Triton knelt quietly alongside the stream, taking a moment to catch a drink after a long fruitless search. Covered from horn to hoof in a spattering of dust and dirt, dried mud clinging in small clumps to his thick fur. He would have preferred to be cleaner, and wouldn't have cared about the dirt at all if only he'd found what he was looking for out in that pit. Treasure they said! Bah, there had been no treasure, old ruinous things and garbage yes..metal and rubber and rock, but not a bit of treasure lying out there in that sink hole.
His head dipped low and tongue lapping at the cool refreshing water, long braid trailing over his shoulders; partially soaked as it dipped and floated beside him. It had been, not an entirely disappointing day, not the sort of day he'd hoped for, but it could have been worse. At least he'd come out of it all in one piece, prize-less and filthy, but unscathed. Triton's dark lavender eyes flitting from his reflection in the water to his surroundings. The slightest sound of rustling leaves causing him to still, ears tilting and straining to catch more of the sound..Was probably just the wind..or some stupid lizard, but he wasn't about to take a chance.

Narcissa was making her way to the stream nearest to her home, a place she traveled to daily for grooming purposes. As this was standard procedure, she was not mindful of where she stepped or how she looked. Nobody was ever around here after all, so she wouldn't have to worry about embarrassing herself with no one to be witness. This was the place she'd been coming to since she was a yearling, a place for her to relax, and encountering other herla here was a very rare event.
And, since no one was ever here, it didn't matter if she had one or two leaves stuck in her curls or if her canter was clumsy, it didn't matter if he hair was tangled or her clothes messy. Of course, her guardian was scolding her for being so unladylike. For the moment though, she was ignoring her guardian, bathing and relaxing was top priority.
The hind known as the moonstone strolled out of the bushes, unaware that someone was there to witness her looking so disheveled.

Dark lavender eyes glued themselves to the cream colored figure that slipped out of the bushes, unabashedly staring, the hart taking in every bit of detail he could of the rather striking hind. Following the bounce of pastel purple curls, the swish of pink fabric that bunched and moved with her nonchalant stride. He found himself smirking, chiding himself a bit for thinking he had a chance. Pfft the state he was in, only another mud monster would have bothered tossing him an interested look! Course..it didn't hurt to announce himself a bit did it? Nothing ventured nothing gained, and all that wise crap...
Pushing himself to his hooves, and giving his pelt a slight shake in a poor attempt to make himself look slightly less dusty. He hardly noticed the leaves in her hair, her slightly disheveled look. He was hardly one to care about such minor things anyways.
"Heh..to think I spent all that time in the mud hunting for treasure, when all I needed to do was hunt my own back yard" Triton purred, speaking slightly louder then was needed, just to catch the harts attention. He could have waited on and watched, but he didn't want to seem like a complete stalker! No no, he'd gotten himself in enough trouble for that.

Freezing in place, a blush came to Narcissa's cheeks. It was so embarrassing that she'd been caught like this and it took all her will power just to turn her head and look over at the hart that saw her looking so unladylike.
Of course, as she looked over some of her uneasiness dissipated. This hart was absolutely filthy, compared to how he looked, she was spotless. The few hairs out of place, the leaves, they were no match for the amount of mud this hart was covered in.
"Excuse me?" She raised an eyebrow and began to wade into the shallower waters. She pursed her lips as she looked away, she wanted to focus on her own beautiful reflection rather than all that dirt.
"You, sir, need to clean yourself up."

Triton could feel himself blushing sheepishly beneath his thick fur, raising his head to better watch her as she stepped into full view. Much more beautiful standing there in the stream then she was partially hidden by the bushes and grass. "I apologize for all this, ah..mud. To both you and the poor river I'm about to dip myself in, I nearly feel bad for it!" Triton joked, chuckling slightly and giving his filth ridden coat a shake, a small cloud of dust rising about him and bringing on a fit of sneezing as he made his way into the water.
"Your absolutely right though..clean..normally I'm not so filthy you know? I have some sense of hygiene. It's not all so bad though, in fact I think a dirt bath every now n then does quite a lot of good. Dontcha agree miss?" Triton sniffed, dragging his snout across his leg in an attempt to keep himself from sneezing again. He was tempted to ask her name, but seeing as he couldn't even catch a proper look from her..maybe he'd wait to get personal until after he'd scrubbed himself down.
