I read this earlier today and had to log off. It is very upsetting. It is most literally a "Witch Hunt." The biggest problem is that they are not witches, giving true witches a bad name. It only causes hate, fear, and distrust. I can hardly bear to hear about it.
Come to think of it, I saw something on TV about this a while back. They were just slaughtering the children. Trying to cut out the evil inside of them. It is just disgusting. I almost forgot that this stuff was still going on.
I propose that we all set aside a time to pray for these children on the 25th. We should also try and raise awareness. It is amazing what a few dedicated voices can do. We can speak out, tell other Gaians about what is happening, make our best effort. I feel it will be worth it.
Victims and Torture Techniques:
Picture: The ANC-in-exile used traditional African witch-hunting methods in their camps to teach youths how to terrorise resistant township residents into submission to ANC-hegemony. On this photograph, youths at Camp Quatro in Angola were taught the traditional African witch's purgative powers of fire, i.e. the necklacing, placing a burning tyre around a victim's neck) of such a so-called 'cockroach'...Decapitation often is used.

Necklacing was frequently carried out in the name of the ANC. An example of necklacing was the case of a young girl Maki Skosana in July 1985: “Her body had been scorched by fire and some broken pieces of glass had been inserted into her v****a,” Moloko told the committee.
Necklacing refers to the practice of summary execution carried out by forcing a rubber tire (tyre), filled with gasoline, around a victim's chest and arms, and setting it on fire. The victim may take up to 20 minutes to die, suffering severe burns in the process. The first recorded lethal lynching by necklacing took place in Uitenhage on 23 March 1985 when African National Congress (ANC) supporters killed a councillor who was suspected of being a collaborator.
