Liella waddled along, her large stomach swinging to and fro beneath her as her aching feet sought out steady places to land. She hadn't been feeling too good that day--in fact, her stomach was feeling very strange indeed. She hadn't had any pain yet, but she knew that something was going to happen soon--her instincts could feel it.
She turned to her small friend, who had faithfully followed her ever since they met, and promised to help her when her due date came. He seemed to be a cheery mood, as always, but as her worried eyes met his, she could see that he too was concerned.
"Orrin... I think the time is coming. I... I can feel them. I just know it." Her voice was strained, feigning braveness, but worried all the same. She only hoped that she was ready for this...

The little green usdia slowed in his tracks, looking up to the small mare, who's stomach was rather large at the moment. His brows knitted, and his voice was concerned as he asked, "Now? Are they... coming now?" He wasn't sure what he should do--actually, most of what he had learned about the world in general came from Liella and her fairytales. He wasn't much of a healer at all, but he was always willing to try. He just didn't want to make a mistake on something as important as the birth of foals!
He looked around, surveying their surroundings: A dense forest, large trees spreading their branches towards a ceiling-like canopy, clean grass underfoot, a few bushes here and there, and--a stream, not too far off! The sparkling water barely peeked out from behind a small cluster of young oaks.
"Over there, Liella! We can rest there, so at least if it isn't time, you won't have to be on your feet."

Liella half nodded, half grimaced as Orrin motioned to a small glade near the side of a clear and sweet-smelling stream. Now that she thought about it, she was rather thirsty, and greatly appreciated the thought of getting off her feet. There was still no pain in her abdomen, but she could tell that something was coming--whatever it was.
"Very well, Orrin. Lead the way, but not too fast--I feel a tad bit unsteady." She walked after the tiny stallion, slowly moving feet that wobbled under the weight of unborn foals. As she navigated around the trunks of trees, another face flitted through her mind--a blue face, with red-rimmed goggles and soft white striping. The face of her foals' father, who despite her wishes to the stars, would not be there to witness the birth of his children.

It wasn't long before Orrin had made his way down to the little glade, checking every few steps to make sure that Liella was behind him. As soon as he had made sure that she was still holding well on her feet, he moved forward and mussed up some dry leaves on the ground, creating a soft bed for his friend to lay on. The spot was only feet from the stream, and Liella would be easily able to get a drink if need be. It was also nicely secluded by the young saplings and a large weeping willow that grew just over the river bank. It's shielding branches could provide shelter from rain, if the occasion arose.
"Over here, Liella," he murmured, motioning at the spot he had prepared. She gracefully and politely accepted his offer, slowly making her way towards the leaves. She softly lowered herself to the ground and let out a little sigh. Orrin only wished he could do more for her.
"Is there anything else you need?" He asked, looking at her with concern.
