"Wow... Tall trees..." Azrael muttered, wandering into the park that was allowing guests to tour around the huge trees for free. The park hosted the tallest species of tree found in the entire world. Which meant to a kid like himself, they were even TALLER in comparison. It was too bad the branches were well out of reach, otherwise he would've been far higher up.
Then again, so would a good deal of people so perhaps it was a good idea. Either way he was still stuck on the ground with his semi-useless wings and slight boredom.
What he needed was an accomplice of sorts...

Loki had never seen trees so huge. His head was back, his eyes staring straight up. "Wow," he muttered. "These trees must be older than Dad, even." The trees seemed to be several thousand years old (in his opinion), had they been there since the dinosaurs? How old were they exactly? His mother had once told him you could tell a tree's age by counting it's rings--and somehow he doubted anyone would be cutting down these trees.
In that moment, Loki decided he was glad he wasn't a bird. Heights frightened him. As he tore his attention from the sky, and his failed attempts to see the tops of the trees, he spotted Azrael. He remembered him! The kid who'd gone on the treasure hunt with him.
"Hey," he greeted the purple-skinned boy. "Sup man?"

Azrael blinked at the familiar voice, tail flicking lightly back and forth as he turned to face the other boy. Yeah, now he remembered Loki from that really random treasure hunt he had been forced to be in.
"Yo. Not much, just wandering around. You?" he replied with a grin. It had been a while since seeing the kid, and it seemed like he had also grown, based on how they were fairly similar in height. Unless he didn't grow as much in that direction as he had thought...

"Oh, same," Loki said with a nod. "I've never seen trees so tall, have you?" he asked, his attention briefly going back to the sky--or what he could see of it. He wondered how old the trees really were--maybe someone in the park knew. His eyes snapped back onto Azrael, and he gave the boy a smile. "You've grown," he mused aloud. "When?"
With less concentration than a goldfish, he asked, "Do you want to explore the park with me? We could hang out, and afterward, maybe go to the arcade?"

Azrael shook his head, glancing up to admire the trees again. As he did, one of Ary's stories of magical forests where the trees were tall only because of the creatures that resided within them. He still wasn't sure whether her stories were just that, stories to shut them up for a bit, or if they were actual memories. She didn't look that old though...
"Huh? Oh, sorry. Yeah, I did. Just a few days ago, actually. What about you? I remember you being my height when we last met," Azrael replied with a slight smile at the memory.
"Well I suppose we could explore together, so sure," he added, trying hard to resist showing his absolute excitement at the word explore. Cookies, granting wishes for steep prices, and exploring had to be his favorite three things and not entirely in that order.

"I don't remember when I grew," Loki mused, frowning in thought. Weird, he had never had memory trouble before. "Last thing I really remember was Easter egg painting and stuff, with Milo. You know, my brother," he added. "Maybe I was asleep or something... I just remember being like this one day." The fae looked genuinely puzzled for a moment before smiling and nodding at his friend.
"Let's explore," he agreed. Who knew what wonders they would find in the park? Maybe some kind of animal, or a treasure. Maybe a pirate had hidden something here long ago, before the trees had grown in. "Whatever we find we split?" he asked, looking towards Azrael.

Azrael tiled his head curiously. That was strange and by strange he meant really weird. Who just had memory gaps like that with no recollection as to why?
The boy nodded and grinned. "Sure. Who knows what could be hidden in here," he replied, gazing around at the monstrous trees. It was perfect! There had to be hundreds of hiding spots for treasure or various artifacts of unknown origin. Just thinking about the adventure they'd have was enough to get the demon excited.
"Let's go. These items aren't going to find themselves yanno."

Personally, Loki would have agreed, though as he didn't remember it, it didn't strike him as that strange. "Yeah," he agreed with a smile. Who knew what would be out there? Some great and marvelous treasure to behold? There was only one way to find out.
"Let's not split up," Loki mused. "It's too easy to get lost in all these trees." He moved a few feet ahead of Azrael and paused to look over his shoulder at him. "You coming?"

Azrael nodded, agreeing with Loki on the fact that it would be incredibly easy to get lost amongst the trees. They weren't like tombstones and could be looked over or around with ease. Not to mention they essentially all looked the same to the point of being eerie.
"What? Oh, yeah," the demon replied, moving quickly to close the small gap between them. "Hm, you wanna try someplace close to rocks and see if there's a cave or something?" he asked, trying to see farther into the forest but to no avail. All he could see for about thirty feet was, you guessed it, trees.

"I don't see any rocks," Loki mused, looking around. In all directions, except for the way he had come, there were trees as far as his eyes could see. "Let's find some though. There's bound to be treasure hidden in caves." And where caves were, there were bound to be rocks and all kinds of awesome creatures. Maybe he could take one home. A critter, that was.
"Where do you want to look first?" he asked. "We could go right, or left," he added as an after thought. "Not straight though, that's predictable."

Azrael frowned, realizing that there was indeed nothing that resembled a rock. Well, anything larger than a pebble anyways. Those could have been brought in by the other people that roamed around the trees in awe and were, essentially, pointless to follow. "How about left?" he offered, glancing off to the right and then to the left. The demon was pretty sure the highway was all that resided to the right, so there was really no point going that direction.

"Left sounds good," Loki agreed with a smile. Somehow being in the woods made him lose his sense of direction. And he promptly started to go right, before he realized something. "...I'm going the wrong way," he muttered, before turning to head in the opposite direction. "I see why people get lost in the woods now," he added.
He made sure to look between tree trunks, in bushes, anywhere pirates might have hidden their treasure. "I haven't seen any caves yet," he observed.

Azrael laughed, perched on top of a large root that had snuck out of the ground from a very large tree. "But I'm used to them, so unlike you it doesn't confuse me quite as much. Caves are far into forests too, if I remember right," he replied, leaping down and maneuvering skilfully around the huge trees and occasional root or branch.
"Up ahead! You see that?" he asked suddenly, pausing in his tracks. Orange eyes scanned the trunks, waiting for that speck of movement to reappear to no avail. "Come on! I'm SURE we're close now!" he called out, suddenly speeding ahead after where he had seen that subtle change in scenery that signified movement.
