Mkay. I'm starting fresh with a new deck (seeing as how a LOT of people hate Exodia decks). I bought a Duelists Toolbox starter deck. What're your opinions on thih structure deck and tips on how to improve it. razz Duelists Toolbox - YuGiOh Wiki

The Duelist Toolbox, or the 2010 Starter Deck, provides you with Junk Destroyer. That card is one of the ace cards used in the Quickdraw deck, and it makes the starter deck a great buy if you enjoy playing Quickdraw or a deck built similar to it.

Lol yea I like the synchro monsters it came with, and added a few cards to it (Spirit Reaper, MST, Nightmares Steel Cage, etc.) I just really need help with it because I've only won once with it (against a Gemini deck).

Here's what I suggest pushing towards: Jeff Jones (1st Place – Quickdraw Dandywarrior) http://www.konami.com/yugioh/blog/?p=2327#more-2327Monsters: 3x Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter 2x Caius the Shadow Monarch 2x Super-Nimble Mega Hamster 2x Debris Dragon 2x Quickdraw Synchron 2x Lonefire Blossom 2x Dandylion 1x Light and Darkness Dragon 1x Tytannial, Princess of Camellias 1x Sangan 1x Card Trooper 1x Morphing Jar 1x Night Assailant Spells: 3x Pot of Avarice 2x Book of Moon 1x Brain Control 1x Heavy Storm 1x Mystical Space Typhoon 1x Foolish Burial Traps: 2x Bottomless Trap Hole 2x Dust Tornado 2x Dimensional Prison 1x Mirror Force 1x Torrential Tribute 1x Solemn Judgment 1x Call of the Haunted 1x Starlight Road Extra Deck: 3x Stardust Dragon 2x Iron Chain Dragon 2x Drill Warrior 1x Red Dragon Archfiend 1x Nitro Warrior 1x Black Rose Dragon 1x Junk Archer 1x Ancient Fairy Dragon 1x Turbo Warrior 1x Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier 1x Ally of Justice Catastor It's generally easier to build than most other decks this format, and the Junk Destroyer goes into it. The list is a little dated due to releases in the last booster set, Shining Darkness, but it will be getting a good piece of support two sets from now in "Starstrike Blast" called "Tuning". Basically it's a Reinforcement of the Army for "Synchron" monsters. Or, get with x Mydia x and she'll give you a substantially cheap list for a deck named "Flamvell Cat".

No, not guard.
It focuses on the Firedog and Magician pieces of the Flamvell family. Firedog swings, gets Magpie, tunes for a lv8. Rekindling then give you access to lv8s on demand.
It also utilizes...
Here, a skeleton...
3 Flamvell Firedog 3 Flamvell Magician 3 Gravekeeper's Spy 1 Gravekeeper's Descendant 1 Summoner Monk 1 Rescue Cat 2 Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter 3 X-Saber Airbellum 2 Caius the Shadow Monarch
2 Rekindling 1 Brain Control 1 Mind Control 1 Cold Wave 2 Book of Moon 1 Heavy Storm 1 Giant Trunade
1 Torrential Tribute 2 Dimensional Prison 2 Bottomless Trap Hole 1 Solemn Judgment
3 Stardust Dragon 1 Red Dragon Archfiend 1 Thought Ruler Archfiend 1 Mist Wurm 1 Colossal Fighter 2 Arcanite Magician

Flamvell Synchro Cat, or "Flamecat" as you'll hear me call it, was pretty much the top deck of this format until TSHD came out.
Now, it may have problems with the Infernity and (more so) Saber matchup, but it can win out against them with proper Side Decking. It can also have a rough ride against Frog Monarchs in Game 1 (especially if they open good), but there's no reason you shouldn't win Game 2 and 3 with the assistance of, once again, proper Side Deck cards. The same can be said about the Herald matchup. Quickdraw is an awkward matchup for Flamecat. Not bad, just...really hit or miss. They both counteract each other very well, and which deck wins really comes down to who opens better and who the superior player is.
Flamecat is still really good though, and it absolutely shits on pretty much every other deck out there - Blackwings, Glads, Machina/Gadgets, the occasional Lightsworn, and everything rouge. One of the deck's most appealing factors, however, is that unlike other top decks, this one doesn't cost an arm and a leg to make. The Main Deck itself only costs around $30. The Extra Deck is a little more pricey, but it's not too bad. That combined with the fact that this deck doesn't take too long to get used to makes it an excellent choice for someone making a fresh start. Not to mention it's loads of fun to play. I also adamantly believe it will be a true top contender again come September 1st, so you may be looking at a good investment by building it.
The skeleton Joe posted is a decent start, but I'd definitely make some changes to it. Here's my list for reference. Not to brag (seriously, I'm not), but I've been told by several people on multiple occasions that mine is the best Flamecat build they've ever seen. This can be backed up too, by the fact that 3 of my friends, using either my exact build or ones based on it, have made 1st, 3rd and 8th place at recent Regional Qualifiers. I also have a personal record of less than 10 (I think it's 8, though I forget the exact number) losses all format with this deck since I made it in April.
Monsters [20]: [3] Flamvell Firedog [3] Flamvell Magician [3] Gravekeeper's Spy [3] X-Saber Airbellum [2] Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter [1] Gorz the Emissary of Darkness [1] Caius the Shadow Monarch [1] Gravekeeper's Descendant [1] Summoner Monk [1] Rescue Cat [1] Sangan
Spells [11]: [2] Rekindling [2] Pot of Avarice [2] Book of Moon [1] Brain Control [1] Mind Control [1] Mystical Space Typhoon [1] Heavy Storm [1] Cold Wave
Traps [11]: [3] Dimensional Prison [2] Bottomless Trap Hole [2] Dust Tornado [1] Mirror Force [1] Torrential Tribute [1] Trap Dustshoot [1] Solemn Judgment
Extra Deck [15]: [1] Magical Android [1] Ally of Justice Catastor [1] Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier [1] Goyo Guardian [2] Arcanite Magician [1] Black Rose Dragon [1] X-Saber Urbellum [2] Stardust Dragon [2] Colossal Fighter [1] Thought Ruler Archfiend [1] Red Dragon Archfiend [1] Mist Wurm
Side Deck [15]: [3] Consecrated Light [3] Thunder King Rai-Oh [2] D.D. Crow [3] Mask of Restrict [2] Crevice Into the Different Dimension [1] Mind Crush [1] Royal Oppression
Please note that the Side Deck is for my own local meta, so it may not be applicable to you. However, I personally feel that it's versatility covers (very well, might I add) every matchup that a Flamecat player would want/need to side for.
I believe I've covered everything there is to say about this deck, but if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
