Txuratan was not a lion who was easily intimidated. He had always thought of himself as being fairly brave, all things considered. After all, he didn't hesitate before going off on his own into the dense forest around the pride, or in swimming in even the river's most rapid current. His friendship with Petra had made him considerably less awed by the authority figures of the pride, since she portrayed them to him as being regular lions like himself. There was no reason for him to drag his paws about talking to Zelt'zin about his choice of vocation.
"Enough procrastinating," he told himself. "If I am nervous or afraid, it is of nothing. There is no one in this pride who might mean me harm, least of all Zelt'zin."
He'd met Zelt'zin personally on only one other occasion, and he'd been but a cub at the time. His memories of the meeting were fuzzy, but he remembered vaguely that she'd been approachable and kind. She'd also been very confident that Mother Eywa would return to the pride soon. Her own belief had somehow managed to infect Txur, who had never doubted it since she said it.
He stood up and made his way to where he thought he might find the head priestess. She wasn't there, but given the nature of her duties, he knew she would be there at some point during the day. He had only to wait. He did hope she'd come along soon, however, because the longer he sat the more his nerves sang with anxiety.

The idea of the head priestess of the pride being where she was supposed to be was quiet a concept. Most of them would be, that was the truth, however Zelt'zin was a creature of her own. She wasn't in the temple doing what she should at this time of the day she was a bit of an odd creature and the truth was she was hanging upside down in a tree. Her belly clung to the branch and her legs wrapped around the branch.Following sloths, thats what she was doing. "Hey guys! You move slow." She giggled slightly before letting go of the branch twisting herself around so she landed on her paws.
"Bye guys! I have stuff to do!" She giggled as she started to trot away. She believed it was nice to get to know all of the creatures around the pride even if they were meant to be prey. But then again as she had learned from the goddess mother a long time ago they weren't meant to be just prey you were supposed to get to know them because they took care of the pride lands in different ways. Maybe Zelt was a little crazy but you know she was alright with that.
She approached the den her head held high before she had caught the glance of the young lion standing in front of her den. She cocked her head to the side before processing who it was. Ah! It was that young male she had met a while ago. He had grown a lot. She chuckled slightly before approaching him with a curt nod she spoke. "Hello there young one!" She chirped before smiling softly at him. She felt excited to have some one visiting, she loved visitors.
"What is on your mind young one?" She asked curiously arching a brow at him as she flopped down on her haunches.

"I see you, Mother Zelt'zin," Txur greeted Zelt'zin with a polite nod of his head that was maybe just a little nervous at the same time.
She was being informal, and so he would adapt himself to that, but good manners required him to at least greet her appropriately. He wasn't sure if it would make it more or less difficult for him to speak to her in an informal setting. After a moment's contemplation he decided she had made it infinitely easier on him by making the atmosphere casual. Txur's manners were flawless at need, but it was easier to speak when he wasn't trying to phrase things politely the whole time.
"I have been thinking about my future in the pride," he began as he sat down, too. He was still sitting up pretty straight, but his was a much more relaxed posture than it had been before. "I have been thinking that I would like to train as a priest."
He paused here. Although he had been looking at Zelt'zin the whole time, he now allowed his eyes to actually focus on her, rather than just be turned in her direction. He wanted to see her reaction to this. He doubted she would have any complaints, actually. He now remembered that she was a very friendly lioness, and easy to get along with. She also had a wide streak of playfulness. This wouldn't be so bad.

Zelt nodded as the young adult greeted her in a formal way. Normally with anyone that wasn't fully grown Zelt has a habit of not greeting them normally. She flicked her tail behind her a few times before flopping down on her haunches and smiling slightly. She was curious about what the male was wanting. She loved seeing the youth around here in the pride interested into doing various things in the pride.
At what he said Zelt grin even more before flicking her hair out of her eyes and then nodding. "Really? That sounds amazing little one." She chuckled flicking her hair out of her eyes then nodded do him. "I can say that If you are interested into that I would love to take you under my wing." She chuckled slightly standing up on her feet once more. "Come with me young one I want to take you to the tree and teach you about what you are goingt o be getting youreself into."

Zelt'zin's grin brought Txur heart and confidence. He didn't know what he had been so worried about. He had never met anyone in the pride who had been unpleasant to him or sincerely tried to make his life difficult. There was no reason he should have expected it of the high priestess. She was widely known to be the most diverting and pleasant of lionesses.
"You think it's a good idea?" he asked, a smile sneaking into his expression. "I'm so glad!"
And she said she'd love to take him under her wing. That was too wonderful for words. He supposed she probably didn't mean that she'd be personally teaching him about the priesthood, but it was a pleasant thought. No one could possibly know more about it than she, and train him any better. He did want to be the best he could be.
"You'll take me to the tree?" he repeated. He probably sounded like an idiot, but he was far too happy and excited to care. "Thank you! Are we going right now?"

Zelt'zin was glad to see the male seemed like he was really interested into the idea that she was going to take him under her wing. She chuckled slightly before nodding to him. "Of course I think it's a good idea!" She chuckled a few more times then stretched her legs out before she started to trot through the bushes. "Of course I am! Gonna give you an idea of what you are going to learn about." She told the younger lion as she looked back at him for a moment. "I move quick! Come on!" He chuckled slightly as he started to wander a little faster.
She then flicked her hair out of her eyes and wandered a little closer to the male once more and then bumped him before trotting a little faster into the forest, heading toward the tree quickly. Weaving her ways through. "I'm not sure if you're father has taken you through here or not before, but the area around it the forest is really dense." She chcuckled slightly at the idea, some thought she was crazy for making this adventure often but Zelt loved it every time she did.

Txur wasn't sure how much there was to be told about what he would learn while training for the priesthood. It was basically communing with Eywa and offering good advice, from what he could tell. He wasn't bad at advice as it was, and he was sure he could learn to commune with Eywa with relative ease. But in spite of all this he smiled, looking forward to learning whatever Zelt'zin felt like teaching him.
He bounded quickly to keep up with her as she warned him about moving fast. He'd actually noticed that for himself, he thought with a grin. But it was good that she acknowledged it about herself, he guessed. Maybe that was part of training to be a priest, too. Learning to know oneself. Txur guessed he'd do pretty well at that, too. There wasn't a lot he didn't know about himself, and he didn't think there was anything about himself that he'd find difficult to accept or come to terms with.
He followed her, moving through the trees easily. He spent a lot of time in the forest, though mostly by the river because of his fondness for swimming. The first part of the forest she led him through looked familiar, and he said as much, but the longer they progressed through the dense foliage the less familiar the way became. He couldn't believe there was anywhere within half a day of the pride that he didn't know intimately.
"Now this looks new!" he exclaimed as he continued to follow her over roots and under branches. "How much farther is it?"

Zelt'zin really was loking forward to teaching the young male this was because his litter was the first of the young ones in the pride and on top of that he was the first to express interest into becoming a priest and well this excited her a lot. She purred as she lead him, this was really exciting to her, and she now knew how her mother could get so excited at times she used to get annoyed at her mother's exictement but now she didn't only miss her but she also understood her mother.
"It should be new! Not many others come this way." She smiled before thinking for a moment. "Not that far off." She paused looking around just to make sure what she said was true, she sure it was but some times she was a little off. "Mother Ewya tends to frequent around here and otherwise it's just me and the priests. Mostly me and Satomi, you know the lioness, she's pretty small." She chuckled again offering an explanation for why it was so dense. "I know some others come in this direction for guidance but other then that not many..." Her voice trailed before she pushed herself through a smallish gap between a large bush. "Here we are!"
She laughed slightly and sat back on her haunches looking at the very large and colorful tree in front of her. "It's very beautiful in the night, but here is where many go for guidance."

At first hearing Zelt'zin's purring startled Txur, but he didn't remark on it. Clearly she was happy about something, whether it was something to do with him or something completely unrelated was irrelevant. He had never known her mother, and so he would not have known that she tended to get similarly excited. He was under the impression that Zelt'zin was simply an effusive, effervescent lioness by nature, but didn't know how she'd come by it.
"I've never seen Mother Eywa," Txur remarked, mostly to himself. He had been waiting to meet her for his entire life it seemed, since he had no recollections of his own mother, he had at some point in his youth transferred all those things a person usually felt for their mother to the mother goddess. If she was everyone's mother, then surely she was his, too, and he wasn't wrong in doing so. He didn't think his own mother would mind.
"I'm also not sure I've ever really met Priestess Satomi. I know of her, but..." He hoped Zelt'zin would understand his distinction, but his thoughts and speech trailed off as they reached the spirit tree.
The adolescent had vague memories of it from when he was very young and his father had brought him and his siblings into the pride, but that had happened a long time ago, it seemed, and now it was almost like he was seeing it for the first time. He certainly hadn't understood its significance as a mere cub, but now he knew that this tree was the Na'vi's connection to the world and each other and their goddess, and so he was a little awed.
"It's beautiful," he exclaimed softly. "Thank you for taking me here."

For Zelt to purr it wasn't exactly an abnormal thing. It truthfully wasn't. She was a very happy lioness at many times. There was few that upset her and made her sad and evenwhen there was something that made her sad or upset she normally hid it for a while until she felt much better about things. So in a ways she purred very often, she didn't care what others thought about it either.
She looked toward the male before looking down at her paws for the moment before she looked ahead of her again. There was one thing that is true and one thing that made her sad was when she knew that some of the newer generations didn't meet mother Eywa and that part of their ceremonies of almost being an adult. It made her sad and she wished that she could fix it. It was one of her favorite and msot memorable parts of being younger for her. she looked at him and shook is head. "Well... I know you will get to meet her some time soon." She knew she coudl feel it, she knew that mother Eywa would come back some time soon.
Zelt grinned ear to ear as she looked at the male, grinning more and more very happily. "Well! What can I say," she chuckled then turned toward the male again. "You'll get used to seeing her." The lioness laughed again she knew the lioness liked to visit the new comers to the whole world of being a priest.
She stood next to the male proudly as he looked at the tree, he puffed his chest out and then smiled widely. "Well! It isn't a problem at all." She laughed before motioning out a paw to the tree. "Well, a good first day start that I can have you do it to go pray." She chuckled quietly before she started to wander toward the tree, brushing her tail against the low hanging leaves. "You'lll probably be coming here often." she noted with a nod.

"Certainly," Txuratan agreed.
While it was a little hard to accept, he made himself say it in hopes that he would come to believe it. If he was going to be a priest, belief was probably crucial. It wasn't that he didn't believe in Mother Eywa, however. He just had a hard time believing that he would get to meet her. After all, she'd been absent since before he and his family came to the pride, and she still had yet to appear, and he was already an adolescent. That was a long time, by Txur's way a reckoning.
It was easier to agree with Zelt'zin, though, because she seemed to genuinely believe it, and she was so happy. He followed her as she walked toward the tree. It wasn't really a sense of awe which kept him trailing behind her, rather than racing ahead. It was more that it was polite to follow one's elders and allow them to go first. Particularly when they were the pride's spiritual leader, as this particular elder was. It was strange to think that soon he would be calling most adults "sister" and "brother" instead of "mother" and "father."
"Shall I do that, then?" Txur asked, speaking softly so he wouldn't disturb the others who were already there, praying. This wasn't exactly how he'd expected the encounter to go. He'd thought he'd just ask if it was all right for him to study with the priests and she would say either yes or no. He should have known better.

Zelt smiled and nodded at the male before trotting a little closer to the tree pausing before speaking a little distracted herself. She snapped out of it with the second thing the male spoke. "Oh!" She half squeaked looking back at him and nodding. "Of course." She squeaked before wandering a little closer to the tree once more. "Just pray." She half purred what she spoke before she turned toward the male and nodded to him. "Make yourself comfortable and just pray. It's really nice to do." Her voice was kind of distant, still pretty distracted.
This place always put her in awe. Every time she saw it she couldn't help but to think about it, it overwhelmed her thoughts. There was many many memories that she got from being here. she remembered being young thinking that this, and well everywhere else, was just a really awesome place. When she thought about it now and all of the things that had to do she thought of it really differently.

Txur had payed before, of course, but he had never actually sought out the Tree on his own for solitary prayer. It had seemed presumptuous to him. After all, who was he? The child of an outsider. No one had ever made him feel unwelcome, but Txur had never felt quite right about taking that sort of action. It would have seemed like he was trying to force belonging. But if Zelt'zin told him he should do it, it would be all right.
"All right," he agreed.
His instinct was just to plop down where he was so that he wouldn't look like he was picky or anything like that, but he decided it would be wiser to actually seek a comfortable place and position before beginning to pray. He did this and it took no more than a few extra seconds. It was a little awkward to pray with someone watching, but he guessed he'd have to get used to that if he was going to be a priest. Still, he did hope Zelt'zin would leave him to do this alone. He couldn't really make himself comfortable while he thought she was there, even if she was obviously distracted.

Zelt really hoped that she really wasn't making him feel uncomfrotable, but yet at the same time she didn't really care there was many times where there was going to be some one else around him while he was praying. She glanced at him for a moment before smiling and turning back toward the tree, so many memories filled her thoughts and she couldn't help but to pause and took a moment. Before closing her eyes and wrapping her tail around one of the branches near her taking a moment to pray herself. She couldn't help it but it was something that was hard -not- to do while she was there. It was a prettying interesting thing that always drove her to praying in the long run.
She purred quietly as she finished up her prayers. Prayers full of hopes for her home to return back to normal, her relationship with her mate to some day be filled with cubs, and also for the mother to return back to homelands, she knew it wasn't too much to hope and pray for, or alteast she hoped that was the case.
Once she was finished, she paused and stretched her paws out and turned back toward the male looking at him for a moment and thinking, it made her happy. The new members made him happy really the youth made her hppy.
