So, I was wondering, what would be the best Zombie Weapon that a civilian could own, legally. Such as a weapon you could buy before hand as a safety weapon for a robbery or say, a Zombie Invasion.
Legal weapons (that a normal person could get) are basically those that aren't explosive, over .50 caliber, or automatic- or something like a switch blade, dagger, or double edged weapon of any kind.

Well not many things do make noses I would presume eek For a weapon with no or insignificant moving parts in the weapons operation, I would think that a crowbar would be ideal. Cheap, easy to get (at like a walmart or lowes), relatively light weight, isn't easy to cut yourself, won't "Go dull" and can be used as a blunt force trauma weapon in many ways or as a piercing weapon. They also serve as a great piece of utility; they can be used to open up boxes, provide enormous amounts of leverage, or simply smash their way through things. But, I'm thinking a 12 guage shotgun would be amazing. A Mossberg 500 is basically one of the cheapest "Well Known" shotguns- around 40 inches long, 7.5 pounds, 6 round cap, and it's pump action. Not to mention extreme reliability, as can be expected from a "Main Brand" shotgun. Of course a Spas-12 or a Benneli m4 would pwn, but their about 2000 dollars each. At that point, it would make sense to just buy a high grade weapon of some kind. whee But in terms of other guns, you would need a semi-automatic or manual gun, which basically leaves with a few choices- Semi-automatic Pump-action Bolt Action Revolving Straight up "Manual"

Booze. Rag. Lighter. Cheap, affordable, simple to make. lol There's also a shovel, which could work like a lengthened crowbar if you apply it correctly.

High Point Model C9 9mm Luger. Between 150 to 200 dollars, holds 7+1 9mm Luger rounds, and is easy on the recoil with a fast fire rate.

Personally I don't think that there is a perfect weapon and that you would need a combination of weapons to be effective.
However... This is meant to spark discussion.

A semi-automatic weapon that fires 7.62mm x 39mm rounds; doesn't it being semi-automatic defeat the purpose of 7.62mm x 39mm rounds?

The sks is a forerunner of the AK47 in a way. It used the 7.62x39mm Soviet round before the AK. I like them and with modifications they can be converted to full auto.

Benelli R1 rifle for long distance shooting of zombies, maybe with a ten-round magazine instead of the normal five. That, or the MR1 by the same company. Either way, capable of being bought by civilians. I would recommend a Beretta Px4 Storm for those medium range targets, throw on a silencer made from shitloads of duct tape and a toilet paper roll. Finally, a shotgun. Semi-automatic would be preferred. That's assuming you're going all out with the firearms, if not. The rifle only, and get yourself a crowbar or an axe. Maybe both.

It depends on what type of zombies you're dealing with. If it's the classic slow moving ones, then you'd need an accurate long range weapon, such as a bolt action or semi-auto because you can only kill them by murdering the crap out of their brains. If it's the new kind, where they run like track stars, then it really doesn't matter which weapon you choose because you're screwed anyway.
