__________Mystral hid in a clothing store, sitting at the bottom of a changing stall. Fear filled her crimson eyes. As she sat in the changing stall, she hugged her
__________legs against her chest. She trembled with fear as she sat there on the ground. The Drifblim was locked inside a mall. A mall with the living dead.
__________Zombies. Slowly lurking the grounds of the mall. The virus was spreading like wildfire, innocent people turning into brainless, rotting, slow corpses
__________that walked and moaned.

__________Mystral trembled, fearing to step out of the little changing stall. She hoped this was a nightmare. A horrible nightmare. And soon, she would wake up.
__________She just needed a little pinch. Mystral sat up and breathed deeply. Her eyes closed as she brought her fingers to her arm and she pinched herself.
__________Pain struck her arm and she jumped a little from the pain. Ouch, she said mentally. Her eyes opened, but she was still there. In the changing room.
__________In the mall. Full of zombies. She could tell because the lights were down low and silence surrounded her. Repeatedly, she pinched her arm. Why
__________wasn't she waking up?!

__________Panicking, she trembled more...erratically. She was like a cell phone on vibrate. Mystral hid her face in her knees. Silently, she prayed for hope,
__________guidance, and protection.

She lifted herself from below the metal, but the creature was continued to charge and even worse, the gate had stopped lowering.

"F---!" Ayumi yanked at the heavy iron gates with all her might and down it slid directly upon the hellish creature's deformed hand. A squeal escaped her lips as she stumbled into the mall entrance and slammed the glass doors shut. A silence ensued as her feet echoed across the abandoned building. "Hello?" She called bravely. "Anyone here?" A sudden rustle caught Ayumi's attention It came from a clothing store. "Hey, are you dead or alive!?" The Kangaskhan bellowed boldly toward the sound.

Frantic? You could say that, but it was more paranoia eating away at her. As each sound caught her ears she jumped, cringing when nothing was to be seen, but only picked up pace everytime until she broke into a run passing a restroom only knowing that would corner her. Well aware of what was out there, a few stray zombies had gotten in, maybe more but didn't bother to sit around counting them out. No, fear was the second thing eating her up. Finally when no sound at all was heard but her own footsteps, the Krabby slowed & hid against a wall within a clothing store, only to jump back on her feet at the sound of metal, groaning & the sound of a live person's voice. Actual language instead of that groaning & curtling noises. Trembling she shuffled a bit obviously seeming to scare the woman, but was it her rustling or... The red heads eyes darted back into the clothing isles hearing running coming her way making her trembling fiercer as her eyes widened greatly. As the zombie neared her own voice couldn't be found until it was just before her breathing down her neck, her own hands trying to fend off the stronger body, a high pitch squeal was released mixed with the zombie's own hungry groans. It was time slike this the Krabby wished she were stronger, braver... Better than who she was. Again over & over the scream pierced the seemingly empty mall while the zombie's bloody saliva dripped onto her body.

Most people in this sort of situation would be freaking out, or crying. It started suddenly, the mass 'infection' that manifested itself and took hold of most of the city so quickly. It almost didn't seem real, like tomorrow everything would go back to the way it was just this morning, but no, things wouldn't turn out that way. Things wouldn't end nicely. Either he would escape this place and somehow live, or this large, abandoned mall would become his grave, his tomb. It wasn't a pleasant thought, but it was reality, something he was all too familiar with.

Silas slowly scooted over to the edge of the main counter in the music store, leaning his head out just enough so that one of his eyes could get a view of some of the isles in front of it. The Vaporeon was sitting on the floor behind the counter, his knees close to his chest and his back to the space just below the price code scanning area. Silas had taken refuge in the now abandoned mall. He was on his way back to his house from a practice session with the local band he was in, and the mall was as close to cover as he was at the time. His guitar was still sitting next to him, one of the straps hanging loosely off an arm while it rested against the counter. He'd have to carry it like a backpack, it was the only way to keep it as unscathed as possible given the circumstances, and he refused to use it as a weapon unless he desperately needed to. That deep blue guitar in the black case had been with him since middle school, it was almost like an extension of himself, and one of his most valuable possessions.

After double checking the isles he could see, he quietly turned himself around to face the back of the counter, very slowly standing just high enough to look over it. The coast looked clear, looked clear. You could never really tell if it was actually clear or not, but he couldn't just sit behind the back of the main counter for the rest of his life. He knelt back down, grasping the three foot long lead pipe he had found in the back of the store, and very quietly stood back up and started tiptoeing down one of the music isles. His eyes glanced around frequently, his hands trembling a bit. Even he was susceptible to fear, even after the years he had spent in the street gang he once belonged to. Being eaten and gnawed on until his death wasn't exactly his ideal way of dying. For the most part he managed to keep his cool and remain calm, but that fear was still enough to shake him a bit. Occasionally his eyes would pause for just a moment on a CD case as he passed them, and he couldn't help pitying himself a little. At the very least, he could be surrounded by music he liked and enjoyed, was that so much to ask for?

and maybe....you're gonna be the one that saves me...

Salem couldn't help himself. Yes, this wasn't too strange for the normally ill tempered sableye. This was his city. And these....things....were destroying it. He couldn't stop it, it angered him. There he stood, on the first floor of the mall trying to secure the entrance and make the mall at least a little bit of a safe haven. He had heard other people inside, at least, he hoped they were still alive.

In his arms was a loud, over powering shot gun. And every time he shot it, it knocked his petite frame back a few good steps. He'd found it, and a pistol, in the gun store. Now it was time to go again, as one of the creeping undead came towards him. The gun was loaded, ready, he need only pull the trigger. He looked at it for a moment, imagining that it was once a living person like himself. Somewhere deep inside him he was mourning for that person, though he had never known him. Then, BANG, he pulled the trigger and watched it's head explode right off of it's shoulder.

"Headshot, the only way to be sure," Salem said under his breath.

Gunshots? His head snapped to the direction it was coming from. It didn't sound like it was on the second floor that he was on, but being in a mall with acoustics, it was hard to tell exactly where the sound was originating. He got a little excited, glad to know at least someone else had survived inside the building. Silas wouldn't jump to being bosom buddies with whoever it was, but at least if there was more than one person their chances of surviving would be a bit better. He nearly dropped his guard and just ran towards the sound, his body was fighting against his mind. Physically, he just wanted to run, but mentally he was trying to remain calm. The moment he lost his cool, the more vulnerable he would be, more than he was already.

The Vaporeon finally made it out of the music store and was about to go straight over to the railing, until a movement caught his attention in the corner of his eye.
". . .ah, s**t-" was about all he could get out before the animated corpse started clawing in his direction. It may have been an average person at one point, but now it was just...disgusting. Silas couldn't keep the emotion from showing on his face as he raised the lead pipe over head, dashing towards the now scarred and stinking mass of what was once a normal being, like himself. A yell escaped his mouth as he brought the pipe down on the creature's head as hard as his arms would allow him to, that sickening crunch of bone reminding him of memories he kept to himself.
________

Silas fell to the floor on a knee, setting his forehead against his forearm, the blood stained pipe at his side. It wasn't so much that he regretted what he did, he'd just never beat someone that badly before, it didn't matter if they were normal or not. Did this count as murder? It was survival, yes, but wasn't it also partly murder? He wasn't sure anymore. His eyes wandered back up to glance at the body that now lay still, a portion of it's head smashed beyond recognition. It didn't take him long, but a new sort of determination came over him, and he realized that now wasn't the time to think about 'right' or 'wrong' when it came to killing these..'things'. If he wanted to live, he'd have to do it, and he did want to live.

Silas rose to his feet, still gripping the pipe in his hand, and walked to the edge of the railing, leaning over a little and finally spotting the the cause of the gunfire.
"Hey! You alive down there!?" he yelled out, hoping that these 'beings' weren't capable of handling a weapon such as that. If they could, he'd definitely be in more trouble than he already was.

Of course, she never thought of what she would do if it were a zombie, so relief instantly hit her when she saw a girl much like herself. Ayumi observed the curious girl's outfit as she scribbled in a notepad. She was wearing a strapless bubble dress with knee high boots and thigh high socks, plus striped arm warmers, then looked down at her now ratty attire. Her loose sweater was torn in the back and her skirt was barely on her hips anymore. The two weren't exactly dressed for a zombie invasion.

"Nice to see someone alive." Ayumi laughed coolly. The Kangaskhan yanked on her drooping clothes and addressed the girl again, Honestly, I must look like a mess, but here goes an intro; I'm Ayumi and, uh, d'y'know if anyone else is in here...that's alive?"

Suddenly a girl cried from near the entrance. She saw a Krabby facing a zombie. "Holy s---! Where are these guys coming from?" In the back of her head, Ayumi wondered how many more there were, but kept it to herself. In an instant, the room was set in slow motion as Ayumi scoured them place for an instrument. She grabbed a mass of clothes on a nearby hanger and thrust them onto the zombie making it stumble back away from the girl, then she dashed to the far side of the room and yanked out a metal hook. She threw them aside and jumped over the pile of flesh and clothes and bashed the creature's head in. The girl was mortified as the bits of flesh flew about her, but it was better than being eaten alive. Soon, the creature desisted. Ayumi was cautious before saying it was over, scanning the pieces scattered across the floor and she sighed. The metal hook clanged to the floor and she walked over to the Krabby to see if she was alright.

"Scraaaaaatch- tap.", "Scraaaaaatch- tap.", "Scraaaaaatch- tap." The sound echoed through the back of the otherside of the mall, as Cael dragged his bloody crow bar across the floor and tapped it once in a repeating motion. Despite counting the steady beats in his head- He was on heavy guard. A hand gun visibly place in his simple belt. Dersert Eagle, .357 magnum revolver with only 5 rounds left. He had a bad cut on his upper arm- he got it while fighting before- from a large piece of glass. He tide it up with a cloth, but the blood had already seeped past the fabric.

Cael flinched some when he heard gun shots echoe down from the otherside. He took a deep breath. If he was going to go down. He would go down fighting. He held his crowbar in a white knuckled grip. "Scraaaaaatch- tap.", "Scraaaaaatch- tap." The action repeated as he started to walk toward the sound of the gun he heard.

Mystral bolted out after removing the rod, so Ayumi was left to carry the unconscious girl. She heaved the body onto her back before hearing a familiar groan. Cautiously, she hopped outside to see Mystral facing a heinous creature.

"Hands off, buddy!" Ayumi leaned the girl against the railing and seized the creature's slimy back and thrust it against the wall of the clothing store. The slimy face was skidded against the wall as she dragged it along its rocky surface. She flung the corpse across the floor and began to wheeze. It was obvious that the girl had little stamina, but a lot of spirit. "...Ha...creepy thing..." Ayumi grimaced and dashed one last time to toss it over the balcony and a loud SQUISH indicated the destruction of the being.

((Long post is long >,< sorry...))
--- Dendera wasn't exactly the kind of guy to take any situation in a state of panic. He certainly wasn't going to be sent into a pissing fit for anything or anyone, and he'd be damned if he was going to become some corpses snack. Dendera's day had become with a news announcement that had seemed like a joke but a peaceful drive had proven that to wrong. Yes, he was shocked that a 'zombie apocalypse' was even truly possible but there had to be a logical explanation and until he could hear it he would be enacting his right to self defense.

The slender Egyptian was by no means new to killing, and a gory scene was nothing new to him either. He'd served a full term in the army and new his way around a 'battlefield'. Not to mention the fact that he'd been shooting off guns since the age of 6 and started making them for himself soon after, specializing in any sort of weapon creation. A knowledgeable eccentric, he was definitely a nerd though he had to be a whole new breed.

These may have been a different kind of enemy than he'd seen on the field in his 'previous job' but that didn't change a thing in his mind. The objectives: find survivors, hold off the horde until reinforcements arrive, survive. Dendera worked best under pressure and this had to be the most pressure he'd ever felt. He had been in the sporting goods store when the horde had made their way into the mall, but at least they weren't the bulk of the growing mob outside. He glared past the bars that kept them at bay away from him, he'd already shot the workers, double tap headshots. He was a horror buff, ofcourse he'd seen every zombie movie in the book.

Luckily he always carried his two hand-made hand guns with him, they were top of the line and the best he'd ever made. He was ready to search for survivors, he would have to locate all possible and secure a location for them though he hadn't decided where yet, first he'd have to determine where was safest and most well stocked for a while. First things first, he began to unload his ammo on the group nearest to the gate, as soon as it cleared for a moment he caught hold of a golf club in one hand, sliding one hand gun into its holster. He unlocked the bars and moved them enough to run out.

He rushed at a nearby horde, swinging the golf club at every skull he could spot and once they were out of arms reach, bang bang bang, head shot head shot head shot. "If you're alive speak up now or I swear I'll shoot you right in your ********' head!" he shouted out as loud as he could manage before his golf club impacted another zombies skull. He damn well meant it to, whatever didn't talk was getting hit because he would assume it was dead, that is if he ran across them. "If you can make your way towards me do it. But don't--" BANG another one, point blank right in the face, the blood splattered against his chest, "..don't get in my way."
