User ImageLi Wei:
It was good to be home.

With the pride having been relocated to a new, safer homeland and his work, for the moment, over, the god could cool his paws and rest for perhaps a day or two. There were still dozens of prides he would have to locate and scope out. Of course, Maua would likely be right behind him, in his shadows, to insure that nothing had happened to him. Squall could only accompany him to the prides nearby, so it left him defenseless much of the time.

So far, however, things had gone smoothly. Most prides weren't alarmed by the appearence of a dull pelted youth at their boarders. It helped that he was able to coax most lions out of aggression with his mere presense. There were some more hostile prides, he was well aware of this, but it couldn't detour him.

He sighed and stretched his paws out towards the riverbank. He'd dropped the mortal mask, having found a nice, secluded place to rest.

Heftige Gottheit des Mutes
Mutes, as always, was not far behind the god of peace. He knew full well the limits of mortals and thus could not fully depend of Squall. The duties of this god would place him in areas Squall would be forbidden. Where Squall could not go, courage would take up the watch. If it were possible. There would also be the young goddess that had taken a liking to Li as well, so the burden surely would not be completely on him.

Mutes approached the river making no effort to hide himself from the young god. His own mortal mask removed as he drew close to the relaxing god-let.

Personally Mutes enjoyed being in the company of Li.

Li Wei:
Li rolled an ear back and lifted his head up off his outstretched limbs as something quite large stirred the grass behind him. His heart skipped a beat or two before his eyes settled on the bulkey form of his 'older brother'. The cub smiled softly and pushed up to a sit. He'd grown into his horn and his scales since their last encounter.

"Time for a rest for you too?" He half-teased, motioning towards the river. "Isn't it a nice place? 'Heve saw it in her vision. I knew it was here."

Mutes:
Mutes glanced at Li as he took his seat to the god's right. The god had grow much since he had decided to make an appearance directly. It wasn't worth mentioning, Mutes was sure the god was aware of his 'grown up' self.

"So it would seem." He spoke with little emotion to his words. Which meant he was in a good mood. Normally he was quite cold. "Did she?..."

Li Wei:
He sat himself as straight as he could, rolling his shoulders back and lifting his chin. Even as an adult, his head didn't even come to Mut's shoulder. As a god, he was quite small. It was one of his many oddities, but thankfully none of the others had seen his shortcomings as particularly bad qualities. Maua said it was 'cute' in fact.

"She did. She had a vision, drew it out in the sand and everything. She was very careful to point out the waterfall." He nodded out towards the water. Of course, the falls were quite a ways away. Much of the pride liked to cool themselves in the mist of the falls, he didn't mind spending time with them but sometimes staying in his mortal form too long was exhausting.

Mut:
"...I see." Mutes looked back toward the waterfall than returned his gaze to the river before them.
'Heve was one of the few mortals that Mutes had respect for. Personally he had not yet gotten to meet her, but he had heard and seen some of her deeds.

Li Wei:
"There's a lot of fish here." He looked back out to the river and smiled. He'd never seen a fish before fairly recently... he'd always thought they'd be larger. The first female he'd ever met had told him that he was a fish of some sort because of his scales. It had been shocking to see that fish's scales were nothing like his own- and they looked nothing like the creatures his imagination had cooked up.

"If you're hungry. I can't eat them anyway..."

Mut:
Mutes had taken note of all the fish swiming just ahead of them. None had really caught his eye as something delectable for the moment. That and he had never wanted to hunt or kill anything in front of Li.
"I am not." He paused than looked down at Li. "Thank you...."

Those two words were rare among his vocabulary as well. Usually he showed his gratitude through action rather than word. But Li was the exception.

"Have you found a favorite?" Mutes gestured to the fish figuring the god would have at this point. Most likely the brightest...

Li Wei:
"A favorite fish?" Li glanced back to the water, his ears perked upwards as his eyes darted between the large moving forms under the shimmering water. He tipped his head, considering for a moment.

"I...haven't really gotten to know them." He looked back to Mut and chuckled. "The pride eats them... I don't want to get attatched if...something sad happens to them. Mortals need to eat real food you know."

It was a sad fact of life, but it was just the way things were. He'd often lay in the grass among a herd of gazelle. The creatures never ran from him, they had no reason. He had the presense of peace and he'd never risen up against them. They were nice, graceful creatures. Similar to him in their movements and temperment. He quite liked them but he never stayed with them long enough to get to know them, he'd not handle it if one of his friends was killed...

Mut:
"Indeed they do." Mutes looked over the fish once more. A lot of them survived hunts and returned the next season to have their offspring. There was always a chanse.
"Death is as much a part of life as life itself...." Which was another reason Mutes had never gotten too attached to mortals.

Li Wei:
His ears fell slowly as he watched the fish. He knew... of the gods, it seemed he had the most interaction with death itself. He couldn't rightly remember every detail of every past life, but the memories were slowly filling the haze where only blackness had been at one point.

"I know... the pride needs to eat...and they taste good apparently." He looked up slowly, "You're...protecting me aren't you?"

Mut:
"I am." Mutes spoke plainly as he watched the fish. "Is there a problem you have with this?" He looked down at Li with a brow quirked. It wasn't hard to figure out something had bothered the god.

Li Wei:
"Oh no, not at all. I just think it's a bother..." He slumped a bit, his head tucking into his shoulders. "I...travel so much. And I'm sure you have a lot of things to take care of... courage is such a big domain. There's a lot of others that may need your guidence."

He flicked his tail and rubbed at his forepaw. "I mean... I really do appreciate it."

Mut:
"There are many things that I am obligeted to do and I tend to all my duties exactally when they are needed." Mutes hesitated a little before extending his arm than pulling Li in for a man-lion hug. Something so far only Li had ever gotten to experience from the courage god. "Never think of this task as a bother... Many animals die just to obtain the kind of peace you grant them."

Li Wei:
Li nodded slowly. He didn't quite understand, but if Mut said things were under control then he'd not doubt it. Relaxing slightly, the smaller god was caught off-guard and made an awkard yelping sound as he was pulled into a hug. After a moment, he relaxed and chuckled at the friendly gesture. It was about as common as a smile was from Squall, but he'd take it.

Returning the gesture, Li looked back out to the water. "I try... I still have a lot to learn."

Mut:
Mutes nodded than returned his paw from the man-lion hug. It was still a very odd thing for him to do. "In time. I know you will help many as they have helped you."
