 Riley stood next to a pond. He dipped his head down to take a drink. The water was cool and refreshing. It was a hot summer and well, the water felt good. When he opened his eyes he saw another stallion looking up from the pond. Riley jumped back and then chuckled, "Hello!" He said to his reflection, thinking it was an other pony.

 LIke most other Soq, Branwen was in search of water. It was simply too hot to rely on the shade of a tree and while flying did provide a col wind, she couldn't stay airborne forever. So water was her only option at this point. And she was beginning to lose hope of finding even that when she finally caught the unmistakable glimmer of a pond down below. With a happy sigh, she pushed herself to fly faster, all too anxious to feel the cool water's relief.
She plunged into the pond and nearly submerged her entire body in it, disturbing the water's surface quite a bit. It wasn't until after she had spent some time enjoying the coolness that she noticed the stallion standing at the pond's edge. She immediately stood up straight and tucked her wings against her side, feeling a bit embarrassed, "Oh, excuse me. I didn't realize someone else was here."

Riley finally realized whta he was looking at when the mare disrupted the water. His image bounced and changed and Riley laughed at his foolishness.
Riley blinked as he now saw what had made his image bounce and change. "That's ok! I thought there was someone else here and it was only my reflection." He shook his head to show that he knew it was dumb of him, but he really didn't get embarrassed easily.

Branwen laughed at Riley's admission, glad that the stallion she had accidentally run into seemed quite friendly, "Oh, I've done that a few times myself. And a heat like this certainly does play tricks on the mind." She grinned and swam towards him, tail trailing behind her like a snake, "I guess you're here for the same reason I am, huh?"
As she asked her question she reached the bank of the pond and stepped out, making sure she had some distance between herself and Riley. This was for two reason; first, to be sure she didn't splash water on him as she shook herself off, which she promptly did. And second, because history had taught her to never let her guard down, no matter how friendly this new face seemed.

He smiled at her response. Maybe this was a mare he could befreind. He always liked making friends. "Are you here to play in the water?" He was here to drink and play. He could come up with a million-and-one games to play.
He watched her shake off excess water and then bowed his head in greeting, "I'm Riley!" He tapped the ground with one hoof and smiled.

"Well, I came here just to cool off, but playing sounds much more interesting!" Branwen gave a soft giggle then bowed her head slightly at his introduction, "It's nice to meet you Riley. I'm Branwen." Because she truly felt no threat from this stallion, she allowed herself to move closer to him, spreading her wings just a bit as she did so the feathers could dry just a bit faster.
"What sort of games do you play around here?" She was genuinely curious and quite excited to learn about his games. It was always nice to meet others, but meeting someone who loved playing games as much as she did and had such a young personality was just so much fun to be around.

"Well, I like to play anything. I can make up any game. Is there anything you like to play?" Riley smiled and looked at her wings. He had never met anyone with wings before. "I love games that you have to compete, but I don't always have someone to compete with."
