Underlings's
Officer grades basically entail how many units and NPC units are officially under your command. As your rank increases, your unit cap increases exponentially. You can also officially command "Real" soldiers as well, so long as they are in your unit. Obviously, as the unit cap increases exponentially, each subsequent rank is considered more prestigious or harder to get, and is as well offered access to restricted or difficult to obtain information or technology. With a higher unit count, things such as "personal armies" or even entire aircraft carriers or battleship fleets become available, as you are endowed with more possibilities from having self controlled, passive/active NPC's operating the basic facilities necessary in order to operate such a large group. In certain instances, restrictions of the number of units will be imposed, or he use of extra units (armies, not "partners") will be forbidden. This of course requires all officers to responsible for both small and large unit tactics, and each officer will be expected to adapt to the situations their presented.
