Sonnet made his way home from one of his practice sessions, he was always wandering off alone to practice his flying. He was going to get better and be the best flyer. His chest puffing a little as he got that determined gleam in his eye again. And he was smiling as today had been an interruption free practice. Akuba had been debating weather to tell his Son about the other side of the family, the ones who had brought him more pain that he said they were worth. A dream was not a dream if they were there, he was quite ashamed of how his first Son had grown up to be. They occupied his thoughts most often, but he knew that he'd have to tell him when he was old enough. Sonnet had grown so quickly too fast for him to keep up, but now he was at this age Akuba knew he'd have more understanding...possibly. Akuba knew around this time everyday his son had always practised his flight, sometimes even for hours. His eyes scanned every tree and the air and gaps between them.Running along, occasionally jumping and gliding a short distance before running some more. Smiling and humming a tune his friend Ivory had taught him. Yelling out when he spies his dad. "Hi Dad!!" Akuba sharply turned to the cheerful sound of sonny's call, he smiled,"Hello. Well I've been thinking and I think you're at a very important age", he hesitated for a second,"I have something to tell you about this family if you'd like to take a short break and walk with me?"Sonnet looked up at his dad and nodded, he always had time for him. "Sure Dad... Whats up that has you so serious?" Not used to seeing this expression on his dads face. Akuba chuckled and sighed,"I'm not being too serious am I?" A smile slipped back onto his face momentarily,"Stripe has been around a lot longer than you and Symphony so she already knows this. I want to tell you about the rest of the family...relatives you've never met before."Sonnet grinned seeing his Dad smile, it was just habit same with his sisters, when they were happy he was. His smile slipping though when the words sunk in. "Rest of the family?" Akuba had stopped walking when sonnet repeated a small part of his sentence,"yes. The rest of the family. Haven't you ever wondered where Stripe Came from?" He nuzzled his son,"this maybe a lot to take in."Sonnet went a more pinkish purple as he blushed, in truth he had never really wondered about stripe, just assumed she had the same absent mother as him. "Its ok Dad, I wanna know." Tilting his head this one of the rare occasions where he was going to act older than his years. Akuba nodded,"The last time your mother and I spoke was before she left. I had you and Symphonny and she,"he cleared his throat,"she took your brother. You've grown up with Sy knowing of only you and her. But there was a third sibling, sadly I never even got his name." Akuba looked disheartened.Sonnet looked surprised at this. "My mother left taking one of us with her?" This shocking him, having just assumed that he and Sym were twins and that was why they were so close. "Why did she do that? Leave I mean?" Akuba looked at his son with sorrow in his eyes,"she did. It just didn't work out, Only until after she had children had she realised that it's just not what she wanted and I couldn't stop her. I had you two though and that's all I needed." Akuba shook his head with a grin. Sonnet's ears flattened, the little wings on his head dr ping a little. "So she didn't want Sym and me..." Actually feeling a little hurt, though more for his sister. But pushing the thought away, they had Dad, and as far as Sonnet was concerned his dad was the best. Akuba flicked his mane back as it was impairing his sigh,"no , no, Sonnet she did want you and Sym. Maybe I was selfish to keep you both, but I wanted you to have an honest life, from what I had herd it wasn't best on her end of life,"the truth was harsh and maybe a little shocking but Akuba couldn't keep it from his children,"I've done my best to love you and your sister." Akuba sighed sadly, he hoped his next statement Sonnet wouldn't take in a bad way because he was telling the truth.Tilting his head Sonnet looked confused. "An honest life?" Having all kinds of images of his mother being some kind of master criminal now. "You are the best dad, you love us all enough for 2 parents, I'm glad you kept me." Smiling up at his dad with that. Akuba nodded,"I wanted to give you protection, but also freedom,"Akuba smiled back,"thank you. Now Sonnet I'm not toying you. Your mother wasn't a horrible person she had responsibilities too. It was by chance I met her actually. She was a princess. She'd never let me go with her," he shook his head," I'm not part of the posh mob." He chuckled, but in the back of his mind he knew of what her families reaction would be, he wondered how his other son was getting on, living as a servant, in riches possibly or kicked out of the picture.Sonnet stumbling at that. "Princess..." His voice going a bit squeaky at that, knowing about princesses from the stories that Aunt Keii would tell them. "Like in the stories Princess?" His eyes wide and more than a little dazed. Akuba nosed at him to keep him from falling over in shock,"yes like in the Stories. Some are still real although it's rare. She gave you in a sense all she had, her wings, her horn, her hair. Although I'm not in contact any more I'm sure she thinks about you." Akuba smiled down to his son trying not to off load everything at once, he eased out the nicer stuff first.Sonnet looked up at his dad and smiles. "You think she does?" Having always assumed that the wings were something to do with his mother, but it had never bothered him much. "Is that why I'm not stripy?" This probably not the question he should be asking but it was what he wanted to know. Akuba looked into his son's eyes,"I do",he'd realised that his son hadn't started making assumptions and asking questions as he predicted but it was all coming out now,"the only thing you don't have is her eyes. You have mine. The reason why you didn't inherit my stripes was down to chance. You could've had stripes but you could've had another part of you different. It doesn't matter weather you do or don't have stripes, I will always be proud of you." Akuba was glad his son did ask questions, it showed his inquisitiveness and that it was something that wouldn't go over his head. Grinning brightly and trotting round a little. "But I look like you too Dad, my wings and hooves match your hair, and my colouring is kind of the same." Looking down at himself, thinking he would grow his hair long to look like his dad too. Akuba tilted his head a little," that's true and that's special I've not really seen wings matching hair before. Well...through inheritance. You do look like me too though. A handsome mix I'd say." Akuba thought of the beads their mother had left behind for them, those would be his gift to them at adulthood, at least they'd have one of her possessions, he circled him with a brow raised,"but there's more. The other side to the story."Sonnet got the feeling this wasn't such a g d thing. "Is this about where Stripe comes from?" Walking closer and nuzzling his dad, wanting to reassure him that it was all ok. Akuba nodded with a stern reply,"it is. You may interpret this how ever you would like." There was so much to say but he wanted to cut it down, be direct but soft around the edges, but this would probably prove to be a hard task,"Stripe is in fact you half sister. Her mother isn't the same person as yours. Stripe has an older brother and sister, which would be an older half brother and sister to you."Sonnet stands quiet while taking this in, not seeing a problem with that. Sure stripe was a little nuts at times but she was fun and nice too. Shrugging and looking up. "She's my sister, half or otherwise..." This seeming to make no difference to him. Akuba dug a little crater in the ground with one hoof,"the mother of stripe...Niele and Your brother Accalon...who we call 'Calon for short...wanted to see you. Both were angry at me when they had herd the news of you and your sister being born. But...I wouldn't let them. I don't know whether it was me being selfish again, or just that fatherly instinct. I couldn't risk any harm." Akuba shrugged and looked at the hole he had dug,"if the risk wasn't so high maybe I would've, but the were angry and I didn't want any of their rage to get to you and your sister."Sonnet actually looks shaken at this and looks up at his dad. "Why were they so angry as to want to hurt some little babies?" That really staggering him, not able to think of anything that would make him want to hurt a foal. Akuba shot a sorry look at him,"I was just hoping they wouldn't. It's a precaution. They were angry at me not you. Since then then have calmed down. I am still in contact with them, just not your older half sister Charly, she has gone missing." Akuba hated how Charly had up and left but that's what some soquili did when they grew up, it was strange for her to leave 'Calon behind as they were so close as foals. Sonnet actually looked mad, his eyes narrowing. "I'd have bit them so hard if they laid so much as a hair on Sym! I'd have chomped a h f off them." Stomping one of his small feet, not liking the sound of these others. Akuba laughed,"yes they gave me grief. To be honest I was never close to 'Calon. I don't understand why he was angry, he treats me like a stranger and doesn't even call me dad. I had a second chance and I took it", he shrugged,"no injuries, no drama. For that side of the family I have done mad things, most often getting them out of trouble even if it hurt me." Akuba flicked his long tail trailing behind him as he began to pace a little thinking every though over twice.Sonnet stick his nose up in the air a little, not a cruel colt as a rule but these 2 he definatly didn't like the sound of. "Why? They sound more like they need to be kicked off a cliff and land on their stupid heads... Stop helping them, Sym would be so upset if you came home hurt, and I'd have to go and stomp their stupid heads in..." Stomping around a little now even more determind to protect 'his' family, especially if some weirdo branch was going to threaten it from within.

Had to post my last reply when my internet cut out. (Sorry)
Sonnet's reply certainly did shock him,"I'm not letting myself get badly injured anymore, they're all old enough to look after themselves." Akuba ruffled his hair and chuckled,"I'm sure you'd do a fine job, but I'm not getting injured anymore." He loved Sonnet, Symphony and Stripe more than anything in the world and nothing could change it.

Sonnet stopped stomping around and looked up at his dad. "You better not be getting hurt any more, at all!" His young face set in a determined and stubborn scowl, he wasn't going to let these.. These 'others' hurt his dad any more. "If they do anything again you tell me and I'll stomp them!" Giving a little snort before stomping a little more and calming down. Walking over to Aku and nuzzling his side a little. "You have us Dad, you don't need to worry about them any more." Looking up at him and smiling, the little wings on his head wiggling. "Besides we are happy right? I mean I am, Sym is, Stripes a little nuts anyway but she seems happy too... I think your a great dad and if they are angry then its because they don't deserve to have you." His expression openly adoring, he loved his dad and though he probably didn't say it enough he was sure Aku knew that.

Akuba laughed gruffly,"what a big old stallion like me? They can take care of themselves!" He huffed and watched his son stomp, he nodded,"we are happy", Akuba laughed,"Stripe does have her wobbles but she is happy. Don't let her hear that or else she will be chasing you around the teepee, it upset her." He nudges his son with a smile,"they don't have me. People have to earn my love",even more so after two mares he thought he had a chance of 'a happily ever after' with, but he's only a dreamer and a romantic, even Akuba knew that it wasn't likely to change any time soon, although his view on romance and love was now bitter and would push away anyone trying to peruse it.
"None of us are hurt, none of us are sad, it's how families should be. I allow freedom of expression, although you never see me cry, it is more manly to be able to cry than to bottle it up and hurt." His stomach rumbled, Akuba nipped at the grass by his hooves grazing a little,"I won't let them get to you. but is you ever cross paths...or meet,"Akuba shook his head and sighed,"I don't know what these people are thinking. One minute they're angered then next they want to see you. Your half brother Calon was quite shocked to find out about you, he'd only creeped round and seen Sy, I should've kept you both a secret maybe, but that'd only make me seem ashamed, but as a matter of fact I am not. I am more proud than I ever will be."
His first children almost put him off family life all together, but his second experience roved to be much better. Akuba hadn't noticed anything strange about his two children.
Akuba laughed,"my advice to you is be careful with fillies and mares, treat them like queens, but be careful."

Sonnet looked at his dad and nods. "I wouldn't know what they would look like anyway, I mean other than Stripe being a little more pink with black hair she looks like you." Wondering if they would ever come looking for him or Sym... Frowning hoping they leave Sym alone, he would be so mad if they hurt or upset Sym. He would have to keep a better eye on Sym, make sure no strangers cam and bugged her, especially not before dad got a chance to talk to her. "Are you going to tell Sym all this stuff too?" Looking up at his dad not wanting to keep secrets from his sister.
Smiling though when his dad had said he was proud of them. "Its ok dad, if they decide to turn up I'll deal with it, as long as they leave Sym alone and don't hurt or upset her it will be ok." Quite happy to deal with any trouble if they decide to cause some. Tilting his head as a thought occurred to him. "Dad... Is there more that they want? I mean is there a reason they are mad or something?" Wondering if there was more to it, not understanding why they would be like this at all, it just seemed strange to him.
Looking embarrassed when Aku said about mares, but nodding as he shuffles his feet. "Queens ok I'll remember that..." Mumbling totally bemused by the comment.

Akuba looked stedfast toward his son,"of course I will. Just thought first it'd be better to tell you, because I know that you can handle it better. I was going to tell you both together, but we can't always do everything in life together."
Akuba wouldn't keep secrets from any of his children this big, it was simply unfair. Niele and the others were saddened and outraged when Akuba dropped the bomb on them. Brian going almost rabid speaking of betrayal and try to destroy Akuba, surprisingly his son saying he was angry by he understood, and Niele weeping suicidally. A shipwrecked family sinking faster than it ever was. Akuba had found piece in his other children, and those were his main reasons from keeping them away. Stripe had always been excited, her other siblings didn't love her, but she thought that she could make these ones love her.
Akuba chuckled a little and shook his head,"well I'm not sure you might actually be able to tell. They do look like me here and there. I do have some photographs of them, but they do look a lot like their mother." Akuba looked down at his hooves.
"It's a long story. They have their reasons for rage and as do I", Akuba wanted to answer his sons questions but thinking about it all just disheartened him and dragged him down, he knew in time he would answer all or they'd find out everything for themselves, he just wanted it all to be fixed.
Akuba looked at his son and laughed,"I'm kidding. You should be equals, and you should make decisions together", he nudged his son's side,"don't worry about it."

Sonnet nods and offers a smile. "Its ok dad, I'll look after you and Sym and Stripe, and if they ever turn up and upset any of us I'll chase them off." Giving a sure nod, he wasn't going to ask any more questions, his dad seemed to have had enough of them, there was a sad look to him. So he turned around and looked around them. "I'm gonna go find some food for us all, and you can got get the water." His tone cheery as he looked up at his dad, not quite big enough yet to carry the large bucket for the family water but he was growing fast. But by saying about their chores he was pretty much ending the questions and the personal conversation. (I figure we can now move onto the other talk they have when Sonnets older.)

Akba nodded with a smile,"okay. That sounds a great plan." He smiled and turned away and off to go about the job.
-------------------------------------------------
Akuba had cleared out old hay from the teepee, he was now working harder than ever for extra people staying, he had recently extended his teepee further because everyone had grown so big and that meant more chores and harder work, but it gave him something to do. No-one was in and once he'd finished the job he decided to have a lie down whilst he could. All he needed was a little peace. It's the only thing he needed to clear his mind. It had been many months since he had last seen that mare called Niele. Instead he had been responsible and stayed with his children, and in turn he had gotten better.

I am assuming that this i the continuation of this rp, another conversation when Sonnet is older. Sonnet had returned home with Sym, and having spent some time making sure they had not been followed, and then more time with Sym, she had been rather upset by the meeting. So he had stayed with her till she was feeling better and smiling again. Only then had he ventured out to find his father. He had been smiling for Sym but when he was alone his smile faded to a sever line, not quite scowling but he definitely had a frown going, he was not happy and it showed. Even as he walked he was tense and stiff, the encounter had stressed him out, seeing his sister upset had stressed him out more. Those fools had just kept on at her, ignoring him. Stopping as lets out an angry yell, stomping his hooves trying to calm himself down.

Akuba stood in the forest alone bunching fire wood. He exhaled. Akuba had felt better left to his own devices although he missed the old company of friends like Keii, he enjoyed his children being around and watching them grow, now they were nearer the age of adulthood he had to let them sort things out for themselves and do their own thing.
Silence followed and now it was the only thing he knew, his life was now quiet and without drama haunting him from the past. Still he had to watch around for any creeping appearances. He flicked his long tail and hauled as much as he could strung in string.

Sonnet carried on stomping along, letting out his bad mood where his sweet sister wouldn't see. A definite glower on his face now, not really looking where he was going, though he was following the path mostly. Not noticing his father coming up not too far away. It would probably be a bit of a shock for the older male to see his usually sweet tempered and fun loving son in such a bad mood, but at least he was trying to get it out of his system.

Sonnet soon came within his viewing range, and not a happy Sonnet either. He hadn't really ever seen him this enraged before, Akuba dropped his strung up firewood quickly and headed in his direction looking confused. "Sonnet what's wrong?"
He wondered what could possibly make him this angry since he wasn't usually the angry sort. Had drama creeped up on him again or was it adolescent angst? No. Sonnet didn't seem the dramatic type. Akuba stopped in his tracks. "Tell me what's wrong."

Sonnet stopped stomping and glared at his father, for a brief moment he blamed his father for what had happened, after all the ride ignorant pair had been looking for him. Though a split second later the accusation was gone and in its place was just a general grumpy glare. It was unfair to blame his father, he had been hurt most of all by all this. Giving a few more good stomps and glaring at his hooves a little more before he felt calm enough to explain.
"Sym and I met Stripes.... Incubator..." Not even using the word mother, she had not seemed the motherly type besides stripe never spoke of her that he herd so she ant have been a good mother. Much like his own it seemed. "And her son." Not knowing that she had two sons but the fact that he could tell they were related should give away which of the sons he was talking about. His foul mood should also say that things went badly.

Akuba could only see what seemed to be close to hatred, but it wasn't for him surely it must've been for something fouler. Akuba's brow furrowed as he tried to search for the answer himself before Sonnet replied himself.
"Incubator?" He repeated the word like a foal learning to talk, but he instantly knew og what he was talking about and no further explination was needed,"...her...", he sighed,"I knew she'd catch up some time, it was only a matter of time." He began to blame himself in his head. 'If I could only turn back time, but it's too late for anything now. Honesty is all I can give.' He looked at his son instantly flicking his ears pinned forward,"I'm sorry you had to endure that. What did she do? Did she touch any of you?" Akuba was almost ready to hunt her down himself and cause upset to her fatherless children, just as She had done to his own.
