Kame was returning from the guard that day during high noon. He was tired, sweating and the bottoms of his paws ached slightly from the amount of walking he had done that evening on patrol. He was happy to be finally going home and reuniting with his family, another thing that would make him ridiculously tired, but it was a sense of tiredness he welcomed, considering his love for them.

He was pleased to see that someone was already there waiting for him outside the den. One of his sons, Amjad, had sat there since he finished nursing on his mother and had not left the spot, despite his siblings coaxing comprised of pushing, whining and shoving play. Kame smiled to his son as he grew closer, noting how the little cub's tail swayed with pent up excitement.

Amjad turned his head back to the den towards his siblings and made a face at those who were still napping lazily after their meals. He snorted and with the loudest yell he could muster, screamed towards them "DADDY'S HOME."

Tasleem jumped about a foot off the ground of the den when her brother yelled. Her tail flicked as she landed and narrowed her odd eyes at him. The slate colored female was always jumpy of loud noises, and her brighter siblings. But she caught herself glaring, and stopped. Momma had told her not to glare at her brothers, because no one wanted a glaring girl for a Banu. Licking the milk off her lips, she slipped close to the den opening, peering out and spotting their father.

Her smile, little as it was, brightened a bit more and she sat on her haunches right next to her brother, looking expectant for some kind of affection. She needed to talk to him! About why she was so different than her siblings. She didn't want to ask momma, 'cause momma was usually sleepy because she had to take care of so many cubs!

"W-welcome... home, papa.." She stuttered, always unsure about talking to anyone other than her mother.

Amjad smiled and snickered at his sister's jumping. He was not a cruel pesar by any means, just a big brother who thinks its funny that sudden and loud noises startle his little sister so. As Tasleem joined him in waiting for their father to walk up to the den's entrance, he gave her a quick nuzzle of affection, so she knew he didn't mean to scare her.

It didn't take Kame long to finally reach the entrance of the den and smile as his youngest daughter joined his youngest son at the entrance, happy to see that he was home. A smile broke out across his face at Tasleem's words and he bent his head down to give her a small nuzzle and a lick on her forehead in greeting, "Sweet daughter, it's good to see you. You as well Amjad."

He gave a nuzzle and lick to his electric blue marked son, before peeking into the den where the rest of his brood was resting for the afternoon. Smiling down to his children, he sat, figuring he could spend time with these two at the least, before taking a quick nap with the rest, "Is mommy napping?"

At the nuzzle and lick, Tasleem purred loudly and proudly at that. Her tail flicked and she watched him and her brother before nodding. "Mommy's with everyone.. She was worn out after we played with her today," she stated softly. Never once had Tasleem raised her voice at anyone for anything. If the pale lioness had to get her siblings' attention, she would simply wait for them to calm down then speak. Or ask Amjad to do it for her.

"Did you... have a good hunt?" She asked, looking in the den and then moved to nuzzle against his front legs. Those odd eyes looked to Amjad and she motioned him to follow her in suit.

Amjad wasted no time in following after his sister's signaling and rubbed himself against his father's legs with a small purr and a smile. His father smelled so differently from the den and it made Amjad so curious. He wanted to see the lands past the little den enclosure, but knew that with so many of his brothers and sisters being small that it would be impossible for his father to take him, or his mother, or Mama Tai.

"Yes, Daddy. Did you have a good hunt?" Amjad asked, semi-expectantly, looking around. He saw no meat, so what could his father have been doing for that amount of time if not to hunt like Mama Tai?

Kame smiled to his children, the affectionate little brood, just like their mother was. He found it amusing that they thought he had been gone for so long on hunt, but considering they were only so old and he had not spoke to them about what he did in between their play sessions together, it was to be expected.

"Actually, my children, your father was not out hunting. He was scouring the borders of our pride, making sure that you, your siblings, and your mother's are safe," He said with a small smile. Only his children would ever truly be used to his odd smile. With the markings of his face, his smiles looked more like menacing glares, though his eyes never held malice within them.

So he was protecting them from the bad lions outside! That was so amazing, in this little Banu's opinion. Her daddy was the best lion as far as she was concerned. And her mommies were the best two lioness'. Her bright blue eyes wrinkled up as a smile appeared on her face. She had her daddy's smile. For that matter, most of them did. Most of them had his odd face marking which made it almost impossible for them to look happy without looking angry.

"Daddy is so amazing.. ......I... I was... wondering.." When she wondered something big, Tasleem got shy and stuttered a lot. Especially when she figured the answer would be completely negative. "..Could.. could you take us... to see t-the pride...?"

Kame was surprised by Tasleem's inquiry. He figured the little ones hadn't seen as much of the pride as he or their mothers had before their birth, and that he'd eventually be rather interested in exploring it. He wasn't expected them to want to explore so soon.

Kame smiled one of his few endearing smiles, and slowly nodded his head to Tasleem, "I would be very happy to take you and your brother to see the pride, Tasleem. I am surprised though. I figured it'd be your brother you would work up the courage to ask me to take you."

Amjad peaked up at his father, a small embarrassed look upon the young Pesar's face. In retrospect, it should have been him to ask his father to see the pride as he was a male in the family. He had a duty to learn the pride inside and out for when he was to become a Pad and start his own family unit, but he would not say anything. His father's comment was a compliment to his sister on her bravery for asking, and he would not take away her moment by protesting with his father.

"Where would you like to see first, children?" Kame asked, looking from Tasleem to Amjad to see if either had any idea before making suggestions of his own.

Tasleem flushed at that and looked down to her toes. Maybe she shouldn't have asked. From the way daddy sounded, her brother should have thought of it, which meant she probably just got him in trouble. Which men that this was the start of a very bad day. Her ears lowered little before she swallowed and looked back up. Her odd eyes focused on her father's before looking away shyly and nodding.

"I...I'm sorry. I just.." She just wanted to see the rest of the pride and the other cubs. She also wanted time to her father. If that meant her brother had to tag along, that as perfectly fine. Out of her siblings she felt closest to Amjad.
