Gabriel was still deliriously happy. Well, "G'brel" actually was deliriously happy. (It had occurred to her the previous day that since she was a rider now she could officially shorten her name! Yay!) The teen could have never imagined up in all her Turns the handsome and intelligent blue who would become her life partner. She had heard the rider-dragon bond described many times, but all descriptions fell short of the actual feeling. To feel the bond and connection that was present with one's dragon was a new realm of sensation all in of itself that even her little green firelizard's impression paled in comparison to. Speaking of the green...
"Oi! Mossy! Help me out a bit here, will ya?" The little flitter was having entirely too much fun diving and swimming about in the nearby lake, chasing the tiny fish that came near the shore just for fun. Meanwhile, G'brel and Lifth were out on the shore, the teen spending time oiling and bonding with her dragon.
I do not believe that she heard you, the blue observed, watching in a detached manner as the green firelizard surfaced and blinked over at them with a tilt of her head. It is just as well. I don't believe she would be of much help in oiling.
"True enough," G'brel replied with a small chuckle, working some oil onto his wings. "You would think she was half dolphin or something though with as much time as she spends swimming about and chasing fish." This was such a pleasant time. She was really quite enjoying the peace and tranquility that they were being allowed for this past day and today, for she knew that the upcoming months would be busy as hell. Still, with Lifth at her side, it would be totally worth it. With enough hard work they would become the best rider pair out there. Plus there was the Hatching feast to look forward to tonight.
There are no doubts on us being the best, he agreed, eyes whirling a placid blue. We will do what we can and must. The others will see. And if they didn't see, then clearly they weren't paying enough attention. There was no need to go out of the way to prove what was already an established fact though. As long as he and His knew they were best, that was enough for the blue.

It's a very long walk. Luvith noted, of the distance to the waterfront, her head bobbing as they went.
"I told you it was..." S'kagi grunted, shifting his grip slightly. The little Crimson had tired herself out partway here, though she would, he understood, grow quickly stronger, and larger. Right now though she was an good work out when she got tired.
I know. But tomorrow I'll make it all the way. She noted, stubbornly. Of course she'd said the same thing before they'd started out to wash her and then oil her. She must have caught S'kagi's touch of disbeleif in this promise because she added a vigorous I will!
"I'm sure you will at some point, but Don't rush it. I'd rather you not hurt yourself."
I won't. Luvith argued stubbornly. But We will be strong, people will be amazed by us.
"Of course we will." S'kagi agreed, feeling a quiet swell of pride at her confidence, and let a grin cross his face as he recognized G'brel as they approached, though he wasn't sure he'd seen them yet. "But first we have to tell Gabriel congratulations." He added, as they approached. Women didn't always shorten their names, so he wasn't sure if she had.

Mine, Luvith and Hers are approaching, Lifth remarked, watching as the rider pair approached them.
"Who?" she replied before turning to see whom the blue was talking about. "Hey! Saekagi!" she greeted cheerfully, waving him over with a broad grin. "Or is it S'kagi? S'agi? S'gi? You're going to have to tell me how to address you. Congratulations on Luvith; she is a beautiful crimson."
Lifth waited patiently as His rambled on in greeted what seemed to be a friend of hers. Once she seemed to have finished, he asked, Well? Aren't you going to introduce me?
"Oh right, sorry. Sae, this here is Lifth. Lifth, this is Mr. Not-Spy."
Not-Spy? he inquired.
Hehe, long story. I'll tell you about it later.

"S'kagi." He confirmed, still grinning, the brightest he had to date, though he still hadn't brushed his hair away from the scarred side of his face. "Is it rude to ask if you changed yours?" He wasn't -entirely- sure of the etiquette on that matter as he put the small Crimson on the sand, where she proudly stretched her wings, clearly pleased at the compliment.
Not spy? Luvith echoed, looking up to her partner, who rolled his eyes but seemed amused.
I'll explain, I promise, Luvith. It's a joke because I came a long way to Trine.
Good thing you did. I worked hard to find you, I don't know what you'd do without me. Luvith cocked her head with supreme self confidence for a tiny thing who'd been carried a good part of the way here, not making any effort to hide her comments from the other dragon.
"Nice to meet you Lifth. You have a very good partner." S'kagi noted, though he was pretty sure, based on Luvith, that no dragon who'd impressed would think otherwise. "We came down to wash Luvith and then oil her." He explained.

"Why would it be rude? Can't know unless you ask," the bluerider replied, still grinning happily. "My name is now officially 'G'brel'-- although I won't take any offense if you decide to call me Gabriel or Gabby or 'Hey you' even." It was good to see the older boy smiling so brightly. She had been very pleased for him when he had impressed. "Luvith, I am officially delegating cheer duty to you," she added playfully. "Don't let S'kagi become Mr. Grumpy-Face, alright?"
You enjoy using nicknames, don't you.
Hey, they can be fun on occasion. "Well, if you need help with any washing Mossy is already in the water. I'm sure she wouldn't mind giving some assistance." The flit may have been useless for oiling, but she had been quite helpful before in scrubbing and washing all of the goo and dirt off of Lifth with her. "I'm about half-way done oiling Lifth myself. By the way, did we miss anything exciting yesterday? I had to leave shortly after Luvith found you to wash this one here, so we didn't get to see the end of the Hatching."
You needed washing yourself, the blue reminded her.
Yes, because you were kind enough to share you stickiness thank you very much.
Doesn't change the fact that you needed washing.

"I think I can manage, she's still very small." S'kagi admitted, which earned him a thwack across the ankles with a sturdy little crimson tail. "Ow!" He added, though honestly it didn't hurt that much, and was merely startling.
Luvith gave a short sharp nod of her head to G'brel, adding to Lifth: Tell G'brel I am determined to not let him be 'Mr. Grumpy Face'.
"There was only one dragon that went between, a little green... but there was a blue that scratched up the boy he impressed, and a Silver that clawed up several girls." He gave a slight shudder at the memory. "He was pretty strong, compared to the other Atypes. There was a black and another Crimson. Remember that girl in the stands? The one with the really orange hair that kept yelling? Not the one that the gold went to..." He tried to explain, gesturing vaguely as Luvith splashed her way into the shallow water, flapping her wings and spraying droplets of water around. It was hard to forget the new Goldrider's outburst of "In your face".
"The really loud one. She impressed the second crimson." He explained, flinching slightly although the droplets of water didn't make it quite far enough to splatter either of them. "Hold on, I'm coming!"

Will do, he replied to Luvith before relaying the message to His. Luvith accepts your delegation.
Excellent. Be sure to thank her for me. "If you're certain then; if you change your mind though do let me know."
Mine sends her appreciation and thanks, Lifth told the crimson, stretching out his left wing a bit as His continued to oil him.
G'brel listened closely as S'kagi described the rest of the events. Yes, she had seen the unfortunate green go Between, but the rest was rather interesting news to her. She was certainly glad she hadn't been in the Candidate line still when the silver was loose. "Ofelia impressed?!?" she exclaimed happily. "Oh wow! That's awesome!" she said with a grin. The Tanner would be quite fun company to have around. "Well, it sounds like I'm going to have a lot of congratulating to do during tonight's feast. But first I think you need to go and wash off Luvith," she said with a giggle as the crimson splashed about. Mossy had let out a surprised cry as the dragonet entered the water, but quickly joined with the larger female in diving and splashing about.

Galvanth was sneaking. ... Galvanth was sneaking as well as an enormous Bronze dragon could, but for what it was, it was very stealthy! He was certain that his rider had not noticed, and really who could possibly mind if he wanted to go meet some of the new babies? Creeping along with exaggerated care, he made his way to the lake in the hopes of finding some hatchlings. Shuffle shuffle... drag, drag. Irritated by the way his tail made more noise, he lifted it up into the air, swinging it around and sending a smallish boulder rolling. Oh dear. That was rather problematic, wasn't it? He let out the equivalent of a draconic sigh, and padded along toward the lake.
... There was splashing. He had heard splashing, and this was a very good sign. Babies splashed, did they not? The 'crafty' Bronze continued to sneak up on the small gathering, eyes whirling with happy blue-greens as he took in the sight of them. Yes, there were dragonets! The hulking Bronze finally reached them, and lowered his head until it was level with their own (which was very low indeed!) and bespoke them. May I know you? he inquired with just a touch of wistfulness, because S'raid would not approve of his decision if he heard him-- which S'raid had. It would only be a matter of time before his rider arrived and called him to order.
He did not want to be called to order. He wanted to meet the babies, and to perhaps play with them, even though one was a Crimson. He did not approve of her color especially, but she was a baby dragon, and somehow her pitiful weakness was endearing. He could not quite help himself. Crooning at the dragonets, he sat back on his haunches, and waited to see what they would do. You are very small, he remarked, peering down with some curiosity at the pair. The Blue, he thought, was actually just a little larger than the Crimson. This would change in time if she lived that long. Galvanth, what are you doing? S'raid demanded to know, and the Bronze nearly groaned. Already, it had started.

G'brel's attention had been too focused on S'kagi and the dragonets to notice the bronze at first, but her attention was quickly drawn toward the giant beast when the boulder went rolling. ... Is that bronze seriously attempting to sneak up on us? the teen wondered, half confused and half amused by the spectacle. And that was one of the Benden bronzes, wasn't it? How curious.
So it would seem, Lifth replied calmly, watching as the much much larger dragon approached. May you know me? Does one normally have to ask permission to greet their fellow? the young blue replied with a curious tilt of his head.
There have been some... tense circumstances as of late between our Weyr and their's, G'brel explained silently, having heard her dragon's inquiry. Although this one doesn't seem to be trying to cause any trouble, so best be polite. Even if he was a Benden bronze, the way he was practically cooing to the dragonets showed that he meant no harm.
Ah, I see. In that case, yes, you may know me. My name is Lifth, and this is Mine, G'brel. The older dragon may not have asked about the humans, but he wasn't about to totally leave His out of the conversation. Especially since she was the more chatty of the two of them to begin with. And you are very big. We will grow in time though.

"Is her name Ofelia?" He asked, he'd never met the girl, and made a note of it. The sound of something large moving was curious, but then it was a Weyr, there were plenty of large things around... The loud clatter was somewhat more unnerving, but it was probably, he assumed, another rider coming down to soak in the water... and then he spotted the bronze, creeping down to the lake shore. Unlike his partner he couldn't read the bronze's lack of aggressive intent, so he just looked like a massive, stalking hulk of wings, muscle and claws, especially compared to tiny Luvith, who looked up, and puffed up as though she could actually stand off with the huge dragon.
Only for now! Luvith challenged, standing up as tall as she could manage in the water, though this wasn't particularly tall at all... and completely ignoring the shocked look on S'kagi's face as the massive bronze emerged 'stealthily' to the lake side. I am LUVITH, and my partner is S'kagi!" She boasted, as her rider waded into the water after her, staring at the huge dragon warily.

My rider does not wish me to greet young dragons, but I am here all the same. Your riders are suitable, he informed the dragonets, and that was truly the best compliment he could give them. I am Bronze Galvanth, and S'raid is my rider... but he is not here. Not yet, anyway. It was rather adorable how the Crimson was so quick to defend her height. He crooned again, attempting to convey to the wary young dragon that he meant no harm. Perhaps the rider would understand that as well?
It hadn't been so much a desire to sneak up on the hatchlings that had caused him to be stealthy, but the desire to not be seen approaching them. That way S'raid could not complain of it. ... Or so he hoped. Galvanth, this is nonsense. You should not be there. Apparently S'raid was fully capable of complaining anyway. The Bronze sighed. Yes, I am very big... but you have clutchmates who will be as big or nearly as big, he replied, attempting to put the young ones at ease.
He was clumsy at this, unused to addressing dragonets. But he had wanted to befriend them, to perhaps play with them. Would they like that? You are Luvith, and you are Lifth. Your riders are G'brel and S'kagi-- or was it S'kagi and G'brel? Give the children something to correct him on, so that they could be the ones in charge here. His eyes whirled more rapidly blue, and he settled down low to the ground, peering at the dragonets.

So you have snuck away from Yours? Lifth repeated, finding this mildly amusing for some reason. He wouldn't have expected that from a bronze. Well met, Galvanth. I am sure we shall met your S'raid in time. Such an odd dragon. And why did he keep crooning at them? Mine is G'brel. Hers is S'kagi. And apparently one with poor memory too. Quite the puzzle indeed.
G'brel nearly wanted to laugh as she listened to her dragon's half of the conversation. An independent bronze, eh? And apparently one who was quite fond of kids. She liked this dragon already. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Galvanth," the teen greeted with a small bow of her own, despite the fact that she and S'kagi were basically being utterly ignored in favor of their young partners.
Mossy, who had been watching quietly up to this point, decided now that she too wished to greet the giant one. Fluttering out of the water, the green flitter flew about the other's head, trilling and chirping her greetings to the foreign one.
And that... is Mossy. The blue wasn't entirely sure how fond he was of the troublesome flit, but she belonged to His, so it could not be helped.

You snuck away? Luvith's eyes whirled in surprise at this concept. It hadn't occurred to her (yet) to sneak away from S'kagi for any reason. "Why wouldn't you to greet others? She was equally baffled by this concept, and amused by the switch of their riders names. S'kagi is mine. I wouldn't have another. He came a long way to be here. He told me himself, and he needs me. She seemed equally pleased that he found their partners suitable, she certainly did.
S'kagi, still in awe of the arrival of the huge bronze, glanced at G'brel before imitating her gesture of respect toward the huge creature. He wasn't privy to all of the conversation, though he'd gathered that Galvanth for some reason wasn't here on the permission of his Rider. He wasn't quite sure how that would work out.

He thinks that I will frighten the Weyr by doing so, as I am of Benden, and you are of Trine. But that is very silly. You are dragonets, and I am a Bronze, and this is how we are meant to be. S'raid's concerns about the Benden dragons mingling with the new Trine dragonets seemed to be completely unfounded. Surely these weyrlings would not be upset by his presence? They did not seem to be. Yes, he will come... eventually. Galvanth concealed his amusement at the delight with which the dragonets seemed to greet his 'faulty memory'.
Staring down at the small human, he cocked his head to the side. It is a pleasure to meet you, G'brel, he said, not at all shy about revealing that not only did he remember her name but he was also quite willing to bespeak whomever he so chose. He had no qualms against it, when it suited him. And besides, S'raid was not here to speak for him to the other humans. These ones were all but hatchlings themselves, small and not at all like his S'raid.
Then the firelizard moved, and Galvanth drew his head back. What does she want? he asked the Blue warily, not at all certain of this strange new creature. He had only met firelizards a handful of times-- most of them did not care to come close to the hulking Bronze. She is very small. Smaller, in fact, than either of the dragonets. So, Crimsons were not in fact overlarge firelizards.
S'raid believes that I will frighten the Trine riders, he informed Luvith, who seemed so confused by his decision to sneak away. Was that confusion, or intrigue? Yes, S'kagi... that is the right name. How far did he come to be here? he inquired, lowering his head once more to regard S'kagi and Luvith. The young human seemed very overwhelmed now. How entirely odd. But both of them had displayed the proper greeting, and he approved of the respect that they showed him. It was due, after all.

Frighten us? I don not see why being from different places should cause any fuss. Lifth was too young and fresh out of the shell to know or understand any of the politics concerning the different Weyrs. A dragon was a dragon, right? And this one seemed friendly enough, even if just a bit odd.
G'brel was pleasantly surprised when the bronze decided to bespeak her. "I must say, you are quite personable. And daring." Given all that had transpired with that other bronze, the teen didn't think any of the Benden riders or dragons would even approach the people of Trine, given the increased about of ill-will toward the group. If anything though the Hatching seemed to have lifted the mood a bit, so perhaps the large male felt safer now in coming to check out some of the dragonets.
I believe she is simply trying to say hello, Lifth replied, watching with an almost bored expression as the green fluttered around overhead. Mossy, please do not pester Galvanth.
The firelizard chirruped in response and fluttered back down to the young blue instead. Landing first on the ground to grab a small bug she had spotted (Yum! Snack!), the flit then hopped up easily onto Lifth's back. Only problem was, with her having been wet the brief stop on the ground had created mud on her feet. Which were now on his back. ":3"
G'brel and Lifth were both silent for a moment as the green firelizard munched happily on bug. "..." Shard it, Mossy, I had just finished cleaning him!
... GetheroffgetheroffNOW. The blue made quite the fuss, hissing irritably at the disgusting little firelizard and snapping open his wings to scare her off his back. Mossy squeaked in surprise and blinked out of the area. ... Ugh. Mud. T^T He was not pleased.
