Cat sighed heavily as he straightened up, wiping away sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. It had certainly taken a lot of work, gathering all these pieces of scrap metal. It had been dangerous too, as exemplified by the bandages on his fingers and the recently-received tetanus shot in his arm. But, hopefully it would all be worth it. No one could say that Cat didn't go to great lengths for these kids.
Even with all the back-breaking labor [at least for Cat's untrained muscles], there was a satisfied smile on his face as he looked over his handiwork one more time. Enough metal to plate a car with most of the sharp edges dulled down, first aid kit, targets printed out on paper on the walls... Yup, the only thing missing was his student. Cat sighed once more as he sat by his desk to wait. It was odd how many of his classes were ending up practically like Melee ones. These spawn should be less violent with their powers...

Zipping down the hallways, Ily nearly ran over the techs she passed by. Thankfully most moved out of the way enough so she didn't end up tackling them. The rest she managed to move around, only slightly clipping them as she passed. Damn, why did Damon have to take so long in getting her to the place?
Sliding to a sudden stop, Ily pulled the door open and peeked inside. A mountain of metal and targets were the first things that caught her eye before finally noticing the man behind the desk off to one side. "This... is a magic class, right?" she asked slowly, eying the metal objects. None were sharp, unlike her tail, and seemed to vary in size and weight.

Cat smiled warmly when Ilyrosa entered the classroom, and nodded in response to her question. "Yup. I'm Cat, your Spirituality teacher. Sorry for the mess, but I promise it's for something constructive." He gingerly side-stepped around the pile, only now considering the fact that he might have gone overboard with gathering materials. Oh well, nothing he could do about it now. He beamed at the child and then gestured to the heap of metal.
"So, I assume you're wondering what all the mess is about, right? Well, I am a dream-seer, and I had a dream about you that told me what magic you possess. You have a kind of telepathic control over metal, kind of like Magneto from X-Men. Therefore, I had to get a bunch of metal for you to practice with. Make sense?" he finished with a smile. He hoped he'd explained that properly enough; the opening monologue was still something he was working on.

"Magneto? I'm going to control metals like him? Wow," Ily commented softly, remembering her past classes at the facility. It seemed like they were giving her more and more creative and unique abilities like being able to run across water and buildings. And now, she was going to be a bit like the famous super villain? Sweet. "Yeah. Makes sense I s'pose," she added upon entering the room fully.
"So let me guess; I'm going to be using my abilities over the metal and throwing it at the targets?" Ily asked, putting two and two together in an attempt at figuring out what they were actually going to do in the class. Anything with metal or targets generally meant some sort of fun thing was in store. Generally.

Cat smiled warmly at the girl and nodded. "You guess correctly. Not that I condone hurling pieces of metal at people you don't like, but this seemed like the best way to get you used to controlling your powers." It was only now that Cat had the tiniest doubt about how he chose to teach this class. Ilyrosa was a Wrath kid, after all; he could just see her losing her temper and someone else losing an eye. He winced inwardly; well, it wouldn't do any good to think like that. He'd just have to trust her to have good judgment.
He clapped his hands together and rubbed them in readiness. "Okay, so let's begin. Now, we're going to start by just having you lift the metal. What you're going to do is raise your hand like this-" he gestured, stretching out his arm and spreading his fingers "-and concentrate solely on a piece of your choice. Think 'up' as firmly as you can, and try not to think of anything else."

"Like in Harry Potter?" Ily giggled, a broad grin spreading across her features. This was going to be great fun, she could tell instantly. Despite her wrath blood, the girl seemed to be fairly friendly and hyper especially now that she realized what it was she was going to learn.
Stretching out her hand, Ily concentrated on a smaller, lighter piece that reflected bits of her back on the polished surface. In her mind, the word 'up' rang clear through her thoughts like a bell. Almost instantly the piece shot up into her hand, catching the wrath spawn off guard. "Woah! That... was... so cool!" she gasped, gazing in awe at the metallic object that now resided in her hand.

Cat chuckled along with his student at her suggestion. "Sure, like Harry Potter, why not?" He was amused by how friendly Ilyrosa was, despite her violent sin. Just goes to show you can't judge by a book by its cover. Or its genetics. Still, he took a step back when she began attempting her talent for the first time. It also paid to be careful.
The speed at which the metal flew towards Ilyrosa surprised Cat as well, and he laughed in shock, clapping once or twice. "Woah is right, that was excellent! Now, take aim at the target close to you," he instructed, gesturing to the indicated paper, "and try and hit as close to the middle as you can. Also try not to break my window," he added with obvious humor in his voice.

"But that's the best part," Ily whined when Cat told her not to break his windows. She was ultimately joking, of course, hoping a good deal that she wouldn't shatter it. The poor man probably had had enough with sharp pointy objects after gathering up all the metal objects for her class.
"I'm only kidding," she added, turning to the target and focusing in on the bulls-eye and the metal object resting on the palm of her hand. Slowly, ever so slowly the weight receded while the metal object slowly rose higher and higher into the air. Then, with the speed of an arrow, hit one of the outer rings of her target.
"I DID IT!" Ily cheered, grinning ear to ear at her accomplishment. Hey, she actually HIT the target so that had to be good, right? And Cat's window was still intact which was an even bigger plus since she was, in all honesty, expecting the object to zing off course and plow right through the brittle material.

Cat chuckled at Ilyrosa's joke, having caught onto the humor immediately. Once again, he was happy that the Wrath girl was, at least for now, well-mannered. It certainly made his job a lot easier. Leaning back casually against his desk, he smiled and played along with the joke. "Oh, I know, but as long as you're in my classroom, windows have to stay intact. Uh... Not that I am officially endorsing smashing windows. Only unofficially," he said with a chuckle and a wink. He enjoyed jesting with his students here; it was a welcome reprieve from the humorless or cruel humans kids at his other job.
The man chuckled when Ilyrosa grinned at her accomplishment, and nodded his approval. "That you did, and very well too, considering it was your first try." He gestured around the room, indicating the paper targets placed throughout. "Now, do you want to move onto another target, or try and get a bulls-eye? I have to tell you, that one's probably the easiest one to hit; others are smaller, farther away, placed inconveniently, et cetera," he explained with a smile. Cat had obviously gone the extra mile to prepare for this lesson. Not that that was an uncommon thing with his Facility classes.

“I’ll go for a bulls-eye. Better that than risk a window’s fragile life,” Ily replied with a grin. Taking a deep breath, the girl determinedly focused on another piece and, like before, commanded it to rise to her hand. Yet, it wasn’t the small piece she wanted that rose up. No, it was the three times larger object hidden beneath it. Startled and pushed off-balance, the metal went sailing through the air and took out the entire target and a little of the one behind it as it barreled along in a huge arc. Somehow, it miraculously missed the ceiling, walls, and didn’t leave a mark on the floor as it crashed into it. Fortunately or unfortunately, the metal piece tore the ENTIRE target down off the hooks that held it there and took a nice sized chunk out of the corner of the next target.
“Oops... I can go fix that with some tape if you want,” Ily said apologetically, giving the metal piece the death glare. It made her destroy the target the nice teacher had put up and true to her demonic side, the girl felt that ever present rage start bubbling up. It rested there, just out of sight, bubbling up and waiting for the right moment to spill over in a rush of blind fury. It was only a matter of time before something was destroyed be it the metal itself or the poor paper targets the man had set up.

Being the diligent and faithful teacher that he was, Cat blamed himself for the destruction that took place within his room. After all, he was the one who, because Ilyrosa had taken to her new talent so quickly, hadn't been looking when she summoned up her new piece of metal. And he couldn't rightly blame the girl, seeing as this was the second time she'd ever done this. Ever. So when the crash sounded, he jumped up with a womanly shriek, but wore a smile on his face as he surveyed the damage. He put his hands up placatingly, trying to quell the girl's anger.
"Ah, it's all right. Nothing's broken besides the target, and well, that was supposed to happen." Cat laughed lightly, moving the pieces of target towards the trash can. "And if you think about it, you did get a bulls-eye of sort." He smiled again, trying to lighten the mood and relieve the girl's anger. "Now, how about you try again? Perhaps if you specifically focus on a piece, it will respond. Don't worry," he added with a reassuring pat, "You're doing great."
