Far to the wilds west of the Battledome lie the remains of a ruined village. Still standing tall among the structures are the remains of the village's old cathedral, where the flames of candles still radiate into the sky during the night. It is here the old exorcist, Nyrk Saron resides.
What was once a great entrance door is now a beaten piece of wood, the intricate metalwork creaky and marred with rust. The cathedral lacks most of its roof, though a section remains, where Nyrk has set up his bed and where he keeps his paperwork. The altar is withered with the elements, but is still tended to out of reverence. Stained glass windows are riddled with shattered holes, a few intact, but many are missing entirely, the sounds of wildlife and weather singing through them.
In a basin upon the altar, Nyrk is washing his face.
(( This is a safe zone. Fighting is discouraged, but not disallowed. ))

"Greetings Exorcist." Casus sat at the doorway, a white duster decorating his feline body, and Nocturne resting gracefully upon his shoulder. His acute eyes glanced around the ruined cathedral, taking in the appearance of what he imagined to be a beautiful place. "Do you mind if I come in?" His paws had been resting in the dirt, he was a respectful creature, and was more than respectful to the exorcist.

The exorcist heard the visitor. "Not at all, come in," he said, walking to the old door, opening it to allow Casus inside. The exorcist's face was devoid of its usual markings.

"Thank you kindly." Casus entered, Nocturne fading into a wispy fur that receded into his paw. He noticed the exorcist's face was visible, something he had never truly noticed before. "Is this your residence?" Casus gazed upon the interior, "Do you need help cleaning it up?"

"You could call it that now," Nyrk said, looking it over again. He was silent for a minute, until he realized Casus had asked him a question. "...Oh! Help? Ah... I don't know, Maybe just moving a bit of the rubble out of the way. Not much we can do about the dirt, it'll just find a way back here." He looked at the cracking walls and frowned. "But leave the vines alone. They add a little color, I suppose." Nyrk walked to the basin, removing his gloves to rinse them and splashing his face one more time, then put on his gloves again. He began picking up the rubble: stone, wood, and bits of glass.

Casus nodded and began to shift, his feline body began to become taller and his cat-like features began to shift into more human features. His skin remained black as his fur, his duster shifting to fit his new form, and clothes appearing to cover his flesh. "I think I'm more fitted to help you now." It was quite odd to be in a "human" body, but it was something Casus needed to practice. He took a few steps, his boots picking up small whiffs of dirt. He moved to where Nyrk was and began to assist him, red eyes glanced at the exorcist, "So how long have you been here"

"I've only just been in here overnight," he responded, piling a few more pieces of rubble in his arms. "I stumbled across this old place a few months ago, but decided it was as nice a place to leave to as any." He paused for a moment. "...Well, that, and there's some old religious documents in the cellar I found. Enough to keep me occupied until..."

"Until what?" Casus' curiosity was getting the better of him, "What kind of documents?" He said his eyes narrowing slightly, as he continued to move rubble away.

"Until I'm spent. I don't have a whole lot left in me, Casus, and I think I'll have to spend what's left here. The documents are hardly important. Really just a distraction to keep me occupied until I finally meet my uh... old employer." Nyrk cleared his throat. He stepped outside for a minute, dropping his pile of rubble somewhere out of the way before coming back inside to continue clearing out a few more pieces of rubble.

Visher stood close to the building but not to almost lean on it, afterall it might crumble under his weight. "This 'old employer' of your's would'nt happen to be coming here anytime soon?" A voice shot out from one of the many holes in the building.

"You meant say you are dying?" Casus had continued to work, his concern was high of course, but there was no point in ceasing the work he had offered to help with. "Is this age or has your contract with your 'employer' come to an end." He dropped his pile outside and straightened his coat, he walked back inside and stood folding his arms, "So Mr.Saron, have you told anyone else?" He heard the voice of another man, and raised an eyebrow, had he still had his ears, they might've twitched.

"Contracts over this sort of thing are the workings of the devil. Nay, I signed no contract; God has given me the rest of my time to spend as I may," came the response to the first question. "Other than that, yes, it seems I'll be going."
Nyrk was about to answer the second when a third man's voice came through the cracks and holes in the wall. "Visher? ...I don't think he would, no. I've got some time left, I suppose. There's just not a lot I can do with it."

Visher stepped into slight view by a large crack in the wall and placed his hand on the wall, a small floating sentry bot followed. "I see.. I knew time would come for another. Nyrk, if there is anything I can do tell me and remember you have a Nation backing you up along with many other's."
Visher turned to face the sentry, A few seconds later it flew into the air and was gone. "I didn't mean interrupt by the way."

"Thank you, Visher, I appreciate the sentiment." Nyrk nodded, smiling gratefully. "There's little left to be done, certainly nothing that needs a nation..." He cleared his throat, resuming his job of picking up the last bits of debris.
"You know, you really ought not to worry so much. It isn't like I'm on my deathbed or anything, or even as if I'm leaving you all. I've just gotten too rusty, and I need my rest." Nyrk sighed, as he does when he admits this. "I'll still be here, and around," he nods.

Nathaniel waited in the cathedral his former tutor lived in. He had been taught here, and he would remain the keeper of the grounds, lest the cathedral fall into too far a state of disrepair; though it reminded him of his tutor's death, he would not let the masterpiece crumble away.
However, now was not the time for introspection. Here, Nathaniel waited patiently for a duel; he had only ever fought Nyrk, and his schooling was far from over, in regard to combat. He prepared his smallsword; a short, bladed ritualistic weapon suitable for combat and sturdy enough for a swordfight. Also in the exorcist's arsenal was his cloak and coffin, the former he used for deceptive attacks, and the latter he used because his tutor had taught him proficiency in the use of back-mounted weights.
