I just got the Megaman Zero Collection for my DS. I was so happy. As i played i got to Harpuia (The Second hardest General I for me) and the my top screen freezes and the game continued. i thought it was a one time thim but the top screen did it over and over. I test the ds on another game and it froze the top screen. My Ds screen isnt full dead but the only games i can play now are turn based and that only because if the screen freezes i can wait. I have to go out to get a new ds. I've looked and now where near me sells original ds...they're to popular where I live. I had to get a....lite crying . I hope i find a red one but by the way everyone who had a ds lite now has a dsi.

What's wrong with a Lite? I use one. I like it a lot better than the original, especially the quality of the screen.

I'm sorry to hear about your DS. That's gotta be really disappointing. Though nowadays you can usually find an inexpensive DS/Lite if you know where to look. I hope you find happiness with the Lite.
I'd say out of the three DS models that have come out so far, the Lite is the better system. DSi has too many unnecessary features, and the original DS is just a brick of a thing. But I suppose it comes down to preference. Person can play what they want. My Lite works great so no need to get a DSi, and even if i had to get a new DS (god forbid), I would just get another Lite. :/

I'm still using a used Mario Kart edition DS, even though I have a brand new Zelda edition DS Lite. The bulky hamburger/brick size of the original DS is just more comfortable in the hands for longer periods of time, in my opinion. That, and I want to keep my golden DS Lite in pristine condition for as long as possible.

Kyrenx The bulky hamburger/brick size of the original DS is just more comfortable in the hands for longer periods of time, in my opinion. I agree with Kyrenx. I just bought a DS Lite. Its Red and it as $110...my ds was $60.

I prefer the Ds Lite. I could just slip it in my pocket and go around with it if I wanted. Surprisingly, my Ds lite has not broken down yet, even though my dad threw it against the wall one night.Long story, but in the end it has a small crack in the covering and the screen has a green tint when i close it in middle of game play. Been a year since it hit the wall, I should add. If my Ds lite were to break, I probably would not get a Dsi, and depending on the price maybe a 3Ds.

DS Lite would probably be what I'd buy... It's pretty inexpensive now, and it's pretty durable... Or you could buy the first DS for cheaper, but I doubt you'll find one that's brand new.

DS lites are great IMO. It doesn't hurt that mine has Giratina on the cover, but still~! I have two (one Gira, one diamond pearl edition) and a DS, which is to bulky IMO. But everyone has there cup of tea right?

The same thing happenned to me. I had a black ds lite and i was playing pokemon diamond. i was in the middle of playing it when my top screen just went blank while the game and the bottom screen kept going. I got another ds but still wonder what happenned 2 the old one.

Here is a sad story of f-in low life! (sorry for the language) >:^(
about 3 years ago I went in the Hospital for tests, and one day I had to go down to get a UltraScan! well while I was waiting to get picked up to go to the Ultrascan I was playing my DS (original), he came and I put my DS away and headed out to the room! well about 2 hours later I come back to see that my DS was missing with my Animal Crossing in the DS, and Naruto 3, and my gamecube memory card! (excuse the language, I'm still pissed) Now who the F has the F-in audacity to steal a kid's DS and stuff out of the Kid's room in the Children's Hospital!!!! I mean the Dumb-A probably thought my Gamecube memory card went to the DS! I reported it to the police and they didnt do anything about it saying "you shouldnt have had it out" I didnt even have it out in the open!! they said some kid probably stole it, I knew Hoover Dam well who did it! but I couldnt describe him well enough for them to search him! and out of my luck that day the cameras were down!!
So I had to get a black DSlite that I still use today

i like the DS better then the DS lite because the DS is more durable then the DS lite,i was in my room and i just put it down i come back after 20 minutes and i just pick it up then the thing the conects the top screen and the bottom crack in halve.It happened twice now when i use the DS lite((which i rarely do now))i have to hold it up to a certian level so i can see something other the white.The DS i droped like 5 times((by accidnet))and its like 3 years old which i had longer then the DS lite,plus the DS have better sound quality its louder

Well, that is sad that someone would steal a kids belonging, in a hospital of all places. However it was kinda dumb on your part that you left something as valuable as a DS by itself where other kids mingle and pass through. You didn't have a parent or friend there with you to keep an eye on it, or you couldn't ask the doctor to bring it along with you? I apologize for the comment if there is more to the story. I got another ds but still wonder what happenned 2 the old one. Same kind of thing with me. My top screen goes dark unless the DS is open at a certain angle. It can't be opened all the way or it goes dark. Ever since some dog decided it was a chew toy... Anyway, this is why I can't wait for a 3DS beyond the normal reasons. And because my Lite still operates, I could still transfer things to my DS games. And transfer my Gen 4 Pokemon to Gen 5.
