

"Thank you." He found himself coughing on the words as he said them to the little slave kitty in the cage in front of him. Being polite to cats still wasn't the easiest and a talent he was learning. "I have this good feeling about you and your sister." He looked over to Mr. Hyde and with a sigh took in a deep breath of fresh air; he could buy his slaves and finally get the hell back to Capsia. Hopefully to never set foot in disgusting Zanzibar for a very very long time. And now that he had a pair of slaves he hoped that would extend to 'never'.
