Wandering around seemed to be the only thing Latifu did anymore. She just found something so fascinating about searching the lands, seeing what she could find. That is, until her mother made her come home.

Today, she had begged to stay out for a little while longer; an odd thing for Lati to do, but she had a feeling that something would be worth it today. So, after making promises to return, she bounded out, keeping her orange eyes wide open in case she saw anything. The only problem was, that by this point in the day, Latifu was beginning to lose hope. Nothing had crossed her path, and the only things she had seen was a small herd of elephants that she had made sure to steer clear of.

Slowing to a walk, she stared at her paws as they brushed through the grass. She was disappointed, to say the least, and as tired as a cub could be after coming so far. Taking in a deep breath, she stopped next to a tree, curling her tail around the trunk as she leaned most of her weight against it.

Khuluma had been flying a long time and he felt assured he was a master. That was, to his great misfortune, when a strong jet stream proved that he had a lot to learn still. Eve at his age, he was finding himself in a great amount of trouble to make the winds work in his favor and soon he was pulling away and not at the speed he would have liked. In a desperate move, he aimed for a tree for his landing not realizing that this one would not be willing to catch him as nicely as most other trees. Maybe it knew that a falling god would hurt and probably break one of its branches. When he fell through, he reached out with small claws to grab any free limb he could find. The branches stuck to his wings, raking through his feathers and making a mess of his long mane.
He hit his back, his side, and on the third heavy limb, managed to grab on for dear life and hold on tight. With back legs dangling and the other front holding on with dug-in claws into the branch of the tree. "I'm going to beat that buzzard for telling me to go this way. Never take traveling advice from a bird. Never. Never.Never.Never…" If Latifu was looking for evidence that today would be worth wandering out for, then that thing was currently showering little sticks and leaves over her head.

Flicking her ears to the side as small flecks first hit her, Latifu jumped to the side as larger sticks started to fall from above her. Shaking them desperately out of her mane, she looked up to try and see what it was that kept dropping debris down on her head. Orange eyes squinted, they soon enlarged as they saw the winged creature that was grappling onto a tree branch. It was yellow, kind of like her mother, and had long hair like hers. But she knew very well he was no lion like she was- for one thing, he had wings.

"Did you fall from the sky?" Calling up in her soft voice, Latifu had always thought that if a magical creature fell from the sky, then they must be a wish maker. After all, that's what falling stars did, right?

In the mist of crash landing and trying to untangle his wing from a tree branch, he hadn't considered that someone might be around. He was too busy cursing the bird for pointing him in this direction, the jet stream that was too strong that it threw him down here, and the tree that just WOULD NOT let go of his beautiful wing. It was while pulling his wing that he heard her, and looking about - something that was difficult when you were upside down - he noticed the orange and white lioness. He froze in place, blinking a few times to be sure he was seeing a mortal, and gave a rather nervous, awkward smile. Oh shoot. So much for keeping his cover.

"Yes. ....I did?"

There was a long "cccccrrrreeeeaaaakkkk" and just like that, the tree branch snapped from under him. He hit the ground on his back and winced, before curling his paws around the back of his head. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!" Once he let the pain pass, he relaxed and remained laying there on his back. Bits of leaves and sticks were in his hair and wings, and he looked out - still upside down mind you - at the lioness.

Well, this was awkward. So much for a good impression of a amazing god.

Watching the yellow god carefully, Latifu couldn't help but giggle a little. It wasn't every day that you saw a god literally fall from the sky- maybe it was a good omen? Who knows, but Latifu saw it as a very lucky event, if only for herself.

"I'm...Latifu." Pausing to hold back a small laugh, she thought that this awkward moment would be best filled with introductions. "If you have wings, then how did you fall from the sky? Are they broken?" Knowing nothing about wind patterns, it just didn't make sense to Latifu that someone who has wings wouldn't always be able to fly.

With a heave, he rolled over and shook off, sending what leaves and twigs that weren't stuck falling off. He was still very embarrassed that he had fallen before an audience, but now there was no helping it. He wasn't the God of Time after all and had no ability to change what already had happened. He's just have to keep his poise and work through his little accident.

Very cautiously, he stretched out his wings to their full length and tested them with a few flaps. "Still good. They're not broken at all, though they are a bit dirty now." He brought a wing over and pulled out a twig. Dusting himself off, he sat down and started on the process of removing sticks from his mane and wings. "The wind river was too strong. I was traveling on it and it got rough. That's when I lost control and tumbled down. Haven't you ever been knocked over by a strong wind?" He pulled out a twig from his bangs and noticed a beetle was still on it. "Ah!" He threw the stick away from him in a way that was far from masculine. Icky bugs. To think THAT was in his hair.

"My name is Khuluma." He didn't add on that he was a god just in case she hadn't figured that out yet.

"The wind river? Sounds rather...magical." Smiling at him, she pictured a clear river in the sky, with sparkles and fireflies. She knew it probably wasn't what the real thing was like, but as long as she remained flightless, she'd keep her own idea of what it was in her mind.

"I haven't. But I'm usually no where near a strong wind." Giggling a little, she tried to picture such a thing- with a small body like hers, a small wind would probably come and pick her up, taking her far away. At least, that's what Latifu thought. It almost didn't seem half bad, being up in the air and traveling to a new place.

"Khuluma?" It sounded...foreign? In an odd sense. Or maybe it was just that Latifu had never heard a name like it before that made her think it odd.

"Magical? It's nice when it's being gentle, but scary when it tumbles you about." He took his claws, gently combing his hair, doing his best to make it nice and manageable again. "..but that's what you get with flying." He guessed he was speaking to the wrong creature about this. While birds might get him, they didn't speak his tongue, and random lions like this - well, they didn't have the ability. It really was a shame, but if everyone could fly, his own ability wouldn't be that special.

"Khuluma is just a name. I don't know if it's odd or not. I just knew it was my name when I came to be and that is all so I cannot ask someone else if it had an origin. I happen to think it's very dashing. Don't you?" He smiled at her, before getting to his feet, brushing the hair over his shoulder.

"You're pretty calm for meeting a god. Do you see plenty of them or do I not impress you?" He hoped he wasn't boring. How could he be when he looked and spoke was beautifully as he did.

Staring at him for a few moments, Latifu found herself lost in his massive mane. "Sounds more challenging than it looks." Holding her gaze for a few moments, her eyes flicked over to look at him.

"So no one named you? That sounds...interesting." Smiling, she thought about the concept for a moment. It seemed liberating, not having someone else telling you who you were, but sad at the same time. He didn't have parents, did he? That seemed a tad lonely. But if he just 'appeared' knowing everything about how to live and survive, than that's all he really needed, then.

"I suppose it is." Grinning, she had to keep herself from giggling a little as he looked over at her. She liked his confidence, it was really a desirable trait.

Smirking at his next statement, she did seem to see a lot of Gods. "They seem to be attracted to me. It's like, around every corner, I see one." Smiling at him triumphantly, she didn't want to seem unimpressed, though. "But don't think I'm not impressed by you. I've never met a God with as pretty hair as you, for one."

He had to wonder just how many gods and goddesses she had met. It had always been his impression that mortals rarely saw gods, but if she was seeing one pop up in every corner, maybe he was - gasp - not as special. He really didn't want to be a commonplace occurrence for mortals. Even though he worried that mortals would gasp or be afraid of him, he didn't want them to not take him showing up as something boring and not worth batting a eye at. It really did a number on his ego.

"Thank you. I manage. I do like your colors. Very bright, like drops of fruit on snow and gold is a personal favorite of mine. You've also done something wonderful with your hair." He admired her braid a moment, wondering if he should do SOMETHING about his hair.

"Well, I hope that I rank up high on your list of gods you have met. I've met plenty and knew a few that are not worth visiting." Thunder for one. Arts was not worth the time either. "Well, despite having no meaning to my name, does Latifu mean something? Maybe it means "charming" or "magnetic" as you seem to pull all sorts of us around you." Us as in other immortals. Maybe she was special.

"Why thank you! It's probably one of the few things that I can actually be proud of." Bouncing on her toes, the cub wasn't being all that modest; she wasn't overly intelligent, and after meeting so many gods, her small self seemed to really pale in comparison. "I think your hair would really look nice in a braid." Not that it looked bad now, but it might be a good change every once in a while. Being a young and rambunctious thing, Latifu really appreciated not having her hair flying everywhere.

"Oh, yes, I would have to say so." Thinking back, Latifu had only met one other immortal that was around her age; or at least seemed to be around her age. And then there were some that she almost wish she didn't come across. One was seeping lava, and didn't seem to be the nicest of things. Latifu was pretty much a gentle pacifist, so she liked gods that held beliefs that were similar to that. "And I like your....simplicity?" She wasn't sure what the exact word that she was looking for was, but it seemed to work alright.

Your text color is SUPER bright.

Khuluma paused in his preening to look at the mortal. "Simplicity? What do you mean?" He didn't like vague and delayed words, as it brought the hairs up on his back. Slips in words or not being sure of your own speech poked at his very realm, and he gritted his teeth over such an unsure description.

"You should be less hesitant when you speak. I'm a god. I'm nothing close to simple."

(( Ah, sorry sorry. D: I can darken it up a bit. ))

"I mean it more of you look classy." Pinching in one side of her mouth, she was starting to lose her nerve a bit. "I'm not all that smart, but I still always want to try and use the perfect word for any situation." Scratching at the ground, Latifu looked down for a moment. Her father, she knew, was all sorts of smart, but she only met him a few times. She was more musically inclined, like her mother's family. There was definitely no reason that someone couldn't have the best of both worlds, but this was just the way it was for Latifu.

"I've seen so many others where it just seems like their appearance is just too much. Almost like they try too hard. There's always just something amazing about things that are beautifully simplistic." She was referring to his outward appearance, more than anything. Judging from his words, he already seemed like a complicated young god psychologically, and Latifu worried whether or not she could keep up.

Thank you so much! OuO

It was not his intent to make her to become tense, but it was a personal offense when he felt someone slipping in their speech in his presence, and he wanted to make sure to correct it. It was his realm after all, and what sort of god would he be if he didn't enforce it?

Thinking her compliment over, he smiled and stood up, walking slowly around her. "The most beautiful things in life are simple. The rising sunrise across the Savannah. A full river after a heavy rain. The smallest flower in the most brilliant shades of red. True beauty stands on it's own. Everyone else just tries to imitate it." To which he took great pride in placing himself in the former category rather than the later.

Moving around her, he turned to pass in front of her. "What is a little mortal like you doing all on your own?"

(( Nooo problem~ ^^ ))

"Aaah." His words were so nice and pleasant on the ears; Latifu kind of wished that she could someday come up with something so wonderful and flowing. It really painted a nice picture in her mind, and it was just as she said, simply beautiful.

"I was just out looking around." She had a fairly free lifestyle; as long as she didn't wander too far. Sometimes she'd wander to try and find her father, aimlessly walking by. He did that sometimes, always with such a sad look on his face. She always wondered about it, but dared not say anything.

"Why are you out here all alone?" She paused a moment, keeping herself from asking any more immediately. She didn't really want to offend him, or bring up some kind of painful memory.
